I purchased a specialist vehicle from GP Cars and dealt with Bob. He was extremely attentive throughout dealing with a complex transaction. My part exchange was also taken in as part of the transaction and I was given the price I was offered over the telephone. I travelled from a distance to buy the car and it was exactly how it was described. Bob also sent me a video of the vehicle with an honest appraisal and the work that was required was also carried out. The finance package was much better than what my bank of 26 years could offer and I also took this. Bob was professional and knowledgeable and made the whole experience fantastic. I would recommend them 100%. Thanks Bob you are a star!!
Saw a car I liked on the internet. and then sent them an email about the car. were very helpful via email. I had a car to PX and they actually offered a very good price in PX. So I made the deal via email without seeing the car. (Not the best idea most times) I drove 1200 miles to do the deal. Got there and were very professional. Car had a few minor imperfections, but what do you expect on a 2nd hand car, and there was a faulty wing mirror, I made the deal without seeing, this time the vehicle was pretty much as I had expected. They promised the mirror was on order and would be sent to as it was an import vehicle it had to come from USA. OK. We did the deal and I then drove 1200 miles back in the car, Not 1 problem at all but air con was not working correctly. had that checked out at home and was just low preasure, next to nothing to fix, BUT I did try when I tested the car and was a cold day so had no idea really, my fault I did not pick up on it. I am sure they would have checked it straight away. So far 1 month later very happy with the car and the service I got, and wing mirror turned up a few weeks after I got the car, just like they said. I am happy with my deal with GP cars.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Bought a car from them back in July. On the face of it, seemed genuine. On the day, the car looked good but was pulling to one side. I mentioned this, went off for a coffee and all seemed okay after they said it was tyre pressure, so I bought the car. Little did I know, that despite being assured the finance had been cleared at the time of purchase, it took a week of chasing them and the finance company to ensure the finance had been cleared. I had been misled at the time, being told and given a HPI check which showed clear. Unfortunately I did not notice that the document they gave me was a month old. I was told at the time the document had just been produced. The finance was cleared eventually, but they seemed dis-interested in helping. Since that time, I have discovered the car had been involved in an accident and has had a bodged paint repair. The door colour, white at the time of purchase has already yellowed in a month. It is apparent that this repair most probably was done by them in their workshop as it is very bad, masking tape left everywhere and over spray which is now peeling. The tracking was so bad, the rear tyres wore unevenly during the first month and had to be replaced. GP cars did send an email offering to pay for the tyres and alignment, but hence, after chasing them for two weeks, they now don't respond to my emails. I will initiate court proceedings against them, but PLEASE, do NOT buy from this company as their after sales is non-existent. I am now left with a vehicle that I will have to pay to get the door fixed and out of pocket for having to get multiple HPI checks done.
My experience is same as other disgruntled customers. Waited ages for car to be ready, air con not working when I got it home. Phoned and to they would ring back. After numerous calls by me they asked for the number of a garage nearer to me and arranged for me to take it there for estimate. Before I could do this the acceleration dangerously flattened and black smoke was blowing out of the exhaust. Reported this to GP Cars and got garage to look it over. Thousand of pounds of problems and car not roadworthy. GP cars said garage were trying to make an old car new and refused estimate. Told me to get it over to them and pay for transport. I bought this car in June and have had no use and been left without transport since then. Though I had 3 months warranty and paid £780 plus vat to go cars for driver cover. Phoned trading standards and was told that unless I give them the opportunity to make good I have no legal rights. Phoned and phoned them again and eventually got a price from them to recover car to them. Agreed price and was told I would have my car back in 6 to 7 days. My car Is still standing in the local garage and they do not return my calls. Local garage now getting annoyed understandably. The owner of GP cars must be a moral invalid to treat people this way.

We were looked after extremely well from beginning to end by Bob the salesman. The Range Rover Discovery was all I was looking for and has lived up to all my expectations. Bob showed us the previous invoices relating to the car, that relieved any worries we might have with a 2nd hand Disco. Any of the usual wear and tear problems with a car its age, had thankfully been addressed by the previous owner. We hope to keep in touch with them for our next buy which should be next year.
