Bought a car for my daughter in January - the sales person was very clear in the reason why the car was with them and the cosmetic damage to the side of the car which meant it was on-sold to them to do up. He told me quite specifically that the work is done in their own garage, that they knew what damage was to the car and it was nothing structural or engine wise. So much so he was happy to five a 3 month warranty cos there would be no issue. I asked about the log book so I could contact the previous owner first but he told me they didn't have it and would be able to give me that information, When I kept asking, cos it was for my daughter and I wanted a SAFE car, he was very reassuring. However, when the log booked turned up, I did now contact the previous owner, who sent me some photos of the accident - very disturbing and nothing like the sales person assured me. Total lies. I immediately had the car tested by the RAC who say its only fit to drive straight back to the garage and be SORN. I-Drive were rude to my daughter when she rang with the new information, refuse to refund the full amount (refused to refund anything until I spoke to them) and I am disgusted they are allowed to let some one - anyone, let alone a young lady - drive away in a car that is clearly dangerous. This is criminal, my daughter could have been killed. They lie, cheat and clearly this shows that you can not trust them.

I have spoken to AutoTrader - where this company advertise most of their cars - and AutoTrader will do something about I-Drive if they have enough complaints about them. I have sent them the photos I obtained of the damage to the car and the RAC report I commissioned (a further expense I should not have had). If other buyers have similar evidence I suggest you forward it to AutoTrader email customersecurity@Autodrader.co.uk. This criminal activity must be stopped.

I purchased a car from idrive and I have never had a problem, such nice guys and my AIRCON needed regassing I took it back it got done straight away, the cars are best priced and Reading some of the reviews for minor things half of these are written for the sake of it and tarnishing a company that is very professional is unfair, I have read the positive ones and I'm also going to write my own review as they should be recognised for helping when needed.
Anne Shearing in response to AnneShearing
It isn't just the aircon not working (it doesn't as it happens) and they have never offered to repair (which they are supposed to). This car is dangerous. Battery so loose it could have disconnected at any time, other things so loose in the engine they were wobbling about at the slightest touch (again, some of those could be secured, but there has been no offer to repair the faults), chassis twisted and so badly repaired that if there was a need to break suddenly, there would be no control over the car. Again, no offer to repair the faults. Took the car back to them on Friday so they could have their own independent inspection carried out but they refused to take the car, accused me of sending them pictures of random a random car involved in an accident and accused my daughter of having done the damage herself (despite the badly carried out repairs - or maybe they thought she had done those, too?). We are talking about a dangerous car, not roadworthy, would not pass an MOT - I'm not talking topping up the air-con!! Whatever price I paid for the car, it should be safe and roadworthy, it's not about the odd scratch, its about peoples lives being put at risk, seriously at risk. It is about the lies told when asked the extent of the damage, its about the threat to park the car on double yellow lines if I left it with them to do their inspection (which they said they would do!). I'm sure they were very nice, they were very nice to me as well, when they were lying about the car so I would purchase it. Do yourself a favour and get in touch with the previous owner as I did and see what the truth is about your car, then get your independent inspection done and see if your battery is securely attached or the twisted chassis has been badly repaired.

Why would a company sell faulty car and not take it back or accuse the buyer. They wouldn't put their business at risk and neither would they turn back a genuine car I've had experience with them and they are very polite well mannered and will happily help you with anything you have purchased from them. I'm just thinking if people are going to buy a car then maybe take a mechanic pay a little extra and get your car looked at so in future your not left in the state your in now
Anne Shearing in response to AnneShearing
Well, that's more of an indictment than a recommendation - take a mechanic because IDrive (or whatever they call themselves these days) can't be trusted!! I hope others take your advice (worryingly, though, as I feel you were trying to make IDrive seem reasonable!!). I hope others on here who have had similar issues, have taken it to Trading Standards (going through CAB) - the more people 'out' these rogues, the better chance there is that they won't be able to do the same thing to any one else and potentially cause a serious accident with their dangerous cars.
Anon in response to AnneShearing
My complaint is almost identical to yours, I have just drafted a letter to Idrive today but not expecting much back - next call will be trading standards ☹️
From my point of view I found the saleperson to be very helpful at Idrive. There were no exaggerated claims they were very honest and no pushy sales, basically he told you as it is, I liked this approach which is why I recommend them. No problems still with my car since I have purchased it the car was nearly brand new and worth the money.
I purchased a Vauxhall corsa back in June, limited edition all black alloys and I loved it, the guys where ok just a typical dealership, let me take car round the block and as a young girl who didn't have a massive amount of knowledge purchased the car. I got part exchange on my old corsa which had less than 30k on the clock not much wrong with it just wanted a nicer car, with 700 pound back from this I then paid 4800, I drive advised I have 3 month warranty. I drove all the way back home to Wakefield and realised the horn didn't work, I took it back straight away and they fixed it, few months down the line it sounded like it had water damage and just made an awful noise, had some problems with the tyre which I then realised it didn't have a spare tyre, the corsa was a cat d don't get me wrong and they made it very clear to me that the car was all fixed, 6 month down the line the car cuts out all the time, I decided it's time to get it checked out only to be told that this car has not once been fixed, the door that was damaged which is why it was a cat d was still completely broken! I have just purchased a new car and got 2000 approx for the corsa that I previously bought for 5k I have never been so disheartened and upset because of how much of a mug I was. Do not ever buy a cat d or c car.

