Saw a car I liked the look of, and put the details of my part exchange into their website. It gave me a value, and I was then contacted by a very polite sales person who organised an appointment. I drove for 2 hours to get to the dealer in Northampton. I waited for a long time before I was seen to, while the sales people milling around were dancing, being annoying and calling me "buddy" Some other people I was waiting with found this equally annoying. I was told straight away by the sales person that the p/x value they quote online bears no resemblance to what they would actually give you - this was before he'd even looked at it. I was also asked a series of questions such as "do you have a garage?" and "are you paying for the car from your savings?". Anyway, I test drove the car and it felt very tired - there were nicks out of the dash and door trim and the engine felt thrashy so I said I wasn't interested. Then came the hard sell - they got an alternative car, it was a lower spec, but not as tired - , and the sales guy went off to "negotiate on my behalf" with his manager for the alternative car. At this point my kids had got bored and I decided I didn't really want the car as it wasn't what I was after, so I said I didn't want it and asked for my car keys back as they'd been valuing my p/x. The manager then tried to sell me a 3rd car which I didn't want, and was holding my keys which he craftily wouldn't give back. I had to get stroppy with him to get them back. All in all, my trip to Imperial was a complete waste of time - other people waiting seemed equally irritated and I wouldn't recommend them. Under no circumstances should you travel there believing the part exchange quote they give you online.
Recently bought a car from IMPERIAL CARS SUPERMARKET- Northampton which was including the VAT you can save that money buying from elsewhere. For example if you buying a car for £10,000 then you are paying £2,000 just for VAT 20%. BEWARE!!! Please make sure you follow these tips before you buy any car from them. 1. You can find dealer where you dont have to pay VAT for second hand car. 2. Most of their cars are from fleet service so do not expect one or two previous owners. 3. If salesman keep going to speak to thier manager who sits behind the counter. BEWARE this is a sales trick. STOP talking to these sales person and ask that manager to come and talk to you. At the end of the day your salesman has to go with his decision. 4. You are defenetly paying over price for your new car if you buying from them regardless of what car you are going to choose. PRICE PROMISE GUARANTEE is just to make people fool. Please read the small leters in TERMS AND CONDITIONS. Then you will realise that it will almost imposible to find similar car and mileage within 40 MILES. BEWARE AGAIN!!! 5. If you still wanted to buy a car from them which is expensive anyway. ASK them to put fresh service and MOT on your purchase. GOOD LUCK if they agree with this. In my opinion you will never get it. 6. When you go for test drive PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you refuse to go they way they ask you to go because they know the ideal way where you will less likely to find any ratling noices. 7. They not only want to over charge you with price but they want you to take a loan on your new purchase so they get COMMISSION from the banks who lend you money with high rates. BEWARE by the times you pay your loan back you end up paying double the ammount you originally owed. BEWARE!!! 9. After few days If you change your mind to return your car back to them they then you will realise how mutch your new car actually worth. They will offer you really low price. REMEMBER that is actually your car worth. 10. Be carefull before buying thier MECHANICLE BREAK DOWN WARRANTY. They will use thier sales tacticts to force sell you these warranties after you made your mind up to buy your new car. BECARE FULL you cant cancel thier WARRANTY. Once you pay then its not refundable. It will cost you £££. Few hundred pounds. 11. I have been through all that above and I am very dissapointed. When I found similar cars war on sale a lot cheaper. Car itself is making rattling noices on rough roads. when I took the car back to them they said you have warranty call them. Warranty company told me that dealer should fix this problem. So I end up running from pillar to post. Definetely NOT good value ffor money. Please take care your hard earned money. All the best.
