Absolutely disgusted. Had my Vauxhall corsa from Hyams Autos since February, had nothing but issue after issue with it. Many times I’ve suffered with lights on the dashboard, I’ve taken it back to this garage and they didn’t do anything. They mentioned when I got the car it had recently been moted yet the horn was not working, which is illegal. I broke down a while ago and took the car to the garage the next day. They had the car for over a week to tell me they couldn’t do anything as they’re nothing wrong. Again yesterday morning I broke down. I was then followed by a mechanic to the nearest garage, who have been a lot more helpful and were able to fix all the issues wrong with it. £396 later, the car is sorted. Why Hyams weren’t able to sort the issue I do not know. Luckily every time I had an issue my 2 year old son was not with me. Will not be returning to this garage, and I would say no one else should either. Poor service, and rude employees

We were disappointed to read your new review, particularly as you had initially given Hyams Autos a great review and also your recommendation. Having spoken to the Workshop regarding your car we would like to clarify several points. As you said you purchased the car back on the 9th February, after which there was an issue with the turbo, which caused the engine light to come on and we happily replaced this for you under the warranty whilst you had a free of charge courtesy car. You then had apparently further issues with the car in May, and despite it no longer being under warranty, we took the car in, again gave you a courtesy car free of charge and kept the car for a while to thoroughly test drive it – our mechanics had no trouble whatsoever driving the car and found no faults. Further to this, in November now, and 6 months after the warranty had expired, you again apparently had issues driving the car, so our mechanics had the car for a two week period and drove it daily to try and replicate the issues you had when driving, again they could find absolutely nothing wrong with the car whilst they were driving it, despite thorough tests. Our staff are not rude, on the contrary they will do everything they can to help customers. The services we gave were beyond our obligations, however, we were happy to do so in the interest of customer goodwill.
Purchased my Fiat 500 from Hyams -nothing was too much trouble . Car is fantastic they fixed the minor issues that I found when viewing no questions asked. In response to some of the negative reviews I would like to point out that this is a small site with a lot of cars ,many of which are kept at another site so Hyams do need to know when people are arriving. I found all the staff polite, friendly and knowledgeable. I work for a main dealer and trust me you do not get the service that Hyams provide .. go ahead give them a try

I bought my car from Hyams Autos in Aug.. Having test driven a three door I wasn't happy it had the power I needed... Paul suggested a five door 1600 which I bought sight unseen.. Stupid.. But I had the trust that hynams knew their stuff.. I wasn't disappointed when I picked up the car... Two months later I had reason to get in touch again over minor things... Chris was extremely helpful and sorted out the issues without any fuss.. I would recommend this dealer every time.. Many thanks

I went to Hyams Autos because I was interested in buying a second hand car, however I went away buying nothing and disgusted at the attitude of the staff. The salesman dodged my genuine questions about the car and was generally unhelpful. When I asked to test drive it he said no and patronised me saying "you're not ready" which I had the feeling was to do with the car being a 4x4 and me being a young woman on my own. I was so taken aback that I forgot to mention I have had a completely clean licence for 10 years and drive large vehicles such as tractors as part of my job. When I asked how I am supposed to decide to buy a car without seeing if it even starts, he drove me around for 10 mins but would not answer my question about the creaking clutch pedal. Needless to say I did not buy the car after this experience, their salesman is severely letting them down and I would never trust them or recommend them to anyone on this basis.

Lovely chat line people. Badly let down by appalling sales staff at Hyam Autos. After several attempts to gain information about a car and each time being told someone will call back I’ve heard nothing. Car now sold.

Awful customer service was dealt with by a sales advisor , was rude not very helpful at all . Was traveling 60miles to purchase a vw polo he was very unhelpful , would not recommend any one to even bother considering travelling to this garage as they won’t keep a car there for you until your actually sat in your car and on your way there , you have to phone then to say your leaving and he will basically calculate your travelling time . Absolute joke . The car we was going to purchase is still in the garage 2 days later he hadn’t have been so rude we would have bought the car . We was that confident that we was going to buy the car I even changed my insurance over ready but I was told by him that was a silly thing to do .

Hi Kayleigh, Sorry to read that you weren't happy - particularly as you were travelling. Unfortunately we do tend to get quite a lot of customers who (I'm sure with the best of intentions) say they are on their way to look at a car and then don't turn up, so it is difficult for us to manage this. We also often get customer's walking in who buy the car immediately, so can't afford to turn away a potential buyer based on the hope that someone else is coming to look at the car. As we do our best to keep our prices as competitive as possible, we do tend to get people travelling from all over to come and see us and always offer the option of paying a deposit on a car to keep it for you, although this will not of course suit everyone. We do advise anyone interested in a car to ring beforehand, just to check the car is still available, as we don't want anyone making a wasted journey. I hope you have managed to source yourself a suitable car and wish you the best.
This company is very helpful and kind. If you ring up about an issue they usually help you with it that same day. Lovely employers, always have a chat and always talk to my 2 year old whos fascinated in their environment. Give you a loan car if your car needs looking at over a certain period. All in all, the best garage I’ve ever been to :)