I found my experience doing business with GP Cars an absolute pleasure, I dealt mainly with a guy by the name of Bob, a real gentleman, although I did realise that I was parting with £11,500 cash for one of his cars, so I am not completely naive, but the car is great, Bob was great to do business with and his staff must be hand picked for their politeness, the showroom, if you can call it that was so layer back it made doing business a real pleasure, although they sell a lot of really high end cars I didn't experience any of what has been written before about how they looked down on you, I couldn't have been treated better if I was buying one of their high end cars, they just made the whole experience of buying a car a real pleasure. Thank you Bob and all of your team (I won't refer to them as staff, they are a team). I will be buying my next car here and I have already told my neighbour who is looking for another car for his wife. THANK YOU GP CARS ------- Sid Hartman
I would never buy from GP Cars again. As all other reviews before any money changes hands they are very polite, helpful and not pushy at all. I paid a deposit on a Saturday and was told by Dean that my car would be ready to collect a week and a half later after it had a Pre Delivery Inspection (which I would get a copy of), the rear bumper re-sprayed as it had some chips in the paint, a full MOT, service, a rev range check at the local Porsche dealer and a Road Angel sensor removed. I pointed out that the tyres looked low on tread but was told not to worry as this would be picked up on the Pre Delivery Inspection. I called Dean on the Tuesday to get an update on the rev range check but got no info. I called back a couple of days later to be told Dean had gone on holiday and wouldn't be back for two and a half weeks! I asked for an update on the car but the salesman I was speaking to, Bob, did not know if the car was at Porsche or back at GP Cars. I did not hear anything from GP Cars for another two weeks and when Bob called a message was left on my mobile informing me that the car was ready for collection and to make sure I had cleared funds to pay them. I called Bob and asked if all the items discussed with Dean at the point of putting the deposit down had been sorted. Again no one knew what had been done or not. I then decided to wait for Dean to come back from holiday before going to GP Cars. When I was in their sales office ready to collect my car I asked if the MOT was ok or were there any advisories to be told the MOT was fine. I finally took the car home four weeks after putting down the deposit. The next day the oil level was showing no oil plus I checked the MOT online and it was showing an advisory that all four tyres were near the legal limit! I rang Dean and told him about the oil level and the MOT. He agreed to have the car back to fit a new oil level sensor and tyres. This took another three weeks. During this time the car went back and forth to GP twice. Also during this time I would call Dean for updates and get the usual "can I call you back in five minutes" which was a brush off so I started calling the landline and talking to the workshop direct. For my own peace of mind I took the car to a Porsche specialist and they did a check free of charge. They reported that the discs and pads had less than 2000 miles life, the track rods ends were worn and surprised that these were not picked up on the MOT. I rang the workshop and told them what the specialist had said. They agreed to speak to the specialist to confirm. At this point I still had not been given a copy of the MOT. I eventually got an MOT paper copy and was promised the Pre Delivery Inspection report, this I haven't had yet and frankly got fed up with keep calling and chasing them up. I could go on but I think anyone reading this review will get the gist of my experience buying a car from GP. Do not waste your time with them.
SERIOUSLY HAVE TAKEN MONEY FROM ME. THE SALESMAN BOB TOOK £500 FROM ME FOR A CREDIT CHECK AND THEY ARE DOING THERE UPMOST TO TRY NOT TO GIVE IT BACK, EVEN AFTER MY CREDIT CHECK HAD FAILED. I HAVE HAD TO INFORM TRADING STANDARDS AND JUDGING FROM THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS I DOUBT THIS COMPANY WILL LAST LONG. I WOULD NOT TO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.
Garage: GP Cars, Brookmans Park, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, AL9 7AY. BY FAR THE WORST CAR DEALERSHIP I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO DEAL WITH. I THINK THEY KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A CAR WITH TWO MAJOR OIL LEAKS. THEY DONT ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN I RING. WHEN THEY DO SPEAK TO ME THEY HANG UP ON ME. THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THE LEAKS. AVOID THIS DEALER AT ALL COSTS. CURRENTLY TAKING THEM TO COURT.
I recently bought a BMW 335i M Sport Cab, car is in the perfect colour and looks fantastic, Bob the sales person who looked after us, was friendly & helpful. Nice bunch of lads with lots of cars to choose from. Would recommend. Also a very nice place to visit, not your usual dealership.
