DO NOT USE HAMMOND CARS! This company has sold a car with a clean mot and when retested out of our own money it came back that there was issues on it that were flagged on the previous mot before Hammond cars mot'd it, it clearly shows they use dodgy garages to pass cars with clear mots so they can sell them for more. This is dangerous and you should avoid them! There is issues with the brakes and suspension on the car we bought with a clear mot.

Went to Hammond Cars Ipswich. Sales person Glen met us on arrival and was so helpful. We looked around car (Qashqui) took it for a test drive and fell in love. Glen helped us sort out finance at a good rate for us and brought car. Highly recommend Glen and Hammond Cars Ipswich. They are not at all pushy sales people, just let you take your time and are there for any questions or queries, nothing is too big or small. They explain things in plain English, so no hidden extras or surprises along the way

Stood waiting for a sales person, after 30 minutes left with three other customers who had also been ignored. Had £30k in hand to buy a car today. Poor service. No staff on site. Lots of cars but will never sell them if there are no staff on the lot or in the show room, a sign says no entry to show room looked through window and then left. A wasted journey.
Great customer service. Very easy purchase process. Really impressed with Hammond Cars. Will be returning in the future. 5 star from me

I enjoyed the sales experience very much so. No hard sell and reasonable price for the market. The vehicle however was not fit for purpose. I bought a car that was only two years old and so as I was told still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. As time went on I noticed a knocking sound as I was turning at a tight angle. Took the car to my local Ford dealership who told me that there is clear evidence of an incorrect repair and there will be considerable cost to me to put this right. Hammond Cars say that they will not cover the cost of the repairs due to my higher than average mileage since taking ownership of the car. This is inconsistent with the findings from the mechanics yet they are not prepared to help me in this matter any further and would prefer to leave me considerably out of pocket and with no vehicle in the mean time. The whole reason I buy from a garage in the first place is to be able to rely on the after care. So far I have been left with no support whatsoever.

Not one to write reviews but have to on this occasion. My partner and I have had 3 cars from Hammonds Ipswich. 1st was a 15 Plate corsa which at the time was about 6 months old with 3k on the clock. After a while the air con pump gave up and needed fixing. Luckily was in warranty so was covered with Vauxhall. Thought these things happen, no big deal. Second car was a 15 plate BMW 3 Series automatic, 6 months old, 6k on the clock. One day driving home from work the car just stopped and went into shut down. Long story short, turns out the gear box was faulty, again luckily covered under warranty and was fixed with BMW. But a almost NEW BMW automatic gear box giving up with around 11k miles on the clock?!! Third car, which we currently have due to PCP constraints, is an X Trail. 66 plate, done a few miles in it so up to 27k miles. In for a service today and just had a call back that the rear disks and pads are completely warn and there is a break fluid leak on the drivers side that needs new callipers! We first thought ‘oh it happens on cars’ but after hitting 3 for 3 on big faults on cars we have had from Hammonds - it’s safe to say it’s no chance occurrence. Especially after reading these reviews also!! As I said, friendly, comfortable customer service to get the sale through - but absolutely woeful cars. Glad we moved to Manchester so won’t be back to Hammonds ever again. Avoid like the plague, pay a little more and get a proper car in sound condition

I reserved a car to buy this morning at 08:15 which was confirmed by email. Travelled to the dealership in Ipswich to find it had been sold first thing today. No call from them to save my journey and no apology. What’s the point of reserving a vehicle if it can still be sold in the meantime. The reservation process on their website is a waste of time as they will still sell the vehicle to any potential customer even if you have reserved the car to buy. Beware of this, I see it has happened to a number of other customers. Poor, inexperienced staff that don’t care about customer service. Avoid this company and buy elsewhere as I have done.
I Bought a car”a year and half old from Hammond cars When I got it home “there was a nose from behind the dash so I took it to my local mechanic to make sure it wasn’t something serious Lucky I did The car had been damaged before and had been very badly repaired: 🔴Quarter panel welded in 🔴Rubbers glued on 🔴car fully painted 🔴lower sill (mess) 🔴bolts rung And could go on on. TAKE MY ADVICE NOW. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
