STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE A CON AND SELL FAULTY CARS. I have purchased a few cars in my life and this by far is the worst experience and faulty car I have driven. I purchased a car from a dealership a month ago, and within a few days there were faults with the brakes a tyres. The brakes were faulty and making noises when I drove the car. I rang the dealership and was told to bring it in. I drove for over an hr, only for the sales man to drive my car and say he can’t hear a noise. He then said if I wanted it changed I will have to pay for a new break pad and disc even through I only had the car for a few days. I drove the car to my dealership and was told the disc and pads were in a bad state. I had to pay for both to be changed. A week later I was finding it hard to drive the car, I drove it to a garage who said that the clutch is gone. I rang the dealership and spoke to the sales man who I believe is the owner and he was horrible on the phone. Not sympathetic at all. He said I should drive it to them and they will have a look at it, given the fact that the drive is over an hr away and the car clutch is gone. His response is it’s your car so we’re not going to spend our money. I’ve was sold a faulty car and there’s not accountability or willingness to fix the fault at not expense to myself. Worst dealership I’ve experienced. If you want a reliable car DO NOT USE THEM. I wish I read the reviews before buying the car

Nope. Steer clear, or knock at least 2 grand off their asking price to cover the risk of buying a used car from these people. I was left with a broken car for nearly a month, the hassle both of having to get my local garage to fix the car and of fighting with the warrantee company to pay for the £1300 repair, and ended up £300 out of pocket only weeks after buying a used car. So, here’s a lesson learned… buy a used car from a dealership and not a purely second hand dealer. You’ll pay the same amount but have the backup a dealership gives to cover the risk. The warrantee these guys give is just there to cover their liability under the sale of goods act… … but it won’t ever cover their reputational risk!

I booked a test drive of a Mercedes GLA but after looking over the car was told that I couldn’t test drive it until I committed to buying it .What??? Never heard such rubbish!!! How can you commit to spending over £15k without driving it ? You have an idea if you like it but have to drive it.I’ll spend my £15k elsewhere with a garage not trying to take my money before you can get through the door.Shocking sales procedure and lost my trust with that as seemed was just after my money.

PLEASE BEWARE - I paid top dollar for a car from what I thought was from a reputable dealer, however, having only had the car for 4 weeks and only driving circ. 200 miles, it stopped working. Mechanic said there is an issue with the Camshaft (most like chain) which will cost up to £1,500 to fix (it apparently had this warning more than once when he run the diagnostic). I contacted, Hillside, and explained the situation and they said "sold as seen" and they are not prepared to intervene. Very disappointing as I didn't buy privately for this exact reason as I’d mistakenly expected any dealership would ensure the cars they are selling are fully inspected and tested, which clearly is not the case.

Excellent service from start to finish. Very pleased with the Ford Fiesta we purchased for our daughter. We would definitely buy from hillside motors again.
Saw the car I wanted on AutoTrader , rang in, spoke to Shaun who answered the questions honestly and explained how he'd taken the family business over from his Father (Dad should be proud) did a deal over the phone with my part exchange which we were both happy with , drove 115 mls to Hillside Motors where I was met by Paul , who couldn't have been more helpful with the process . the price was fair, positive experience and a real pleasure doing business with these Guys , real happy bunny with my new car . Thanks Guys Richard C

I went to Hillside motors based on all their positive reviews, I bought a car , and drove it away today, staff were very pleasant and definitely no hard sell.. but I was very impressed by the quality of all of the cars on their forecourt , I know it doesn’t tell you the quality of the engines underneath the bonnet, but surely it’s a good indicator. I do know the car I bought does not make me feel like I have bought a used car, it is in very good condition, the drive is smooth and the car is a pleasure to drive. I do not understand the negative reviews on any of the sites, but I do understand why they are few and far between each other, as they say , you can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. I would highly recommend Hillside motors to anyone I know looking for a used car... thank you :)

I made an appointment with Hillside Motors. We were there right on the dot, but apparently all sales people were busy. A guy gave us a key and said he'd send a sales person as soon as one is available. After we looked at the car and waited half hour listening to him tell us how busy the are, we walked inside to find the salesman in question pushing papers around his desk. He then started asking us if we would definitely buy the car after we test drive it, because they have to sanitise it. That's after we've spent ten minutes in and around the car touching everything. I don't know what these people's game is, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
In January, I visited Hillside Motors to enquire further about an Audi A3 they had for sale. I was pressured into putting down a £300 deposit on it as they refused to let me test drive it without putting the money down, which they said they would refund if a mechanical fault was found with the car. At a later point, we found out the car had an oil leak on its most recent MOT. We were reluctant to go ahead with the purchase, and instead of refunding as agreed they would, they tried to spin my words to make it seem like I was pulling out of the agreement out of choice. I am seeking further legal advice to try and reclaim my deposit.

Shaun in response to Hard sell dealership
Michael. Very strange how many excellent reviews state that we work to a "no hard sale policy".... I agree somewhat to your review however this is our course of events. You expressed an interest in a very sort after Audi A3 we had in stock to which we had another phone call on the car whilst you were viewing. Your deposit was subject to a satisfactory test drive to stop the other client coming down to buy before you, your choice not ours !!!! Test drive completed and you went away happy. The conditions of sale was to identify an oil leak which was only an advise of a previous MOT amongst a service, all included in the price. Our technicians cleaned the area of oil, done the service and carried out an extended road test then checked for leakage. They concluded the oil was old residue left over from previous services carried when the filter was removed (very common). We spoke to you and even offered for you to instruct a third party such as AA or RAC to inspect for you. You point blank refused and demanded your deposit back. You simply could not afford the car or you decided it was not the car for you. We complied with our side of the deal you failed to complete yours. We have offer to keep the deposit on file for you to use against another car but your response and I quote ' I hope you all get cancer' That is totally unacceptable behaviour from a dad who's son is a doctor. We have since sold the car to a delighted customer and low and behold there is no oil leak...…..well there's a surprise ! your custom we simple do not want or need.
Found right car from good detailed description, helpful phone call to check and arrange visit, found car exactly as described. Not hassled by staff and allowed to inspect thoroughly and take good length test drive in my own time. Straightforward approach to sale- thankfully there was no 'pitch' or haggling over discount as already a good price! Car was serviced before collection and 3 month free warranty was reassuring. Car has been trouble free since and I remain very pleased with experience as not stressful at all. Thank you John and Shaun, definitely recommend Hillside Motors.
