Shady outfits like these give used car sales dealerships a bad name. Do NOT do business with them. There are plenty of reputable garages out there.

Thankyou for your review sorry we can not find any record of a vehicle you bought from us could you please clarify ?
I'm going to give Kirby cars 10 out of 10 just purchased a van from them. So helpful, was a pleasure doing business with them, thanks to all the staff.

The guy from Kirby Vechile Sales says he left school in 1982. Company house says he was born in 1971. So he left school at 11 years old did he? What else does he lie about. Warranties. Gives you one month. By law you're supposed to get three months. The man is arrogant. If been subject to abuse from him in his showroom. Stay clear.

Thankyou for your review. but please get your facts correct. the manager of a business is not necessarily the owner. so the owners details would be on company's house records not the manager. Thankyou for your in accurate view.
Be aware when they say a car has 'Service History'. What they mean is no receipts (not even for the work they claim to have had done!) and the service book has not been stamped for three years. It would be a stretch to claim it has part service history. Very rude when challenged - almost defensive and I was accused of expecting too much. Yet when you walk round the lot it says he prides himself on Customer Service and the customer is always right etc etc. If the after sales are like the pre sales I'd say I had a lucky escape! I've noticed you can't review them on Facebook - no I know why !!

After a pleasant time buying the car from Kirby's, I picked it up a week later. Got the car home and noticed a strange noise coming from the engine. I didn't think much about it at the time. The noise was subtle and sometimes it would be louder than others. I did some research on the net and found out that car could have some problems with the timing chain. I was given 6 months bronze level warranty by Kirby's so the morning after, I gave Warranty Wise a call. They didn't have any record of my car on their system (this was almost 2 weeks after I bought the car). I called Darren, told him about the noise and not having any warranty. He said he'd 'forgotten to put it on'. He was happy enough to take the car in for it looking at and reassured me that it would get fixed. I'd had the car for one week and it was back at Kirby's. A day after he said he would look at it, I got a call from Darren who said the car was fixed and ready to be picked up. After collecting the car, I was handed an invoice for the parts, all free of charge. Started up the car and I couldn't hear the noise. On the motorway the same day, the ABS light starts flashing on the dash. I had no brakes and no acceleration in the inside lane. Luckily it was quiet or it could have caused a serious accident. I limped the car back home in the outside lane. My trust in Kirby's was pretty much zero at this point. They must have known something was wrong with the car if they changed some parts (if they ever did change any at all.) So I took the car to a BMW dealer and paid to have the car checked properly. It came back with 2 major faults. They handed me an estimate for £3500 to carry out the work that needed doing to it. I'd just spent all of my savings on the car and was enraged. The car needed new driveshafts and replacement parts for the timing chain. I went to Kirby's to see Darren and gave him the estimate. I asked for a refund as I didn't trust him to carry out any more repairs to the car (I wasn't offered a repair either). Darren refused me my refund and said that the car was fine. We were there for almost an hour listening to him saying the car was fine. It clearly wasn't fine and his excuse was BMW just wanted to get as much money as possible from me and made up the faults. However, the BMW serviceman knew that I wasn't going to get the work done with them and was seriously concerned that I was driving the car the 10ish miles back home due to the ABS issue. I left Kirby's with a car I shouldn't have been driving. He didn't offer a solution and I had to leave feeling cheated. A few days later after sending a letter as a prelude to legal action, Darren calls and offers me a partial refund. He claims that the car is fine and it cost him money to sell me the car. Still refusing a full refund. He wanted to keep the money he spent on the warranty and 'prep' for the sale of the car. I later received the warranty documents in the post, and to my surprise, Kirby's had put the Gold level cover on the car when on the sales invoice, it clearly said bronze level. I guess this was because they knew the car had faults and were trying to cover the costs. I took a higher but still partial refund to just resolve the matter. In the end I lost almost £400 for over a months worth of hassle, anger and a car that I had in my possession for 2 and a half weeks. If your'e lucky enough to buy a car from Kirby's that doesn't need any work doing to it then I'm sure it's a pleasure but if something goes wrong they turn into your worst nightmare. They totally ignore the law and try to play you, denying all responsibility. I'd stay far away from Kirby Vehicle Sales Ltd. 100% untrustworthy cowboys who have zero care for their customers. I see the replies by Kirby's to other bad reviews on this website and wonder what creative nonsense they will reply to this one.

