I'll try keep this blunt as possible and let you guys make up your own mind. - I emailed to ask about a Mini Cooper for sale and asked if the car was both cosmetically and mechanically ok. To which I was told yes, everything is ok and it's been serviced and MOT'd. I asked because I wasn't picking it up, this was my wife, and she's not too good with cars in all fairness. - 1 day after car was picked up, I had to book it back in to have the rear axle bushes replaced as they were knocking really bad. To which the garage said it took 2 test drives before they noticed it, (took me 10 yards on my street) - Bushes have been fixed, (after a total of a 200 mile round trip, 4 journeys later. - Now the tyre pressure warning light has come on. Front Nearside had 15PSI, Front offside had 24PSI and the 2 rear tyres had around 23PSI. Warning light hasn't gone off as the front nearside is slowly loosing air, and is now down to 21PSI after 3 hours. This was on the same wheel/tyre that was apparently replaced prior to sale....... however the garage are claiming that this is NOT covered under warranty. - Trisha who works at the garage could not be any less helpful and blunt. Please do NOT get into any kind of email communication with her. You'll get dismissive answers, very very blunt replies and basically a level of customer service that certainly does not reflect the 20 or so years they have been trading. - The car in question is also very sluggish (even after putting more air in the tyres). Steering is heavy, acceleration is laggy, car judders in 1st and 2nd. This is a 1.6 litre Mini Cooper that has 120BHP. - The car was purchased for business use and had £600 worth of graphics put on. I've been offered a refund for the car but the garage will not accept liability for the £600 I've spent on the graphics, nor will they accept the issues with low tyre pressure. - The car has clearly not been serviced or examined prior to sale. It's had a quick valet and been put on the forecourt. My anger comes mostly because of the lack of customer service. The car can be fixed I have no doubt, but the sheer level of service from this garage is appalling (coming from a business owner myself). - The car is having an inspection via a BMW/Mini specialist this week. We'll see what they have to say in terms of the state of the car. If the car needs to be returned I'll get a refund and I'll chase costs via small claims court, plus a report to Trading Standards. - I'm 29 years old and been driving since I was 18. I've owned plenty of cars in the past, all been ok as bought from a garage. (one car I purchased had a slack timing chain - and this was fixed straight away) - however this garage is shocking. Avoid by all means.

We have bought a Mini Coupe. The standard of the vehicle was a match if not better than we could find in the dealer network. Extremely helpful and honest in our view a fantastic place to buy a car

Absolute joke!! Within a few months of buying my car I needed break pads/discs only to find out that the car had no rubber tube on the callipers which is why the pads/discs damaged so fast. The garage that fixed the breaks told me that the place that sold me the car would definitely have known about this issue. So basically they either let this car leave the garage in this condition without trying to sort it or they did a botched job on the car. I even took the car back and said the steering was vibrating only to be fobbed off! A few months after having these problems, the heating system in the car stopped working which turned out to be the motor. The mechanic told me that someone who knows nothing about cars has attempted and botched this. I’m not saying this issue was known by hut green garage but the breaks definitely was. I am now on a mission to give them as many bad reviews as possible to warn other people about buying from here. I’m only giving them 1 star rating because it won’t let me post without doing so!

Paul Browne in response to Awful!
ditto - I'm having the exact same problems with a car just purchased by Hut Green Garage. The level of service by these guys is shocking. I purchased a car and within 2 days noticed the axle bushes were knocking. Took the car back and they have fixed. However now the low tyre pressure light has come on. All 4 tyres were under normal PSI, with one of them at 15psi instead of 34psi. I've notified the garage and they're saying that this is NOT covered under warranty, even though the wheel/tyre in question was replaced before sale (so they say). I honestly don't think the garage check the cars before selling. Rear Axle bushes knocking and low tyre pressure on all 4, and the car has done around 100-200 miles since purchased. I've spent £600 getting the car stickered for business use as they told me the car had been serviced and MOT'd. I'm getting a 3rd party garage to check the car over before I make my next move. But I will 100% be taking this to Trading Standards. I'll happily return the car if they refund the £4,000 I spent plus the £600 for the graphics, but if not, I'll certainly be taking this through small claims court.
