Bought second-hand van it had some minor issues which was quickly resolved by Ian Grieve.
Please if you share just one thing today, make it this warning as don’t want this happening to anyone else. AVOID Ian Grieve in Camelon (Falkirk) at all costs! My brand new 3 week old Jeep was taken there for recalibration and a tow truck reversed into it while it was parked (by them) in their forecourt. They now refuse to answer my calls and emails, and will not accept responsibility, nor put it through their liability insurance. Basically you take your new car there and they smash it up then refuse to pay for damages. Absolute sham of a company run by the rudest staff. Do yourself a favour and never use them for repairs nor purchases.

You are lucky they let you buy the car !!! would not sell me a jeep under Motability as they wanted more money for the car than standard Motability terms. Would only sell to a private customer to get more money. I understand times have been tough but hard enough being disabled without this sort of attitude.
I have today collected my delightful Suzuki Ignis Adventure from Ian Grieve. I am so thrilled. The Sales Executive David Driver is certainly an asset to your organisation. He was at all times, friendly, knowledgeable, and very courteous making it an experience I have never had before when buying a used car. Thank you very much.

I had the misfortune to buy a car from Ian Grieve Subaru and it was worst thing I ever done. Salesman David couldn't get me a test drive car was blocked in by other stock so agreed could do this on collection if needed. Move to collection date advised them in advance to change this so swapped insurance but had to call dealership twice ( red flags should have went up then) as about to switch to new car advised them will cancel as not driving to them with no insurance however agreed to go ahead. Couldn't see car properly as was howling gale and rain so take car home within a week realise one wheel they had refurbished is buckled, also tyre on passenger side has gouges out of sidewall. Go back to dealer and service manager Craig assures me car as safe this is despite MOT tester advising otherwise ( this done at local council depot only do MOT no repairs to public vehicles so damn straight with me) a few days later waxing car find a sub standard paint repair on car skirting and door. Have contacted finance company to reject car under CRA 2015 and taken t back to Grieve, Adam advised me he sub -contracts repairs and will try and remedy this but car is second hand so politely remind him CRA 2015 states satisfactory neither repair is also alloy wheel cannot be repaired as called into repairer first on way there, he adds MOT's are subjective well their not their kinda legal as if car fails it aint roadworthy so you know you sold an unfit car he agrees but will rectify this by taking a wheel from another car and swapping try and get paint matched well it isn't I was an apprentice painter in my youth and done better than his repairer lying seems second nature here- TLC not PLC no Taking le Cash and Pity le Consumer here is about right. Will never use again and thankfully have good legal backing if required.

Michelle McGuckin in response to Worst dealers ever
I’m having issues with them at the moment. Wish I’d seen this before I went near them.
This company's motto is "We're all about TLC, not PLC". My experience with Ian Grieve Ltd couldn't be further from that, and is without doubt my worst encounter with a car dealer in over 25 years of motoring. As I live over an hour's drive from the Ian Grieve dealer in Falkirk, I phoned to ask more details about the car I was interested in buying, a 4 year old Peugeot 508 estate with 53k miles. A deciding factor for me is that the car has full service history, I was told during the phone call that it did. Service history wasn't mentioned in Ian Grieve's online adverts. When we arrived at Ian Grieve and checked the service record, there was only one stamp in the book, at around 21k miles, when the car was 2 years old. We told the Ian Grieve salesman (Jamie) that we weren't willing to buy a car without FSH, and he assured us that it did have FSH, the last stamp had been omitted, but he could get the book stamped and up to date by the garage who last serviced the car. We agreed to buy the car on that basis and left a £200 deposit. This was agreed on a Saturday, Jamie phoned my wife on Monday morning to say the original service record had since been lost, but could be replaced with a duplicate book. My wife said that wasn't part of the agreement and after speaking to me, we decided to cancel the order. The fact Ian Grieve managed to lose the service record immediately set alarm bells ringing, it's very difficult to believe that a car dealer would misplace it. We can't be sure that the service record shown to us on Saturday even belonged to that car, neither of us saw a registration number or anything that identified the service book we saw as belonging to the car we were looking to buy, we just assumed at the time that it did, as it was in the car when we viewed it. Since then, we've been fobbed off over refund of the £200 deposit - firstly Jamie said the deposit was usually non-refundable (we weren't told this and received nothing in writing at the time) and it had to be escalated to a Sales Director for review. Once escalated, we've received no further response from either Jamie or the Sales Director Adam Grieve, and Ian Grieve Ltd appears to be ignoring any contact (it was month end though, which had already been used as an excuse for not replying to earlier contact)... not quite feeling the TLC. I noticed the adverts for the car were taken down very quickly, despite the fact we had already said we weren't proceeding with the sale - I wouldn't be at all surprised if they now hit us with readvertising costs, to justify holding on to our deposit. I've decided to use Visa's chargeback scheme via my bank to recover the deposit, as I'm certain Ian Grieve have breached the original contract and are unreasonably withholding refund of the £200 deposit. Ian Grieve couldn't meet the terms of the original agreement, they offered new terms with a replacement service record, which we weren't prepared to accept, so we declined their revised offer and pulled out of the sale. Even if Ian Grieve pays up before it gets to that stage, I would never consider buying a car from this company in the future. And it surely must be a breach of some law (misrepresentation?) or regulation to claim Ian Grieve Ltd is "all about TLC, not PLC". KYC might be more appropriate (Keep Your Cash).
