We saw some negative reviews about these guys. However, our experience was extremely positive. We searched all over the country for a 2 to 3 year old MX5. One year on, the car is still great. The service was fantastic, the guys even stayed open for us. Did other things for us they didn't need to like MOT for free etc etc. Just because it is not on the High Street don't let that put you off - totally upfront guys.

We bought our ford focus c-max from GL Cars on the 28th of March 2019. Our previous car had been written off in a car accident and we were desperately in need of a car. We went to go look at this one and test drove it – the only issue was the engine light came on as my husband was driving it. We asked them to check what was the problem, which they did – it was the EGR valve that we were advised needed cleaning or at worst maybe replacing. We were told nothing else was wrong with the car. We got a quote for that and for a full service as there was no service history included with it. Based on that information, we put in an offer or £1000 when they had it listed as £1500. They accepted but they wouldn’t do anything about the EGR valve and we would not get the 3 month warrantee. We accepted and bought the car. Three weeks later the car had its MOT and it failed on multiple points. It was that bad that our mechanic actually asked us where we bought it and told us to take it back as they had sold us such an unsafe car. It should never have been sold to us we were told. We also looked into our rights as we were, still within the 30 day period in which it is our right to claim a full refund if we have been sold a faulty car without our knowledge. When we called GL cars, they refused and said that as we took it as a reduced price, it was our problem now. We also emailed them however we have not heard back nor do I expect to. We have since been to another garage to confirm the results of the MOT and have been told it is only good for scrap. Which means they either knowingly sold us an unsafe car hoping we wouldn’t know until too late or they didn’t check it over properly before selling it to us. I don’t know which is worst. My advice would be do not even contact them, just look elsewhere maybe you won’t get screwed over like we did but if you do, they will not take responsibility in any way and you will be left out of pocket massively.

I would like to point out that you offered me £1000 for car advertised for £1500, you said you would take it away with an engine light on and 1 month left on the mot, you even asked me how much warranty I was giving when you when you were paying for the car , I clearly said none, please do not buy it if you are expecting a warranty I also said, but you agreed to take it away with no warranty, and because it failed the mot 1 month later you have done nothing but cry and moan and leave reviews everywhere, your problem is that you should have paid the £1500 with a new mot and a warranty but you thought you would be clever and buy the car cheap, blame yourself not us ! nick gl cars

I Recently bought a vehicle from GL Cars, they seemed very helpful and friendly at first, right up to the time I handed over my cash. Unfortunately I had a small issue with the vehicle. .but all my attempts to comunicate with GL Cars were ignored. Fingers crossed that nothing serious goes wrong with it... as based on this experience I am sure that I will not get any help from GL cars

I paid a deposit of £200 for. Daihatsu terios priced at £1500. After thinking it over I cancelled the nest day, and asked for a refund. They refunded £100 of my money. Not a bad days work. £100 for nothing.
