I recently spoke with a sales representative from Kennedy Cars on the phone, enquiring about one of their vehicles which I was interested in buying. I wished to purchase the car by part exchanging my car and paying the remaining balance (roughly £1500) in cash. The sales man I was spoke with said he would do some calculations and ring me back. Two days later I had heard nothing so I tried ringing again. Spoke with the same sales man who apologised and assured me that he would call me back later that day. Almost a week later and I have still not received a call back. What was frustrating, and slightly bizarre, was when I spoke with the sales representative the second time he explained that his dealership wanted to see a minimum of £2000 to "play with" from every part exchange deal. I appreciate honesty and cannot fault the sales man for his honesty. However, it became apparent that I was in effect being penalised because I had a good vehicle which commanded a good trade-in value. I have had other trade-in valuations for the same vehicle from other dealerships all ranging between £7000 and £7600. Two dealerships were willing to actually pay me the difference depending upon the value of the car from their stock I was looking at! What was also abundantly clear was that had I been looking at a £20,000 vehicle from Kennedy cars, I doubt that there would have been any hesitation from this dealership to snap up my car. This is unfair and poor business practice. The trade in valuation is the value of the customer's CAR . It has nothing to do with the potential car the customer is buying. Each business is free to choose their own business model and run their business their own way, granted. However, in my opinion, Kennedy Cars have a slightly bizarre and unfair trade in policy. They are happy to accept in cars for trade in, provided they see a minimum of a £2000 cash payment as well. Obviously if the customer wants a like-for-like vehicle and not a huge upgrade, this will not always be possible. As happened in my case. A startling example of a car dealership and it's owners wanting to have their cake and eat it.....

Seen more Police cars outside Kennedy cars in bargeddie again another unhappy customer when is that company going to learn or more importantly people. "Beware"
These are absolutely terrible. Bought a car, not even a month and its non road worthy. They out source their MOTS and try bully boy tactics when you call to complain

Nice friendly staff, excellent value for money. My Kia Sportage is tip top. Fantastically clean and sparkling inside and out. The alloy wheels were cleaned up for me free of charge. I expected to have to spend some money on it when I took it in for a service and check over but it was fine and didn't need anything major doing, The coolant needed replacing as it was mainly just water but other than that it was great. All of the electrics work as they should. A great low mileage car for a good price. A 5 hour drive back home with it from Glasgow (with a couple of breaks) was worth it, thanks very much guys.
