I purchased my car 3 months ago from Highbury Motors and think I was lucky compared with many. The car itself is good but had needed a 10 year major service which they said had been done but hadn't. That said I also get a new car serviced by my local garage. I was lucky as nothing came up but it could have been so different. BIG issue is after buying the warranty I heard nothing done is some investigation only to find they never actually took out the warranty I had paid for. Managed to reclaim via credit card company.

So, the story is... I went there and I test drove a car. I heard a noise while I was driving the car and I asked what was that noise. The guy who was with me in the car said is diesel car engine noise. So very normal! I believed him and bought the car. Unfortunatelly! I bought the car but the very next day, I got it checked in a local garage and I was told is wheel bearing! I went back to Bristol and told them but nothing happened. Then after lots of e-mails which they always replied very very late, they write to me to bring the car in Bristol in their garage, writting as a reply: "Any faults stopping the vehicle from being Fit for purpose or making it unroadworthy will be rectified " Me and my husband took day off and went to this garage! There, they told me that I can fix the car for 150 GBP... Which this was supposed to be a discount price. I mentioned to them that a local garage would do that for 140 GBP ( I had done my research) so where is the discount? But again nothing. I did fixed the car as I could not loose another day from work but I did paid 150 GBP. So, I would avoid to buy a car from there! I should have checked the reviews before buying the car!

So bought the car from Highbury Motors for £7500 perfectly happy till I got home. Parked up on the drive locked the car went to go back to get my phone unlocked the car and the drivers door would not unlock tried locking and unlocking but it stayed in the locked position. Called the garage explained that I’d had the car less than 24 hrs and there is an issue was hoping after reading the reviews that this would be sorted with no issues due to having an extended warranty. So 3 days later still waiting on a call back from some guy in after sales. ( complete joke ) I call back and get told this is not covered under the warranty I explained I raised the issues straight away and was advised it’s not covered and won’t offer any resolution what so ever. Completely incompetent and typical inexperienced car dealership they don’t even know what warranty company they are with or what they offer after being challenged there reply was I will get someone to ring u. My reply was I’ve been waiting 3 days for a call back already. I’ve been selling cars for many years and this should of been sorted straight away. This has now gone to trading standards to be investigated as the call was recorded. Please be aware of Buying anything from these armatures.

Unfortunately you will find that they have closed down the premises. I drove past there on Tuesday and everything has gone. Website also taken down.

I absolutely agree!! total joke this garage and how it is run. bought a car from there in may last year with the promise that the part needed to fix the boot was on order and they will call when it had arrived to arrange for it to be fixed. Nearly a year later and a lot of phone calls and wasted time they still haven't fixed it!! I had to pay for the repairs myself for it to pass the MOT. I called them and asked if they were going to reimburse me and they said they would, so i emailed over all the details and again silence... i drove past it a few days ago and its closed down so hopefully they've had some trouble from trading standards!!
Whoever is in charge at Highbury Motors (or acts like it) it’s a complete disgrace. I have never in my life experienced such rude and abrupt experience!! This seems like one of many bad reviews. Absolutely avoid this place at all cost and I will certainly be sharing my poor experience elsewhere too! If I could rate NO starts, I absolutely would!
Great purchase with these guys. They also offered me a great extended warranty, incase i have any issues. Highly recommend and great price paid for my part exchange! Don't be shy to negotiate folks haha

Messed me about. Inaccurate information and unwillingness to to help a customer who was buying a Mercedes. I cancelled the sale. They care more about making money that helping me and providing excellent customer service. No information on holding deposit and showing no trust that I was traveling 90 miles to view.. I would avoid.

bought audi estate on finance from these so called car dealers. got there to pick car up on saturday, and they had not valeted car as promised. tyres were soft on rear of car, headlight bulb broken, to find a bulb they took it out of another audi. rear windscreen wiper broken. when i got home i lifted sun visors and found a 5inch crack across the windscreen, i rang them up straight away only to have them tell me that it was my fault!!!!!! my deposit for holding the car was not returned to me they said they will use deposit to sort windscreen!!!!!!! tried to sort this out over the phone, they are not interested so i have now made a complaint to my finance company and also to auto trader who advertise this so called high bury motor company as car dealers which they are not!!!!!!!! WOULD NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE
We just bought a BMW I3 from Highbury Motors with a puncture we were told had been fixed by a professional tyre service, the tyre had not been repaired at all and the salesman was quite happy for us to drive our car away as a family of five including a baby. The tyre had a nail in the wall of the tyre and we did a return home journey of over 200 miles.

Great review mate. However, I am concerned about the lack of truth and/or safety precautions you have taken in insuring your family is safe. It is clearly indicated on many websites (i.e.,http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/bmw/i3) that this car was only ever manufactured as a 4 seater, therefore, I have great difficulty in accepting that you had a baby car seat and 2 adults at the back of that car. People like you give car dealers a bad reputation with fabrications of the truth. P.S. The tyre industry is the most temperamental and unpredictable aside vehicles themselves. It is therefore plausible to surmise that a tyre puncture can happen at any given time.
Stay well away. a very bad attitude so wouldn't recommend.

Staff in response to Stinking attitude
Given that you have left a 1 star review on a small Business without a detailed explanation of your experience, it is plausible to surmise that this can lead to a biased opinion of potential customers. To potential customers looking at this review, some of the things to consider before making a judgment are: (i) Did the above customer make an offer that was declined? (ii) Did his trade in / part exchange vehicle value not meet his expectations? We welcome all feedback (positive, negative or neutral). However, it is unfortunate how easily accessible Google have allowed such reviews when there may have been no contact with the Business whatsoever.