A reply to Aimee's review, You mention you purchased a car and soon as you had a problem we resolved it for you, now 6 months down the line if you have decided to sell the vehicle to another motortrader which they have decided to mention faults just to give you a low price which you accepted how are we responsible, if the car kept cutting out we were one phone call away always happy to help, if we did not hear from you how are we meant to resolve the issue as for a motor trader trying to get a bargain which he has indeed the car was fully repaired if the door was still broken I'm sure for the last 6 months the car would have been unusable, all it took was a phone call to resolve this if we did not help then fair enough but not to give a dealer a chance and leave a negative review due to another trader trying to make a big profit and ripping you off it not our fault.
Thankyou so much I love my new car I can't express how happy I am with your service. The car is spot on Iv had it over a month now and not had any issues. I was in two minds when I read the negotive feedback but then I thought positive as the big UK stores have bad reviews and as I know that you can't please everyone I went ahead and im very glad I did. Once again I wanna thankyou all for your brilliant customer service and a amazing car .
Bought a Ford Fiesta on the 28th July 2015 one or two bit that needed doing not done, had to take it back week after. Had to take it back on 29th Sept to have a new Inter coolant on (not his fault it broke) and to have a part put on front that was missing altogether, 2 weeks later car was ready to pick up, someone had been smoking in it and had also done 150 miles in it, 3 people had been riding round in it, but Zac who is supposedly the boss said not, but it was obvious by the state of the mats, and part was still missing, he said he hadn't put the part on because I had put a bad review on the internet, well now I have. It as been the worst experience I have ever had buying a car and I would not recommend him to anyone.

Hi I do not understand this review the car has had a problem with a few bits that were missing a courtesy car was provided for the problem to be fixed at no time have we refused to help always a phone call away and never refused to offer assistance.
Celia Lord in response to Margaret Hirst
Adding to my review of Dec 2014 I have now discovered there is no inner wheel arch to front near side, also the seat belts that are fitted are for a Focus not a Fiesta and to make them fit the plug ends have been cut off and soldered so that no fault would show up on dash and there is no pretentioners there either, so had we been involved in an accident these belts would not have worked, which could have ended up being fatal. It also needs a new headlight to off side as it all broken, it as now cost me another £1000 and who knows what else as it is due for MOT in a couple of weeks. Wouldn't touch then with a barge pole.
Warning! Always have a vehicle inspection carried out on any Cat car you plan on purchasing from i-drive. Cat D does not mean purely cosmetic as i have found out to my own cost to the tune of £218!! Had AA carry out a vehicle inspection (as i-drive refuse to have RAC carry them out but thats another story!) of the audi a1 2.0 tdi sportback - Cat d (allegedly) YE13 UGL. Despite being told by i-drive "its was just cosmetic, front headlight, bumper & side panel replaced" AA have confirmed that the car in fact has "previously sustained substantial accident damage, the body repairs were front bumper, bonnet, left front wing, windscreen and both left hand doors have been replaced. Of more significance was that a large section of the vehicles left front corner had been cut out and a section from another donor vehicle welded in - the left front wheel arch, left front sill section, left hand engine bulkhead section and left hand windscreen pillar. Basically the left front corner was obtained from another vehicle. These repairs were of poor quality. Rusting had formed in the welded joints." Quite frankly i think this car should be advertised as a Cat C at the very least, had it been i would not have even contemplated purchasing it. Of course i-drive were not honest about the extent of the damage to the vehicle but they are a used car sales lot so not surprising really and if i-drive claim to not know the extent of the damage to the vehicle as they buy in cat cars to sell on then i'd suggest they make more effort to ensure the vehicles are not structurally suspect!

