I write an update to my review. Firstly the experience on the day was fine, it is the after sales the is atrocious. You have to give reviews on here and auto trader to get the extended warranty of 3 months, which basically is a terrible way to do business, realistically forcing customers to put in a de ent review to get the warranty. After this was done I never heard back from them with regards the extended warranty but I am 6 weeks down the line and still waiting for my V5 logbook to arrive. I sold my other car the following day from buying this car did the DVLA website thing to inform them it was sold, then within 1 week the buyer had the V5 and I had confirmation it was all processed. This leads me to the conclusion that Highlanders GB just can’t be bother once the car is sold, would never use them again in future,

Avoid! 0 Stars! Sold us a vehicle with faulty suspension and dangerously loose steering wheel column. Bought a Landrover Discovery from these people in April. Firstly the car was dirty and didn't have a full tank of petrol. Within 10 days the suspension warning light came on. The car went into limp mode, which made the handling of the vehicle very bumpy as the car effectively had no suspension. Any minor pot hole felt like the car was going to bottom out. Returned the vehicle to Highlanders GB, they told me ‘it might need a new battery’ and also replaced the suspension relay (a part worth less than £10). Within 36 hours of being ‘repaired’ the suspension warning light came on again, car went into limp mode again. Dealer would not respond to telephone calls or emails. Got fed up waiting to hear back from them so took the car to a Landrover specialist. They told me straight away it needed a new suspension compressor. The mechanic also told me the steering wheel seemed very loose and not as responsive as it should be, so I asked them to inspect it. He found that the universal steering join was so badly worn that the car was completely unsafe to drive! They couldn’t repair it that day, so I told him I’d return later in the week BUT - he told me the car was so unsafe that I would have to leave it in their yard until it could be repaired. His words were ‘I cannot let you put your children in this car and drive away, it’s a tragedy waiting to happen.’ The ‘safety checks’ carried out by Highlanders GB upon purchase are clearly not worth the paper they’re written on!

Can I just ask if you managed to get a full refund from highlanders? Surely, by law, they should have given you a full refund? I'm in the same boat unfortunately and I'm just wandering if I am able to get my money back 😭

Hi Nikki - we sued them in civil court for the cost of the repairs. We initially sought a full refund but the dealer tried to claim a deduction for wear and tear, which they are technically entitled to do. So because we had already sold our old car and couldn’t be without any vehicle while we argued for the full refund in court, we repaired it at our own expense and then claimed the cost of repairs in court.
