Overall extremely poor experience with Guy Salmon Land Rover in Northampton , sales executive was pleasant and helpful but business manager was utterly useless , decided not to proceed with the purchase and took my business to an organisation that values customer service and is transparent
Two scruffy young women on “reception” one opened the door, nice touch I guess. Can you tell me purpose of your visit? To buy a car!..... Saleswoman on her phone, initially ignored. Then friendly intro Told her what I wanted to buy and PX .... she had less product knowledge than me and a lot less than Autocar. Became painful and very non premium when the “business mgr” started to start de valuing my car. I concluded Guy Salmon Land Rover in Northampon didn’t want my business and walked out!
Not the best experience at Guy Salmon Land Rover in Northampton, lack of engagement in servicing and warranty issues, had heated discussion to put a customers prospective on matters with service manager, while overcharging issues were corrected we shouldn’t have arrived to that point in the first place l. One has to say, had I not have been so insistent maybe they would have got away with it. Wouldn’t use dealer again and inclined to sell car within the next and move away from the Landrover brand.

Arranged to view a car at Guy Salmon Land Rover in Northampton with advertised 1000 mls on the clock,I enquired about security features ie. tracker,was told it was fitted with"in control secure"which could be accessed via an app.Both of things were misleading,totally incorrect.The mileage was 9500 and there was no secure tracker.The salesman did not seem to know the full spec of the car or was he just going for the sale? Not what you expect from a main dealer.

I came to Guy Salmon Land Rover Northampton expecting them to be really good. Came in on the Friday spoke to a young man called Steve. Explained that I couldn’t have a test drive of the car till the following week on Saturday. He told me that he wouldn’t be there but told me that somebody else would look after me. I was alright with that obviously. Expected a phone during the week to confirm my test drive. I had to call them on the Thursday. The guys at the dealership new nothing about me. . Nevertheless the less they told me to come down on the Saturday as planned. When I got there at my allotted time another salesman called Phil came and told me I couldn’t have my test drive. I have to travel 30 miles round trip. Totally wasted. Anyway I went back on the Sunday. They then gave me a car with totally inadequate fuel for my test drive. This car that I was looking at is over £45000 and the service is diabolical. Obviously if I eventually go for a Land Rover I won’t be going to Guy Salmon. One really cheesed of prospective customer.