Thanks for your lengthy review personally I don't think their was any need, You didn't care to contact us to voice your opinion but rather cause damage to a small business as large corporates will have a high profile solicitor sue you for lying and leaving false reviews. The vehicle mentioned is cat d and deemed so by an engineer working on behalf of the insurance company whom we don't have any relation with. How can we possibly change it to cat c just to make you buy it as that would be selling falsely. Would you rather buy a vehicle that has had previous damage and the panels have been replaced with new which was the case on this vehicle or would you rather have the panels straightened out and bodged up. You have failed to highlight the fact that the AA passed this vehicle and deemed it safe. I think you prefer for people to lie to you about how they use absolutely brand new parts and repair vehicles to a factory standard rather than someone like us who will tell you the truth about everything and leave it upto you to decide if its suitable for you. As all our feedbacks state that we are not pushy but rather customer friendly and go out of our way to resolve situations. Infact this very review company has sent us an email reading \On a personal note I would also like to applaud you on reaching out to all customers who have left negative reviews and resolving the issues for them. I apologise if sometimes we come across as harsh with our policies but this is all done for the best interests of our website and all visitors who use us as a point of reference before and after purchasing a car.\""

This person has never got this car inspected and either has visited the our site!! we believe it is someone that is trying to destroy our business and also please check this reviwe is not verifired.
AJ in response to AJ
Further to your nonsense of a reply I would like to add the AA did NOT pass the vehicle at all! I commissioned the report and have it in black and white and the AA inspector would not have told you it had passed and was safe as they do not disclose their findings to the garage when doing these privately paid for inspection checks as you well know. I think it is quite clear who is lying here and my review was spot on! I hope people do heed my warning and avoid jokers like you.
AJ in response to AJ
As you will see my review IS verified and cardealerreviews have been emailed a copy of the AA inspection report.
I blindly bought a vehicle from this dealer stupidly ignoring the negative feedback. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE. They sold me a vehicle less than two months ago, because of the distance to where I live, I did the transaction and payment over the phone and paid for delivery, I asked them if there was ANYTHING at all wrong with the car which they said, no, couple of days driving it and less than 50 miles, the car had smoke coming out from the engine, I took it to the local mechanic where he told me the head gasket is blown and that it will need changing and that will cost me £800 and that prior to that, the vehicle has been damaged and patched up inside pointing to pipes that have me serwd together causing the engine coolant to escape causing the head gasket to blow. I called IDrive and they were quick to push the blame to say they have nothing to do it. They have no intention of listening to what I have to say whatsoever and hanged up the phone on me. I will be taking the matter to Trading Standards and beyond if I have to. ******************UPDATE TO THE ABOVE REVIEW THAT HAS BEEN SENT TO CAR DEALER REVIEWS************************I will like to add an update to my review, the person in charge have now contacted me and apologies personally for the way the staff have dealt with my situation and have promised to resolve the matter fully by giving me the option of either replacing the vehicle or getting a refund for the cost of repair. Please dont let my experience deter you from buying from this dealer as I believe they do sell decent vehicles as per other reviews but just make sure you ask for Zara when you have an issue as she seem to be the only person that knows how to treat a customer. Thanks.
BEWARE DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS DEALERSHIP. They sold me a car which I later found out had clearly been in an incident which resulted in the car being badly damaged. When I asked if the car was a category car they said 'no'. I have been in dispute with the company but they refuse to speak to me on the phone or to reply to my letters.

This review has been left by unanimous person, to date we have always replied to all emails/phones and letters. If someone out there wishes to damage our business then please have some consideration.
I was up until recently dissatisfied with the service I received from iDrive. I had an issue with a wheel bearing shortly after the purchasing the vehicle but ultimately it was resolved and they are going to reimburse me for the costs. I have now had a more positive experience from this dealership.