Purchased a 4007 on 10 September '16 from Kirby for my wife, I've waited a month before giving feedback to make sure all was good, it has been. We dealt with Steven who was very helpful and did all the little jobs to the car that we pointed out. When we picked the car up it was all done and looking and running well. I would deal with Kirby again, good honest service and no blagging from the staff.
Purchased a Subaru Impreza the vehicle has been perfect ever since i drove away with it, couldn't ask for a friendlier and helpful service, would recommend to anyone.

Thank you for your valued custom. Was a pleasure doing business with you.
Bought car in February, 3 weeks later ignition key failed, no problem , locksmith sent and programmed another 'vauxhall' key to the car, not vauxhall key but works ok, requested 2nd key but would have been £60 so refused as just paid £4500 for the car. I was naive with the warranty I admit and was not told pre sale about extended warranty and when asked when paying was told it was free but not told just for a month, presumed the usual 3 months. The car was then recalled by Vauxhall for some updates and when I collected the car was told oil in the water reservoir. Rang Kirbys and was told Vauxhall must have put it there! Been trying ever since to talk to 'Nigel', he did ring once but missed the call. Too long a story to put in this review but taken advice from CAB and Trading Standards and is ongoing. Presume this post will not last long on here. do NOT recommend Kirby's at all and feel very let down by what I thought were nice Yorkshire lads. I am a pensioner and hoped the car would last a few years

thank you for your review please note you was told our cars come with one month unconditional warranty (if it is faulty we will fix it ) this is written on your receipt you was also told about extended warranty, yet refused this as you declined to pay the premium , at point of sale you was told vehicle had only one key, which is common on a secondhand car , the car was sold fit for purpose ie had a 12 months mot at point of sale, we sold you the car in 2015 and months later you expect us to repair this vehicle which is unfair, i'm sorry you had a small issue but cars do go wrong i'm afraid; i feel your feed is unfair and not a true reflection of my company as we have thousands of very happy customers i did try on several occasions to contact you and no reply, or your friend whom i spoke to did not pass the message on regards Nigel
I bought a mondeo 1.8 econectic 7 weeks ago, had problems the first week i rang them up they was happy to fix it so i picked it up the same day and all was good. The week later it broke down, it had a list of jobs that needed doing so again i brought it back they had the car for 4 days so off i went again 70 miles to pick it up and the car seemed to run really good then 5 weeks later the alternator packed in so i rang the garage up which i was told that isnt they problem any more because my 30 day warranty was up and because i was planning on putting it on as my new new taxi they wouldnt be interested in fixing it then the abs and traction control light came on all car went into limp mode its cost me £260 for the alternator and £90 to fix the abs and now the car has completely broke down, its sat on my drive good for nothing and has major engine failure, i havent even made my second finance payment and i feel ive been let down by kirby vehicle sales. My whole experience of buying a car on finance has been the worst experience of my life. Its been one big expensive disappointment.

Customer failed to state this vehicle had done over 7000 miles in the five weeks he had it ,he also failed to state about the 14 items we paid over £950 to please him he also failed to tell you the 200 mile round trip journeys to collect his car and drop him home We then found taxi radio wiring installed in the car and checked he was using it as a taxi hence the mileage I think this customers review is most unfair as we stand for quality and fairness and honour our warranty but not when it's been run 24 hours a day as a taxi
Good, honest people to deal with, this is the second car I've bought from Kirkby Vehicle Sales as the last one I bought was excellent and hasn't had a single fault. I'd recommend this dealership without a doubt.
