Avoid Hartwell kidlington at all costs! Unfortunately I've learnt the hard way. I bought a 2019 plate smax back in march 2023, after 9 months of having it I had major problems- took it to my local Ford dealer who said it required a new engine 🤬 35k miles, 4 year old! I sent it back to hartwell to have this work carried out as luckily I took out the extended warranty with them- thank god I did!! They basically fobbed me off with a set off new spark plugs and told me it was fine- after 6 weeks of no car, no courtesy car I had to take their word and take the car back- even though my Ford garage said it was a ticking time bomb and would happen again! Low and behold 4 months later on the motorway to the airport the same issues returned- took it back to my local Ford who said it needs a new engine!! Luckily they used hartwells warranty and replaced the engine for me. In total my car was off the road for 4 months. The warranty company have forked out just short of 11k in total on that car! Hartwell couldn't give a stuff- thankfully the engine went bang in my Ford garage and not while I was driving it with my children in the car! If they had replaced the engine in the first place it would never have got to where it did! Instead fobbed me off with a set of sparkplugs till the engine went bang! Absolutely disgraceful garage! Please avoid at all costs!!
I am deeply dissatisfied with my recent experience at Hartwell Kidlington, where I encountered both unethical business practices and poor customer service. Initially, I had expressed interest in a particular car, only to discover that its price had been increased without justification. What's more concerning is that the dealership went as far as deleting the original advertisement, attempting to conceal their actions. This blatant disregard for transparency and fairness is unacceptable. Instead of addressing my concerns, the management provided dismissive responses, showing a lack of accountability and integrity. It's evident that profit takes precedence over customer satisfaction at Hartwell Kidlington. As a result of this unethical behavior, I have chosen to take my business elsewhere and urge others to think twice before dealing with Hartwell Kidlington. Such practices are not only disappointing but also indicative of a company that prioritizes dishonesty over ethical conduct

If I could have left a 0 star review I would have. I have personally worked within the main dealer network since 1999 and never in all my years have I come across deal prevention like this. My partner wanted to buy a Mini Countryman for which we have the funding in place so we started searching around for a sensible value for money vehicle...after seeing the car she wanted advertised with a main dealer group I said to her "that's the car to buy" as there would be the back up of Hartwell being a main dealer group so the car would have been checked and prepared to a proper standard. The issue came when we tried to actually buy the car...My partner called to place a deposit on it with the view that we could get the finance paid out and transfer the remaining deposit and arrange to collect the car on a day that suited our very busy life, only to be told that the car must be collected within 3 days even though the car would be fully paid for up front. Disappointed doesn't even come close to the way we now feel about Hartwell group and our experience!! It's no wonder that over half of the reviews on Trust Pilot are 1 star!! I have worked for a range of small to large groups over the last 24 years and never have I come across a ridiculous rule like this! Just think how much additional business and customer satisfaction you'd build if you just took a common sense approach!!!!

Great customer service from Simon who went over and above and out of his way to make sure i was happy im my purchase! would definitely recommend to friends and family from one happy customer!!

Purchased a VW POLO GTI from Hartwell seeing that it had a great spec and milage, very excited considering it was a big jump from my first car. Great service from Simon. However, considering the low interest on the finance option (which I didn’t go for) nothing was knocked off the car considering it came with all the wheels needing refurbishing, paintwork not being in the best condition, interior panels scratched. I tried to contact the manager about the issues, I was told that I could come back down to hartwell and they would provide a good will gesture by polishing the car. However, the dealer ship would take me a total of 4.5 hours of driving.
Had a great experience dealing with Alwyn Hunda. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole car buying process go seamlessly. They have some nice selection of cars on the forecourt. Overall a nicely presented showroom in a easy to reach location.

Booked a slot to view a car at 5pm, once I arrived at the dealership I was advised that the car had been sold to someone else. Initially I spoke to a chap called Elvin who was fantastic, I asked to speak to a manager and the disgusting service was about to begin. After explaining the situation I got a half hearted apology and not much else, didn't even try and see if they had any other vehicles that may have met my requirements and came across patronising and had the worst attitude I have come across. I requested reimbursement for my travel costs which was swiftly rejected, after a back and forth he decided to turn his back on me and walk away back into the showroom. I followed and was greeted by him laying back in his chair with his arms folded, he commented 'what do you want' my response was simple, reimbursement. I was then asked to leave the showroom which I obliged as I was at this point fuming. I called the head office in Grimsby and explained the situation and was advised that this isn't what they expect from the dealership. After approx 20 minutes on the phone whilst sat on site one of the managers colleagues offered me £20 for fuel which I declined, why was this not offered at the outset and why did the manager not come out? The offer is far less than the 2 hours journey, use of diesel and the time taken off work to view the car. To summarise, if this is what service you get at the sales stage just imagine if you had an issue after you spent your hard earned money. I have made a formal complaint and will see if they take this seriously, I would certainly never step foot back in this dealership and would advise people to look elsewhere!!!!!!

Avoid Used Cars from here if you can - sold a car and within 2 months it needed new brake pads and new discs; I felt that the 3 month warranty may help here but it didn't and asked for some fair gesture of goodwill and this also fell on deaf ears! escalated to senior management and they declined - so they take your money fast, but cover up (in our opinion) jobs that are expensive and didn't even want to meet us half way with the bill of over £1,300 to fix! Thanks for nothing here Hartwell plc. Won't be buying another car from here that's for sure.

I don’t very often write reviews but felt compelled to do so my much loved 2012 Ford Focus was getting a bit long in the tooth so decided to trade the old girl in i went to the Hartwell super centre in kidlington and spoke to a really helpful salesman called Sven I’ve always bought Ford but decided time for a change when a Mazda 3 caught my eye so the deal was done now the car was lovely my only complaint was the driver position which I’m sure was not the fault of the car but due to my back problems so asked if it was possible to return the car and swap it for something else there were no questions asked and said that would not be a problem so I swapped for another Focus I was so impressed with Sven and his fantastic customer service and can do attitude I would highly recommend Hartwell as a company and recommend anyone to speak with Sven although you get the feeling that all the salesman are well trained in customer service well done Hartwell well done Sven

Dealt with Harry in the Sales department over the last couple days looking at a used Nissan Qashqai. Really helpful and explained a few bits and bobs I was unsure about. Can recommend these guys (especially Harry) even though we didn't buy, it was simply just down to our budget not being big enough!
