I bought a car from JS Traders, Following 3 weeks identified that the gear box was faulty. Went to two garages, where they gave me a range of £1,200 - £4,000 to change it (Ford garage and local garage). Referred it to JS Traders and claimed the full refund of my money. The guy started telling me that they will pay me the insurance (£500) and that the insurance company will give me the money to fix the car, but I shouldn't tell them about the issue on the first place. Obviously, I have refused that 'amazing deal'. As I really needed the car, I proposed JS Traders instead of making the 'fraud' insurance to give me £500 cash and I would deal with the problem. Still have not received anything, but will bring this case to the court. The whole correspondence lasted for 3 months, and they were not responsive at all!! DON'T BUY FROM THEM, IF YOU WILL SAVE YOUR ENERGY AND NERVES.

After what seemed a helpful sale, when the vehicle developed multiple faults and we requested a refund, we were met with a very shouty, angry person, who refused to follow the consumer rights law, we are hoping this does not end up in the courts.

I am having the same problem, brought a car from him and he refuses to accept that the engine is faulty and js putting down to ware and tear, garage has told me it’s bottom end knock and a cylinder isn’t working and another is down on compression, currently in the battle of threatening court
Only had the car a few days & CD changer doesn't work nor the cigarette lighter. Rang them for help but didn't want to know. They said i should of checked it when i brought it. I said i was more interested in the fact the there, engine etc were OK not the accessories. Be careful when buying from this company.

We purchased a car they were very friendly and helpful however we had the car 3 days and the engine light came on. We were told originally that we could take it to any garage and the warranty would cover it as we live a distance away. We phoned and they said we were covered for any garage within 30 days of buying the car. We are now in the process of asking for 50% of the 500 it will cost to fix.
Had car 4 weeks and had issues since first week ... Multiple issues , Car has little power - missing , jumpy .. No service .!!! Air bags faults .. Coolant errors . Engine management come on ... Had a bronze warranty but not worth nothing and will not cover any issues .. Just terrible /

Did you get any further with this dealer? We have similar issue and requesting a refund under the consumer act - we are still within our 30 days, but he has turned quite angry now.
J S Traders have a lot of cars on their forecourt, mostly Audi's and BMW's. They knew the model I bought well and were able to take me through the dashboard and gave me some good bits of advice, the car itself was in superb condition and I've had no problems with it so far.
