The staff at Grovehurst Cars were polite and friendly. They made the experience of buying a new van easy and stress free. Callum in particular was really helpful and made sure everything was organised and ready for us on the day of collection. I would definitely use this dealership again in the future and recommend them highly.
Surprised as I had heard some terrible stories about them but Darren was very professional, honest and went out of he’s way to make my choice and transaction really easy. I was unsure what I wanted and asked lots of questions to which he gave honest answers. Hopefully if I have any issues it will be just as easy to resolve.
Buying the car was easy and pleasurable due to the helpful friendly staff.
Marshall sold me my first ever car, Ford CMax. He was brilliant, really friendly! He was thorough with the paperwork, answered any questions me and my dad had, and I was confident to drive all the way back to T Wells. No probs with the car whatsoever, thanks Marshall!

Purchased Corsa D from them in August last year. I was swayed by their websites claims of an Interim Service and 12 months MOT and 3 Months Warrant. The sales process was smooth enough, but Day 2 is when the problems began – with a Coolant Warning Light coming on it became apparent that the car was losing coolant (over a litre a day). The car started to stall when coming to a stop (very dangerous considering how many motorway miles I do) then finally another engine management light came on. I had to return the car to their ‘Garage’ at my expense and inconvenience. It was diagnosed as a faulty water pump and then it was replaced. The service from the ‘Garage’ was poor. It later transpires that both car sales and garage companies are linked. Having received it back with a ‘new’ water pump I continued to monitor the coolant level and low and behold for the next few days it continued to lose coolant. At this point (and due to it being within 14 days) I asked to cancel the purchase and return the car as I’d lost faith in it. I was told this wasn’t possible (which is against consumer law) and only after pushing and asking for the refusal in writing did they budge. The solution was to return the car to the garage but this time they would offer me a courtesy car. Due to them needing to sort a courtesy car I had to wait over a week for the car to go in – in the meantime I was told to continue to drive and keep an eye on the coolant level – not overly reassuring. Turns out the courtesy car was some part ex they’d taken in; it wasn’t even clean. They had my car for three days – the fault this time (you’ve guessed it) the water pump again. They fitted another ‘new’ water pump. So, for the first two weeks of owning, it had spent more time in the garage being fixed, than being driven. They also gave me 6 months extended warranty – everything finally solved. At this point I had given Grove Hurst Cars the benefit of the doubt and that maybe, just maybe I’d been very unlucky. Fast forward 6 months – and the water pump has gone again – this time I chose to fix myself (as I needed the car back on the road quickly). I thought that Grove Hurst was a reputable company and that they would be concerned that an apparently ‘new’ water pump could go wrong within 6 months of it being fitted (regardless of whatever the small print and warranty says about timescales) surely, you’d expect a new water pump to last longer. In fact, in all my years of driving and owning cars I’ve only ever had to replace a water pump once – I’m up to three on this car now. In summary Their Interim Service– there is no way with the amount of coolant being lost after day 2! that it wouldn’t have been spotted during the service so either a) they didn’t do it or b) they did it and ignored any issues MOT (and the service) – carried out by a ‘Garage’ they are connected to – a clear conflict of interest. Warranty – Not worth the paper its written on as they are incapable of repairing a fault properly. In fact, I suspect they use ‘re-conditioned’ parts rather than new. Every car they own in set up to last the warranty period, and then it’s your problem. In short avoid – at least my car only cost £3k – they were selling some for £10k + so feel sorry for the poor people that spent more.

Really friendly, down to earth staff who aren’t your typical car salesman. They seem honest and no hidden extras and went out of their way to help us and give us any info we required.
