I should perhaps start by saying that this transaction was initiated over a 150 mile distance, so I had reserved the vehicle without even seeing it. I felt that whilst this is not always the best way to buy a secondhand vehicle the website photos were good, clear, and detailed enough to look at bodywork and interior areas closely where they were for the most part flawless. My dealings with Simon were always polite and professional, he was helpful, accommodating and gave assurances that any remedial work would be carried out prior to me making a return trip of over 300 miles. Whilst Simon wasn't at work on the collection day, all the work we had agreed had been carried out and the paperwork was all in order. All in all, I found Simon and the John Darke Dealership to be amicable, professional and above all helpful. The vehicles offered on the forecourt were all prepared to a very good standard. Something I commented on with the staff. (A pet hate of mine, seeing vehicles offered for sale both on Autotrader or the forecourt that have not been washed never mind valeted before being presented for sale - puts me off straight away). Presentation of a bouquet of flowers for the good lady was a very nice thoughtful touch. I hope to go on and have many years enjoyable driving of my secondhand Volvo. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Went to these as they advertise themselves as a Volvo specialist and I had a fault with the turbo on my Volvo XC90. On the health check video they said there could be oil in my cylinders, would need to investigate the turbo and also potential fuel leak. Without looking into anything further they called me to say said they haven't got the part to test the turbo and that it needed a whole new engine rebuild and would cost £13k!!! It's a 65 plate diesel with 117k miles. They then wanted me to speak with the sales team to look at them buying the car off me and me purchasing a new one from them. I've just had it looked at by a proper Volvo specialist round the corner from where I live and in under 1hr they've come back and said the VNT Turbo is ceased up and there's a fault with the inlet manifold. All sorted and no problem at all with the engine!! Beyond terrible, Service Manager was a compulsive liar and next to useless. Avoid at all cost, they just want to rip you off!
Cost £200 did not find fault. Went to my local garage. Cost £10 and 20 pence clip Darks could not find faults should not be allowed to diagnostic volvo cars

We needed to purchase a car around the £12000 figure within a 48 hour turn around due to ours being beyond economical repair . Visited the website , visited the showroom , viewed an immaculate Vauxhall Astra with only 9k on the clock , stunning condition. Agreed a price, payed the deposit, car serviced , valeted and picked up within the timeframes. No nonsense sales pitch trying to sell me products I did not want , NO ADMIN FEE , unlike other car dealerships - what’s that all about !! Fantastic service , actually a pleasant experience with no hustle fro sales reps . That’s the difference between a family run firm and a car depot dealership . Thank you all at John Dark 👌

Such a shame as the sale of our ford ranger went very well and even considered changing our Volvo XC60 to a xc40 but oh how our opinion has changed, after having the ranger for 3 weeks the service light has come on...... checked the oil and it's black, this was obviously not checked before we picked it up, such a simple thing to and one you would have expected to be done, we now wonder what else was not checked ? I called them and the response is....To call in and they will take off the light ! John Darke Volvo Louth are not interested about the cost of a service. You don't expect to be forking out for that 3 weeks down the line.
Absolutely appalled at the treatment I received from John Darke in Louth. Would not take my technical input on a problem and insisted a DPF I had bought from them was blocked. After covering only 60miles, when the previous one covered 145000miles. Would not listen to me to get me to spend another £350 on something I didn't need. Because after a week of purchasing the DPF it would NOT be under warranty!!!!. I was then accused of expecting them to drop everything to fix my car when the car had been booked in already by another employee. I had to take the car to Volvo in Cleethorpes in the end, who were fantastic, booked me in immediately, offered me a courtesy car. Discussed the problem with me and fixed it with no questions. Extremely impressed with Stoneacre. And absolutely appalled at the attitude of John Darkes.

We are sorry to learn that you are appalled with the service you received by our team. I have looked into your complaint and can see that we did supply you with the DPF part but it was not fitted by our team or approved repairer. The technical fault you experienced arose from the incorrect fitting of the new part and the price we quoted was to rectify the work. Again we apologise if you were unhappy with our level of service received.
John Darke Volvo have rude staff, hands free in the car to the service manager to get a service update which would have cost an hour labour tops, and had to speak loudly and clearly bozo accused me of having an aggressive tone and not getting past his ignorance wanted me to hand him a blank check after putting that to him all i got was silence! Obvious admission of guilt! after repeated attempts to try to rip me off with multiple bookings to get one small update the arrogant moron kept asking me if there was anything else i wanted what a joke it's the £250 + for anything treat you like dirt if you're not club as I've spent well over a thousand pounds there in parts alone they are going to be lucky to get one penny for this put down from the start!

That is exactly the attitude I was faced with. Condesending and rude. I am an Aircraft Engineer and have a deadline of 5pm everyday to have 4 servicable B737's, no matter what.. with penalties that are more than this guys wages in a year, if one aircraft is 1hour late. And yet he spoke to me as if I couldn't tie a shoelace. Even I knew the problem with my car, yet all he wanted was another £400 from me, plus labour on something the car didn't need. Arrogant, ignoramous!.
John Drake Louth was local to us and we drive past it, when we bought our Ford they gave me really good service. The people that work there are very good and listen to you! There was no issues during the purchase, they did try and get more money but we got it for the price we wanted to pay. I would recommend this dealership.
