I am so happy to see this company has gone bust. Really serves them right. I bought a car from them in 2016 and can honestly say it was the worst purchasing experience of my life. 2 horrible individuals. Every description of abysmal in the dictionary sums them up. Rude and arrogant. Good riddance.

I’ve not written a review until now due to an on going court case, court awarded me £630 in compensation, the court process is lengthy BUT don’t be put off. “my” mistake, NEVER again will I EVER deal with this lot and urge any person not to either, if anyone has any image of a “used car dealer” these are that!!....KEEP AWAY

Why didn't I read these reviews about JID Trade Price Cars and Commercials before I bought my Mitsubishi L200?! I am over 40 miles away from the 'dealer' so I could only really see once. Dan informed me that the car was getting MOT. Asked if I could test drive and he refused. When I went to purchase, i asked where the CD player was that was advertised? He fed lies saying it automatically puts this on AutoTrader..... The ad also states there was FSH, I took his word for this only to find 3 service stamps on a 13 year old truck! The canopy wouldn't open and when I asked Dan if he knew where the key was he said I'll have to drill the lock. There is an oil leak and two weeks after getting back the track rod end snapped off! Luckily I was 10 yards from home. If you are reading these reviews...... STAY AWAY!

Purchased an L200 easter 2017,no problem with pick up but traded in a SAAB 9-3 estate for £350 and still waiting for £200!Have made contact through emails and texts and Ben always replied with lie after lie!
I wrote a 'good' review recently, (the long one)! Since then, I have found problems with the car, (a week after purchase). When I contacted them with regard to some sort of recompense to help cover the cost of repair, and even knocking over £100 off the quote, Ben Hargreaves gave me attitude.(Pity I wasn't there so he could have said it to my face). PLEASE.., IGNORE MY PREVIOUS REVIEW. The car was supposed to have had 'Full service history from new', and was supposedly MOT'd just last March... NOT with worn bushes (most of them).., 3 holes in the rear exhaust box, Timing belt not changed, and No reversing lights it wasn't! When I mentioned this to Ben nice and politely.., Out came the verbal crap and name calling. And these people call themselves Car salesmen???? Bottom line... JID TRADE CARS ARE A JOKE ! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!
Firstly, after reading these reviews, I would just like to make clear that I am 'not' a friend/acquaintance of either Ben or his brother Danny. I am from the south coast well over 230 miles away. I saw some of their vehicles for sale on a well known auction site, and one in particular caught my eye. They were kind enough to take a small deposit and hold the car for a couple of weeks until I was able to get there to collect it. It was only AFTER paying a deposit that I checked company reviews, and admittedly, I was a bit wary as on occasion, as my calls were not returned either, and I had to chase them up. But respectfully, some of you need to look outside the box, meaning.., 'YOU' are not the 'only customer'. They have vehicles to clean/sell for others too. A bit of patience doesn't go amiss. Please, don't get me wrong, I am in no way defending anybody here, I'm simply giving my opinion and review., but here's a bit of food for thought.., Perhaps you should have given the vehicle a GOOD AND THOROUGH CHECK, ''BEFORE'' BUYING IT!! ( A bit of a 'no brainer' really). The car I purchased was as described. 1 or 2 minor jobs that need doing, but that's expected on any used car, and often even 'Brand new ones'. I notice that a few reviews on here say things like ''It broke down as there was no water or oil in it''. or something along the lines of ''it was a death trap'' or whatever. Respectfully, that is down to the purchaser to check before parting with any cash and driving it away as second hand vehicles very rarely come with any sort of warranty. On a slightly negative side though, IMHO, they could do with brushing up a bit on business acumen.., but they are both 'young' guys', but were polite enough. It perhaps would have been nice if they had called me by my first name when messaging. Let's face it.., If I was a car salesman, the potential buyer would be my 'best friend' (for a short while at least) Perhaps Ben and Danny, if you are reading this, take note. With regard to the car I purchased, as mentioned, it was as described, and I had no problems driving it back home whatsoever. ( A 16 year old Ford Focus, for those wondering). I have dealt with other second hand car traders in the past, and they ALL buy from auctions. Buyers just need to be aware and NOT judge a book by it's cover. CHECK THE VEHICLE OVER.., and if you're not happy, simply haggle, or walk away! You are NOT under any obligation to buy. I'm happy with my purchase. As mentioned, there are a couple of small jobs that I will sort later, but that was expected anyway. As stated earlier, I do NOT know these people, but I'm happy.

FOLLOW UP..., IGNORE THIS REVIEW!!!!!! I was the purchaser, and as it turns out, the car is NOT as described after all, unfortunately ! On further inspection, apart from 1 or 2 minor jobs that I was prepared to do myself, there is a considerable amount of 'more' work that needs doing. I contacted the seller with reference to a partial refund to cover this, (With a considerable amount off the total quoted to me, I hasten to add).., and the reply I got was pretty much the same as others who have reviewed these cowboys! Faults found include Timing belt not changed, worn bushes, holes in the exhaust box, no reversing lights. (so far)..., And this car is supposed to have a FULL SERVICE HISTORY FROM NEW?? and was given a NEW MOT just 3 MONTHS AGO??? Yeah, right! Looks like he needs to change his MOT tester. My guess is, the MOT tester is probably a mate. ENOUGH SAID !
I recently purchased a Vw golf tdi off Jid and were highly suited . The price was great and so was the service . We encounted a flywheel issue after about 2 months and Ben the sales guy had it sorted and fitted at his cost . I have had used cars before and been fobbed off but these guys were very reasonable. I will be buying again from them 👍

Just went to view a vehicle and looked fantastic, seller sounded honest. Meanwhile my partner checked online at these reviews so I challenged the seller and I said I was unsure about going ahead. In response the seller told me to "go f*** myself I'll sell it to someone else" and hung up on me. He's been found out and challenged and he didn't like it. Don't trust or even consider this seller.
Purchased a vehicle from JOD Trade Price Cars and Commercials to find under a week later it had severe clutch pedal problems. Wouldn't reply to any messages or calls in regards to replacement or help with the repair.
DEATH TRAP, DO NOT buy a car from JID Trade Price Cars and Commercials. I have purchased vehicles from HONEST & DECENT dealers for many years. Benjamin Hargreaves gives the motor trade a bad name. His ad stated “We are a family business and have be trading for over 40 years”. He has in fact only been trading since 7 March 2013. See Companies House No. 08435550 The vehicle: I handed over £8,000 -my largest car purchase to date, and with a very low mileage for year, on the face of it seemed to be good deal. I was reassured that the car had been serviced. I drove the car for a couple of weeks before I found little or no engine oil. The water was also very low. Before my holiday I put the car in for a full service at a reputable garage. They rang me with devastating news - The cylinder was cracked and engine had a deep and dangerous gouge in it. I was told the vehicle needed a new engine costing £10,000. I did in fact manage to find a garage who put me a secondhand unit in for £3,000. The car failed the Mot very badly with break pipe corrosion but shockingly I had driven 3 thousand mile with a sheared-off stud on the front wish bone – I feel lucky to be alive.
