I saw a car online and booked an appointment for a test drive, I was asked about leaving a deposit to take the car off sale which I thought was a great idea as it would be a few days before I could get there and didn’t want to lose out. I was contacted before the appointment and told that their checks had picked up that the brakes need replacing and couldn’t get the appropriate parts in on time and would need to rearrange the appointment. I was initially upset as I had my heart set on getting the car for the weekend but upon reflection I am over the moon that they wouldn’t just rush the car out of door and forsake my safety. Once I collected the car I couldn’t fault it.

I would say AVOID J17 Cars at all times however some people had apparently some good experience.... Mine was a nightmare! I wanted to buy my dream car, a Jaguar, I thought it will be straight forward. I reserved the car and paid for it to be sure it will be available. After I had a look on the car and test drove it I had some objections about the condition and was told that the car will go through checks, services and MOT before I'll buy it. I wanted no deposit option and finance. After I was not approved by the finance company I just accepted that I can't have it and thought that was it. I thanked for their 'help' and said I won't be buying the car and then it started... I was told I can't refuse to buy it now as I had reserved the car and they apparently had other people looking at it but refused to sell as it was reserved for me ( just wanted to mention that on the website it says that reservation is not obligatory and refundable) however before getting checked by finance company I had to sign a 'pre-sell' contract as I was told 'to get my details into system' and after that I was told this was a binding contract and if I won't buy it I will be taken to court for contract breach and also accused of lost sales... I didn't believe what I've heard! After couple of days battling with them I've lost and was forced to buy the car under threat of being taken to curt and paying a lot more... so I got the worst finance available, had to pay £1000 of deposit under that finance got charged some other 'sales' costs and in the end the car wasn't even well prepared. After 3 weeks I had to change brake pads and discs as were distorted and they didn't want to pay for it and even refund some of the costs. My buying a dream car experience has changed to a nightmare with paying few thousand pounds more than I was able to pay, I'm still paying the debt on my credit card for this. They are using very aggressive sales strategy, they are tricking people into buying cars and after you start to have any doubts ir objections, from quite nice and decent service they go into rude, obnoxious and aggressive sale. I'm warning anyone who is still willing to get a car from them, be extremely careful and DON'T sign ANYTHING unless you are sure you will get your finance and you are happy with the condition of the car as you see it because they won't change a thing even saying they will....

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience with Junction 17. It is our aim to make sure that everyone has their dream experience when visiting our showroom. With reference to the brake pads and discs, these are consumable items that can go at any moment depending on the driving style of the owner - when buying a used car, you're paying a used car price. For this reason, we simply cannot change all of the consumable parts on the car and I can assure you that prior to the vehicle leaving, all parts of the car would have been checked and assured to be legal and safe. All of our cars receive a 140-point pre-delivery inspection and an MOT. Our order forms are not a 'pre-sale' contract and would never be described as that way, it's a contract that states if we have certain work done to the car, you're intending to purchase the vehicle. You would have been told about the terms of the contract prior to signing it, and we have these contracts so that we can securely have work done to the car under the condition that you're purchasing the vehicle. Our processes work in line with the FCA and we would never sell you a car that you didn't want to buy. Hopefully, despite the concerns you've raised, you're enjoying your new vehicle and haven't had any further problems. Alternatively, if you'd like to call up and discuss with myself about some of your issues, don't hesitate to give me a call. Thanks, Luke - Aftersales
I purchased a car some 6 weeks ago from Junction 17 in Peterborough as I was going home some 5 miles from the showroom a orange management light took it back and was told to take it back the following Monday as the workshop was closed at weekends. I took it back on that Monday waited while they diagnosed the fault was told to return the following Monday as they had to get a part, I return the following Monday left the car there was was no contact with me I phoned and was told they had not had time to get it in the workshop I finally collected the car the following Friday only to get 5 mile down the road and light came on again. I took it straight back and as the workshop was closed we arranged for me to take it to my local garage. My local garage gave them a list of repairs that were required to make the car roadworthy after another week they desired to carry out the repairs themselves after another week I got the car back being assured the repairs had been completed only for the management light to come back on, I took it straight back and again being a weekend I was told back on the Monday. I took it back to my local garage for an inspection only to find out none of the repair required to make it roadworthy had been carried out then phone the junction 17 suggesting they have the car back, I was told I had to contact a person called Neil in writing was given an email. I contacted this person by email, no reply, sent a second one 4 days later asking for a reply still no reply another 2days later still no reply so a 4th one 2more days later stating I would call-in the showroom on the following Monday which I did only to be told there was no one there that could talk to me. After same time I managed to get a phone number for this Neil person . I phoned him and explained the problem, he said to forward all the reports to him and he would look into it, all relevant paperwork I sent only to be completely ignored again, some 7days later and 4 more emails not an email of acknowledgement. We are coming up to 7 weeks and the car has been on the road twice both time management light came. To date nothing has been done to resolve the problems. I would NOT recommend any contact with this company.

Hello Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had the best experience with Junction 17. We aim to make sure that whenever someone leaves with one of our cars, they're one hundred percent happy with their purchase. It sounds like your main issue is with the garage that we source our work to, and not the dealership itself. We may have acted as a middle-man for the arrangements for your car, but we have no input in to the work done with your car. Please feel free to contact me personally if you'd like to discuss your review more, because I'd like to make sure that we resolve your issues. Thanks, Luke - Aftersales
Partner part exchanged her car with Junction 17. She had not recived a V5 for her new car after 2 months so had to apply to DVLA for a new one. Too add to her frustration the car she traded in was not registered properly to the garage/new owner and she's now recieved multiple fines for a car she doesn't own. She has contacted Junction 17 to ask for paperwork to be completed and has received no support from them. Very poor aftercare.

Similar experience, sold me a car with no v5 wouldn’t respond to emails in the end had to apply for my own v5 by contacting dvla. After sales is shocking for a “prestige garage”. would avoid
I bought a car from J17 a few months ago and up to now I've had now problems to report. The car was a good price. Helpful.
