I have brought many cars from Roy over the years and hope to buy many more .nothing is a problem always really valated very well .never a problem .no sorry I did have a problem with one the indicator bulb went .but soon got fixed by my 12 year old son .when you buy a second hand car you or the garage don’t no if you are going to have a problem .but it is sorted out very quickly or as soon as the garage can fit it in as they do have other work booked in .Roy is a good guy I have known him for 30 plus years and that says a lot .he is not a magician but he does try .keep up the good work mate
I feel like I have wasted so much time on buying cars from here. I don't think it was necessarily my luck, Two cars were brought, and two cars returned with problems. I tried to be patient and understanding, however, I began to notice a pattern in excuses, after all I've paid for two cars, one ended up having an oil leak from the sump and being a range rover, the whole engine needed to be removed to get to the effected parts, as informed from Gratec, and Landrover main dealer, so I shopped about to find a solution before going back to Roy. He agreed to swap the car for an Audi Q5, and I paid an extra £1000. Car had allegedly had a gear box fault in the past and been repaired by ATM in Mersea and been remapped. I drove it Crawley and limped home as car was making a terrible noise, I took it to a garage amd he noticed that under the bonnet and EGR plug had been undone amd reconnected it, straight away I was having Gear box malfunction warning coming up and the car was slipping in 3rd gear. I took it back to the garage and Roy sent it away for diagnostics (to mersea) I took a photo of the mileage when I dropped it off as I felt I'd been caught with the range rover. The car had done 0.8th of a mile, mersea is 18miles away. When I questioned the movements of the car, the story changed somewhat. I asked for my money back and was refused, he would try and source me another car the same as the audi, or take out an extended warranty on it and hold on to it for a few weeks and then make a claim. I found one, gave him the details and he just fluffed about. I spoke to the guys selling the guy daily and he hadn't received any communication from Roy, finally I got my money back, strangly enough, the next day the audi was back up on his forecourt, after being valeted. All my personal belongs were still in the car as he had been to ill to go the work for me to get my stuff, finally managed to get my stuff, well most of it, I've lost my reading and everyday prescription glasses, one of my sliders was thrown away, I have lost all my cds, all my chargers. The car has not been fixed, I understand it must be difficult being a used car salesman, but sell decent cars and get a decent reputation. I wish I had listened to what people told me about Kerrys Motors. You know it's bad if the garage next door won't touch his cars
I have waited 6+ months to write this review as I wanted to wait until after the completion of the legal action I was forced to take against Kerry Motors – which resulted in a County Court Judgement against Kerry Motors/Roy Franks. I bought a Saab 93 Estate (KU08EXX) in March 2021 from Roy at Kerry Motors. Within 3 weeks of owning the car, it had broken down on 3 separate occasions (each time going into Limp Home Mode, with an accompanying dramatic loss in power – once even happening on the A12 at 70mph). Kerry Motors took the car back to be fixed on 2 separate occasions, the second time I believed that an important sensor would be replaced – I subsequently found out that this not replaced at all (I checked with Kerry Motors preferred mechanics and was shown the sensor still in its packaging). After 3 weeks of owning the car (including 1.5 weeks of time being fixed) I asked to return the car, Roy was extremely difficult to get in contact with but when I did manage to see him (I waited at his office for 4 hours) – he flat out refused to take the car back/ refund me, he instead tried to convince me to let him have a 3rd go at fixing it, When I refused and then he became extremely rude and accused me of lying about the problem before throwing me out of his office. I was then forced to take legal action against Kerry Motors. Roy chose to ignore all the letters I sent him and the court summons/court paperwork. This led to the court automatically ruling in my favour and placing a CCJ against Roy Franks/Kerry Motors. Roy then chose to ignore the CCJ, and I was forced to escalate this into a High Court Writ. I was then able to instruct a firm of High Court Sheriffs (bailiffs) who were finally able to get my money back for the car. After a further month of waiting, Roy finally contacted me to arrange pick up of the car. I would not recommend buying a car from Kerry Motors at all.

Brought a little auto car a few months ago, had a teeny issue and went back and Roy and his mechanic sorted out the problem. 3 months warranty is definitely there for a reason. Wonderful experience all around, Roy was very helpful and polite every time
