The car I bought in October 2020 came with a MOT certificate which claimed that a particular fault on one of the headlamps had been dealt with. When I took it for MOT this year I had to have the whole headlamp replaced because it was for a left hand drive vehicle. This cost me £500. I have been in contact with the owner but so far he has refused to refund me. He sold me a car that was unroadworthy which I drove for a year. I rue the day I ever read their advert. Don't go there. I have only given it any stars at all because I could not submit this review without doing so.

You Bought a car from us with a LEGAL mot with an ADVISORY REGARDING THE LIGHT. How can we be responsible for this and your claim the car was not roadworthy. You drove this car for 1 year with no issues.
My son had been in contact with this dealer and had booked a test drive and had been communicating with him about a particular car. My son took a train from another part of the UK to get to Gloucester and when he contacted him at the train station (someone at the dealer agreed to collect him) he was informed that the car was sold. To treat someone with such despicable behaviour is atrocious. I would be wary if you plan to buy a car from this dealership.

Your review is totally unfair. Your son had made an appointment to view, but he did not confirm he was coming on the day. We had a customer that bought the car that morning. How is it we are at fault when a confirmation call was not made by your son. If we had lost a sale and waited for him and he did not turn up then that is the way we would go out of business. It is just a case of respect to ensure the car is still available before travelling.

I'm sorry to hear that but I bought a car from the same dealership I booked a test drive ahead and they had warned me that booking the test drive it doesn't reserve the car it just makes them aware they need to get it ready but if they have a deposited put down on the vehicle that reserves it booking a test drive means they can still sell the vehicle it doesn't mean they take it out of sale they had explained it was first come if they want it then it was first serve they was very upfront and honest about this

Went to view a Smartcar which to be honest needed a lot of tlc. I wouldn't have paid more than £600 for it and they wanted over £3000! I took my little dog who is worth more than the car and who was sat on a lap in the car, causing no trouble at all. They asked me not to have the dog in the car! That's when I left. I have bought about 5 new cars recently and have never been told not to take my dog in the cars. That's why they make sales but small minded little 2nd hand dealers are a joke.

Had an awful experience here. Despite Covid, customers were hopping in and out of cars freely. Cars were connected up with jump leads, some with the engines running. We asked about one particular car which they had jump started whilst we were there, and they said someone was coming to look at it. We questioned why they needed to jump start it and they said all cars had to be jump started if they've been standing for a few days, and commented that we clearly hadn't been driving long if we didn't even know that. The very rude man then said he had proper customers to deal with not stupid ones like us, turned his back and walked away. I may have only been driving 2 years, but I have never had to jump start a car after a few days of being parked up, and I don't expect to ever have to either. Stupid I am not!

We was in lock down and we was hit with sales reductions etc, The only reason cars was running and jump starting as when its cold and cars are not run daily it is good practice to do this. You claim that you have driven for 2 years and not jump started your car, If you run a car regularly then your battery will keep charged
Get every single thing that comes out of their mouths in writing. Every promise of guarantees, money back, repairs, warranties, ect ect take ABSOLUTELY NOTHING they say as any kind of security for your purchase as the second they have your money you are doomed. Go anywhere else. Walk, get a bus, invest in a pushbike, literally consider everything and anything before buying from here. Halfords have just told us the front brake pads and discs need changing like NOW, and the exhaust won't last the month. Also the engine has been flooded with oil, hence the oil warning lights. If in any doubt as to this review, speak to the staff at the business next door. Apparently customers are always returning cars and GL1 cars have a terrible reputation for it. Never met anyone with lower standards.

With reference to this. You as the reviewer was NOT the purchaser of the car. You took it upon your self to cause so much trouble and bringing the police to our site for 3 hours and disrespecting our customers claiming false assault etc. When the car left us, the warranty was immediately voided by taking it to a 3rd party garage. A new exhaust had been fitted and it still had the labels from manufacture on which was burning off, a common practice. If you had read the warranty terms it clearly states the conditions. By the action that was pursued and not offering a receipt for work done and sending email for purchase of parts etc. The car was sold to you within our trading terms.

Absolutely disgusting. Me and my family was going to buy a food trailer from the owner, in order to help survive in these tough times. We paid a deposit and due to unexpected costs we could no longer proceed. He agreed to give us our deposit back and has no gone out of his way to ensure we can not get our money. Robbing us for his own pocket, I have bills I need to pay and this is disgusting, he agreed to a simple bank transfer, can not believe the length he is will to go just to take money that I have nothing for. Should be disgusted, can u imagine if the whole world was like this!!!!

Hi. Your review is totally unfair and unjust. Your deposit was refunded but it took time as we have to document it correctly for our accounts. You was treated with respect but a situation of clicking fingers is not pro active to achievement
I have just bought my daughter her first car from GL1 car sales and I was very impressed with the service I received. I was both excited and nervous about buying my daughter her first car but I was very reassured by the knowledge of the owner, great customer service and the excellent quality of the cars we looked at. It’s also great that the cars are approved and covered by the AA. My daughter and I are both delighted with the car we bought. Would definitely recommend.

The vehicle I purchased from GL1 is unsafe to drive and has suspension issues. The dealer refused my legal right for a refund and they wouldn't repair the vehicle for me. After reporting the issue to them the next day they said "we want nothing more to do with you and your car". All the fancy sales tactics like warranty and AA approved is not worth the paper it is written on. They will twist and turn conversations around in order to make it look like the customer is to blame. I wish I had never purchased the vehicle from Gl1 Car Sales and urge people to steer clear. As soon as the dealer has your money there is no going back. In the event that the dealer attempts to remove this review I have proof of purchase.

I brought a 2010 golf yesterday and I couldn't be happier. The car is beautiful and is even better than I had hoped for. The owner was patient and answered all of our questions. I would definitely buy from GL1 cars again,( but hope that this won't be for many years.)
