We recently collected our Volvo XC401 , we ordered this vehicle back in Aug 2021which due to all the delays due to parts etc took almost 8 months I would like to say a massive thank you to our sales rep who was very helpful and polite throughout, taking time out to contact us regularly to give us assurance that things are progressing. Craig Briggs who was friendly, helpful explained that everything to us. , We couldn't have asked for more, we are very happy with the service and the vehicle I will certainly recommend Riverside to my family and friends.

Our Volvo went in for a service on a service plan on the 10th of March. We were informed that in addition to the service an oil leak was found which would mean replacing two gaskets and some feed lines. This was going to cost over £900 pounds as it entailed about five hours work. We had already informed them, when the vehicle was collected, that both myself and my wife were recovering from Covid. We agreed that as we could not use the car until 18th of March that they could do the work as and when it suited provided it was done by the 18th. We rang on the 17th and were told the work was being done. We have just rung at 4.30pm on the 18th to see why the car had not yet been delivered only to be told that it was not ready and would not be until Monday. This leaves us with no vehicle and this is after we have not been able to shop for two weeks due to Covid. Also my wife has a year old friend who was discharged from hospital today following a bowel cancer operation. As she lives on her own we are her point of contact and should have visited today to check she is OK. When we suggested a courtesy car we were told we could have one if we took a taxi to pick it up. I am 70 years old and have had many makes of car, but shall not be purchasing another Volvo if this is how they treat their customers.
Very helpful and pleasant staff, showroom very good and comfortable, excellent communication on phone and all questions answered.
Having used what was previously Harrats Volvo for over 20 years, with exceptional level of customer care. The new face of wakefield volvo, Riverside has shocked me. Car in for service under pre purchase service plan. Telephone call from service personnel stating requires brake pads urgently, unsafe to drive, reuired to sign a waiviour to release vehicle if this isn't carried out ! Second opinion alarm ! Turns out brake pads less than half worn ( 20,000 miles so far). I am £205 better off for not having unecessary repairs. Shamefull dealership that i will not be using again.

Told me there's "plenty of life" remaining in the pads on my car. Actually, wafer thin, dangerous and an MOT fail. Selekt used car, very selective!
Riverside Volvo in Wakefield fail to inform customer of faults and ensure that car was serviced in warranty period, Whole experience one of questionable practices which appear to stem from management.
They took so long to process finance, that I ended up purchasing a car from elsewhere. Then they wouldn't give my refundable deposit back! It's been two weeks, I call everyday and I'm told that they will get back to me but never do. You will really struggle to get any money back from them. Still not received mines! Staff were rude when arrived, no one approached us and we had to stand around for ages until someone acknowledged us. They sound friendly but don't be fooled.

I was lied to, miss sold a deal and struggled to get my deposit back. Ended up having to hire a vehicle for work as this dealer messed me about so much. I do not recommend Harratts Volvo in Wakefield.

Everything was bang on when I picked the car up and cant fault anything there. This though is only half of the story because the truth is that I have had issues with the car since and they have sorted all the issues and paid for them so all credit for doing this. But on the negative side what this meant was that I didn't have my car for 10 weeks whilst this was happening which is a bit unfortunate. Although this happened I would still recommend them as my family members have bought cars from there since and had no problems at all I am probably 1 in a 100 it happens too.
