I had rang Kendal Honda on Tuesday 20th Feb about a 2015. 65reg black honda CRV with 25982 miles priced £17465 they had for sale. Part of the description said 'this beauty of car with excellent bodywork'.I spoke to a salesman called Ian Collis and after getting all the details of car I was persuaded it would be a good buy and was exactly what we wanted. I said my wife I and would be travelling down from Morpeth in Northumberland by train and as we had to change twice and it being quite expensive i needed to be assured that the car is as described and bodywork is excellent,i said we don't want come all that way and find it covered in scratches etc.I was assured it was as in description so we paid a £500 deposit refundable if not as described .We travelled down by train on the Saturday morning hoping to view and test drive car and pay the balance by miday and drive it back home.On first viewing the car the with salesman Ian I noticed lots of stone chips ,scratches and marks on the bonnet and then on taking more time to examine the body was surprised at the number of scratches on the bodywork of car and a ding in boot lid The back tyres also needed replacing.The car had not been valeted, there was dried mud under the front car mats! The bottom inside of the doors were all dried mud..I was astounded and disappointed to say the least and said so to him and that we would not have come to see it if I had known what the true description was.He then tried to persuade me to buy it saying he would get the bonnet resprayed and bodywork done if I would complete the purchase today .He would then travel up on the Monday to our home, leave a courtesy car and take the CRV back with him get the work done and deliver back to me .After taking another look at car and discussing it with my wife I decided just to ask for my deposit back,i had paid by Mastercard .I was informed it could not be done on Saturday but would be first thing on Monday.I have had to ring the garage today Thursday 28th to get the refund back, eventually was told it would be done today. .PS.the only positive thing I can say about this is that we were collected by garage from nearby train station when we arrived. Told by salesman no one available for lift back to station so had to book a taxi to take us but on walking off forecourt Ian came out and said look I will drive you back to station. It was disgraceful the way this was handled and what they tell you cannot be believed.

Kyle at Kendal Honda is one of the most inept salespeople we’ve ever encountered. He wasted 90 minutes of our time with his 20th century sales pitch, and only showed us cars on an iPad. The experience was so frustrating we went down the road and bought a Suzuki. Talking with friends later, they had a similar experience, went in to buy a Honda CR-V for cash, they became so annoyed with Kyle and his manager, they also left and bought a Hyundai elsewhere. Honda May make great cars, but they also appear to have the worst dealerships.

Kendal Honda is a used car dealership basid in Cumbria located just a few miles off Junction 36 of the M6 motorway. They are open 7 days a week.
