I've just noticed this previous customers review, on checking our records she purchased a VW Polo from us on 20th October 2016. Details on the purchase are shown below - I feel there is a need to reply to her review has her comments makes a slur on our business portraying we take care in providing a car to the best of our ability at point of sale. We sold the vehicle with an MOT test undertaken on 17th October 2017 mileage was 37571mls, vehicle passed with no fails or advisory. At point of sale the vehicle an excellent service history. 2. Customer contacted us many weeks, (not three weeks) after purchase she advised her car had a noise from a ball joint, at that time she had covered over 1000mls . I advised her that a ball joint is a wear and tear item and that depending on driving and road conditions in winter time suspension parts may sometimes fail. Customer did not contact us 3 weeks after purchase. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vehicle Registration Number SW56 BPU this will allow you to check all details on my reply below from DVLA MOT history check website I've checked MOT History on DVLA website and note that since purchase this customer has covered 9033mls. The failing on the MOT she refers to is listed below and I will comment on these fail issues at the side of each. Most I feel show she's been driving her car without showing a continuing responsibility of checking the vehicle. On checking the MOT failures it clearly shows there has been no care and diligence shown in a continuing care of her vehicle. If you are travelling almost 10,000mls per year in a 1.2 VW Polo of eleven years old there surely needs to be acceptance you have a responsibility regarding maintenance costs. MOT's were introduced to ensure we all have a safety and confidence on the roads and are protected from dangers that cars like this that aren't cared for pose to all. MOT Fail 18th October 2017 - 46604mls Reason(s) for failure Horn not working (1.6.2a) - ANYONE DRIVING A CAR HAS A RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIR IF THE FAILS Offside Front Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2) - THIS BE RECOGNISED EASILY AS NEED FOR REPALCEMENT Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid (8.2.3) - AGAIN AS ABOVE I'M BAFFLED HOW SOMEONE WOULD NOT RECOGNISE THIS Front Brake pad(s) less than 1.5 mm thick (3.5.1g) - SURELY WEAR AND TEAR AND NORMAL MAINTENACE Nearside Front Tyre has ply or cords exposed (4.1.D.1b) - I FIND THIS VERY CONCERNING SOMEONE WOULDN'T NOTICE THISON THEIR CAR Offside Front Tyre has ply or cords exposed (4.1.D.1b) - AS ABOVE Nearside Front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc (2.5.C.1a) - AGAIN SURELY HAVING COVERED ALMOST 10,000MLS ON AN 11 YEAR OLD CAR THERE MUST BE A REALISTAION OF WEAR AND TEAR ON PARTS Nearside Rear coil spring broken (2.4.C.1a) - DRIVING EXPERINCE WOULD BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED WITH KNOCKING NOISE FROM SUSPENSION THIS WAS NOT NOTICED PRIOR TO MOT. DRIVING HABITS AND ROAD CONDITIONS CAN AFFECT THIS FAILING Offside Rear coil spring broken (2.4.C.1a) - AS ABOVE Central Rear Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2) - SURELY A NOISE FROM EXHAUST SHOULD BE ATTENDED TO RESOLVE PRIOR TO MOT. ON A VEHCILE WITH ORIGINAL EXHAUST FROM NEW 46000mls 11 YEARS WOULD BE AN EXPECTED LIFESPAN Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (7.3.D.3) - THIS RELATES TO ABOVE Advisory notice item(s) Nearside Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)
