Highly recommend using Inchcape based in Guildford. Ashley was the best car salesperson we’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We were not expecting to receive such an impressive level of service before and after we purchased a discovery for our family. Our previous experience purchasing cars hasn’t been very good (not from landrover). Ashley was hugely knowledgable and very professional. He had an excellent manner - nothing “salesy” about him however he made sure we got what we needed quickly. We met a few times and felt he was honest and trustworthy. He listened carefully to our requirements and made the process very enjoyable. If you’re looking to buy a car, book an appointment with Ashley. Absolutely brilliant and will recommend him to all of our friends/family looking to buy a car at this level. I was surprised to read some negative reviews about Inchcape in general as every member of staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. We’ve bought cars before and had plenty of stressful disappointing experiences but this made a hugely refreshing change. We took our three young children along and they kept asking to go back. Avril on reception was particularly wonderful at keeping them engaged and happy whilst we finalised paperwork. When Ashley was off work his colleague Eddie assisted us brilliantly. They both returned calls/emails within minutes. It was an impressive service. We were steadily supplied with coffees/tea’s, biscuits and colouring supplies for the children too. After we purchased the car a couple of minor things needed looked at and Ashley was incredible at organising the necessary specialists to attend to it immediately and return the car to us, The cars are worth their price tag when the customer service is that good!

I bought a new Range Rover from Inchcape in October 2023 for £142,000. In June 2024, only 8 months old it has issues with the cameras not working and the battery draining. I asked them to look at it and they offered me an appointment in mid August, 9 weeks later. Prior to buying the car they could not have been more helpful. Once that money is out of your account, the customer service will disappear faster than a Tory vote in the North East. Shocking!!
Took the car (range rover evoque) in as the engine warning light was on and our MOT was soon due and they said we needed to spend £3k to replace the DPF otherwise the engine light won't come off and the car won't pass the MOT. Took it to 2 other garages for 2nd and 3rd opinion and both garages said that was not true and recommended instead we spend £200 and get it cleaned by a DPF mobile van. Did that 5 months ago and all is fine. Also took the car in last year as air con was not working, after 3 visits, and spending money twice, (they let us off the 3rd time) they want even more money to find the issue. Will never go back here as have zero trust in them and they look for ways to charge for more items.
Vehicle taken in no coffee no biscuits didn’t want to wash car. Then found one keynot working after update. They will not pick up car leave another don’t have courtesy car until September. A disgrace appalling service can’t even check a software update !
Just had my Land Rover (cam belt etc)serviced and mot but on the VHC check I’m told that it urgently requires both lower control arms, a prop shaft centre bearing, one tyre which is 91% worn and a number plate bulb at a cost of over £3000 pounds on top of the £1240 service. I questioned this as I had done very little mileage since last year, and had just returned from Paris without any issues, so after the service the vehicle has its MOT which it passed with only 1 advisory the number plate bulb. It seems to me that monthly targets needed to be met and creative repairs were required. I almost sanctioned the work as it was apparently urgent, I have always had it serviced by a main dealership but after this experience it will be the last. I’m still waiting for a manager to phone me for a explanation on the VHC verses the MOT

I bought my Discovery sport from Hunters and have always had services and repaired by Hunters Guildford. Approximately a week after the last service the service light came on, so I rang hunters and they said they may have forgotten to reset, which they did while I waited. Approximately 7250 into the 21000-service period the service like shows again so I book it in only to be told the dilution rate is high and it needs an oil change (never even heard of a dilution rate) I had to make another appointment 5 weeks later to decide what to do with wires to brake pad wires and oil change. anyway, I took the car in and I was met by the most arrogant service adviser, the barley looked at me and had no interest in what I had to say he expanded if the car has done over 55000 miles Landover would not pay for the oil change, still didn’t fully understand why it needed an oil change after only 7250 miles and I clearly wasn’t getting it from him, I left taking my car with me. I rang Harwoods in Basingstoke and explained the situation to a service adviser there he explained fully what the problem was with the car, not happy with a car that is supposed to have a 21000-service interval and possibly having 2 oil changes between is hardly a 21000-mile service period anyway all booked in to have it done. I would never recommend Hunters Guildford to anyone very arrogant man when I said I was not leaving my car he stood up called to someone to get my car back didn’t look at me and just walked away. BE WORNED DO NOT USE THEM...

Please do not use Inchcape. The after sales / Servicing (Guildford) is just terrible. I have brought my car to them 4 times in 6 weeks for them to check our why the car was vibrating. They refused to test drive it (takes too long) and made me buy 4 new tyres for £1000 and said that would solve it. It didn’t and on the next trip to the garage they forgot to do anything, so completely wasted my time. When, I took it back a 3rd time they said it must be the prop shaft, so that cost £964. Obviously, that did nothing. Now, they have eventually found the problem, which is the break disks. Another £1,000. So, you need to waste £2000 to find the problem as Inchcape are only interested in increasing the bill rather than repairing. The customer service is incompetent and it is impossible to leave a complaint. There is no complaints handling procedure which show you clearly what they think of their customers. I have called them 10 times and they have never called me back and car has been with them for almost 3 weeks!?! When buying a luxury car you expect a certain amount of comfort after purchase, and Land Rover / Inchcape does not deliver, on customer service, quality of work and their primary value is how to make your bill the most expensive. Just a joke
After putting in interest, I had an enquiry callback from Stephen B, who was very clear and informative from the get go. I came in a few days later for a test drive and spent a couple of hours with Stephen and Eddie looking into several finance and part ex options. After going home and thinking about my options, Stephen kept in touch over the next few days, wasn’t pushy at all but indeed wanted to know what more he could do and continued to shop the best deal for me. I have decided to wait a few months before making the purchase due to other personal arrangements, but in a few months I will definitely be coming back to Stephen!
From the first phone call to test drive and delivery of the car i was very impressed with Salesperson Stephen Barleycorn. He came across as a very sincere and trustworthy individual who always kept me up to date on what was happening and even sent a video of the car at the showroom and on the enclosed transporter before delivery. It was a pleasure doing business with Stephen and i have no doubt that the future is very bright for this young man.
I would like to extend my gratitude to your Number 1 salesman, Jack Bristow. Hi calm, professional, demeanour, really gave us faith that he'd find our desired very specific spec of Velar /with a pano-roof. We didn't think that it was achievable. From Mayfair to Oxford, we searched far and wide. But fate brought us to Inchcape and the Bristow 'Velar Supremo' A true asset to Land Rover. I have also sent a note to head office to this effect. Well done again Jack!!
