Malik was great from the start to all the way through to help me with the insurance. I will definitely go back for another car in the future

Recently, I purchased Audi Q5 from Klaw Motors which was imported from Japan. They claim "We only sell cars that have passed their SureCheck (gold standard) and their vigorous and comprehensive vehicle checks which are above and beyond industry standard requirements. We check everything from the bonnet to the boot, including engine suspension, brakes, steering & tyres" - I would disagree! In the four weeks I had the car which I have now returned, I had issues with the radio unit which was crashing the MMI system that cost me over £1000 to fix (Klaw Motors did not contribute to the cost of this, which was very disappointing) and burning oil was passing through the exhausts. If you're going to buy a car from Klaw Motors I suggest getting a full inspection before purchasing or this could leave you out of pocket! As I have lost over £1500 through diagnostics, a new radio unit, updating the Sat Nat and countless journeys to different garages.

KLAW MOTORS from KLAW Motors in response to Too good to be true!
Dear Anonymous, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We genuinely regret hearing about your experience and would like to clarify the situation from our perspective. When you purchased the Audi Q5 from us, you seemed happy with your choice and praised the car while driving it. We advertised and described the car to the best of our knowledge, and we take great care in selectively choosing our cars from Japan. Our sale to you was conducted organically, with no issues initially reported. A week after your purchase, you decided to install a dashcam and ghost immobiliser, which was entirely your preference. Unfortunately, after these installations, you began experiencing problems with the car’s MMI system. You reached out to us for advice, and as a goodwill gesture, we offered a full inspection of the radio system at no charge, despite your offer to pay us £100. However, this inspection did not resolve the issue. We had an independent Audi MMI specialist onsite who suggested that the dashcam or ghost immobiliser installation might have caused the problem and also it was draining the 12V battery. You visited Halfords sameday to get the battery checked where fortunately the member of staff who checked the battery was a professional dashcam installer aswell and confirmed that the battery was in perfect condition and pointed out that the dashcam installation was not done correctly, resulting in damage to the car's electrical components and also battery drainage. You informed us of this visit and arranged to have the installations removed, but the damage had already occurred. You then informed us of receiving a quote of £2400 for repairs from a garage. We again assisted by directing you to another garage that fixed the radio for £375 plus VAT. You also chose to update the software on the radio, which was your own decision. After driving the car for 1700 miles over four weeks, you reported an issue with the car's oil consumption. We immediately offered either a repair or a full refund. You expressed relief and appreciation for our willingness to take the car back and requested time to consider and consult with your wife, which we granted. Following the long weekend, you asked for additional days to remove the installations, which we also agreed to. We proceeded with the full refund, offering to pick up the car free of charge from your location 70 miles away and waiving any charges for the car’s usage and valeting. However, the day before collection, you requested us to reimburse you for the repair and software installation, even though you had already agreed that it was your own responsibility . We declined this request. On the day of collection, we issued a full refund. It is disappointing to see a review that does not reflect the full story and suggests we did not attempt to assist you. We also want to emphasise that we do not sell cars with known faults. There was clearly no fault at the point of sale, as evidenced by your report of the issue after a month of use. We strive for fairness and transparency, and we believe this review does not represent the actual facts of the situation. We appreciate your understanding and hope for a resolution. Thank you, Malik KLAW MOTORS

UPDATE in response to KLAW Motors: I agree I was overjoyed when I purchased the vehicle (who wouldn't?), however, the matter of fact is that Klaw Motors installed a Car Play system to hide the fact that they installed a dodgy radio unit, which ultimately crashed the MMI system. No full inspection was ever done by Klaw Motors as they claim, as they are not specialists in this field. What's worse is that Malik informed me not to inform my wife as we purchased an expensive vehicle. To reiterate, the issue was NOT an issue with the dashcam or ghost immobiliser, which Klaw Motors claim "I began to experience problems" – THESE WERE RED HERRINGS! Just to highlight this point, in the first days of driving the vehicle, the MMI system would simply crash, but I just simply reset the MMI system, which I did report to Klaw Motors. Another false claim by Klaw Motors is that 1700 miles were driven and the car's oil consumption was reported after! I first reported the issue with the oil two days after purchase. Malik stated that the vehicle had an oil change and the vehicle must have been on a hill. After replacing the radio unit, Malik agreed to pay £150 for the new radio unit but stated that he would do it next week, which he did not. In addition, I stated that I was getting an inspection of the potential oil leak, thinking that there would not be an issue as Klaw Motors claim go above and beyond the normal assessments - wasn't I wrong! Furthermore, I informed Malik that I had updated the Sat Nav software when replacing the radio unit (again) assuming there were no other issues. "There was clearly no fault at the point of sale, as evidenced by your report of the issue after a month of use." - A bogus claim. Another false claim by Klaw Motors is that 1700 miles were driven and the car's oil consumption was reported after! Klaw Motors offered to collect the vehicle knowing that they sold me a car with a dodgy radio unit that had an oil leak (burning oil), and because I was a good person, they offered to collect the car with a full refund. - What about all the costs I have endured? Klaw Motors emphasize that they do not sell cars with known faults; this is far from the truth. Ultimately, the main reason why this vehicle was returned was the oil leak (burning oil). I would have been happy to keep the vehicle otherwise, and the statement below is far from the truth: "As part of our comprehensive pre-sale inspection, we road test all of our cars on a variety of roads from slow country routes to fast dual carriageways. We check the car accelerates frictionlessly and brakes smoothly, as well as listening out for unusual noises. Below are some of the minimum assessments we do as standard, but much more is checked."
