The Jaguar XE I bought from Lancaster Reading was inaccurately (misrepresented?) described on their website. When this was pointed out to them, at the time, we reached agreement that they would pay for adding the privacy glass, which was the absent option. On recently examining the purchase invoice, it transpires, I was, contrary to the agreement, charged for it. Surely a straightforward matter to rectify – just a quick phone call, right? Wrong! Over a period of 2 months, despite numerous phone calls and an auditable email trail, the last one suggesting I would resort to litigation, no response has escaped this communications black hole. Nothing! On speaking to varying receptionists (at least they do answer the phone) I’m repeatedly told they are “very busy.” As the March figures for Jaguar show their YTD sales are down 35% and Land Rover are down 48%, I would suggest differently. I would suggest this once proud name is being very poorly supported by its complacent franchisees who are clearly not committed to the brands they supposedly represent. If you are thinking of buying into any product from JLR and expect a premium level of service, or at the very least, a response to phone calls and emails; this review stands as evidence that you won’t achieve this at Lancaster Reading.

I went to buy a car from these people, paid my £500 deposite but then changed my mind. Over two weeks later I have not had my money back and my emails are being ignored by the salesman I was dealing with. This is totally unprofessional and appalling customer service. I will never buy a vehicle from these cowboys. Luckily for me I have found and bought my dream Jaguar F Type from Harwoods Jaguar in Crawley. Now they know how to look after their customers!

Staff do not care about the customer have no empathy and the wait to have your car looked at it long and to book it in is a 6 week wait! My second poor experience here and will not be going back. I contacted jaguar by chat and they called me back to say all the reviews on their site were good. Clearly I said you are only putting your good reviews on your site and not listening to the customers real concerns. This site proves that their service is awful 2.6 out of 5 is something to be ashamed off!

My car needed a new tyre fitted , I told them that I can get it myself for £120 for direct replacement , or £60 for a budget tyre , they said if we can supply st £120 per tyre , can we go ahead and fit them , I agreed , they then fitted budget tyres at £120 each and said that all calls Re recorded and that is what I agreed on . Second - I asked them for a price on a service for my car , I was quoted just under £600 , I phoned another jaguar service specialist and was quoted £270 less , I phoned Lancaster Jaguar Reading to cancel my service, they then questioned if the other service included original parts ( which it did) , to which they said that if I can get it confirmed in writing they will price match , to which I declined

Lancaster Jaguar Reading don't answer the phone, they delay per-arranged services, they make mistakes ( like putting in the wrong oil) and are thoroughly overloaded I think. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID although Jaguars are still very lovely cars !
I have been to Lancaster jaguar reading many times and with our fail it’s been a let down every time. The intention this time was to buy a car (Cash) not PCP and boy was I not welcome. The level of product knowledge was zero as the salesperson could not list the differences between a vouge and vouge se .. the idea of selling a second hand car to a genuine cash buyer could not of been more OFF!! I eventually bought elsewhere and would recommend most to do the same.. also the service department hasn’t returned calls so I have now used a reputable garage .. rob at rovertune reading .. way cheaper !! I also wrote my complaints in a mail to the manager of Lancaster and received a standard response and total waste of his effort. Good luck when PCP s fail to sell cars.

The showroom is good and people friendly, but a catalogue of minor errors and inconveniences has made me think I will try another Jaguar dealer in the future.
I appreciate that Land Rovers are pretty much selling themselves at the moment. However, due to the prestige status of this brand, I expect a prestige service/ experience. The only reason I have provided any stars is due to Paul Kidlington who was very helpful in discussing my options for trading in my current model and Andy who accompanied me on the test drives. After booking 3 cars to test drive the following week, I was only informed after the second test drive that one of the cars was not available. A call in the morning would have been useful to provide me the option to rebook. I'm still waiting for a call back on when I can drive the cars again to make a direct comparison that will assist me in deciding what model to buy. Do they want my business or not?? Its like history repeating itself as they didn't seem interested when I brought my current Range Rover so took my business elsewhere. As the dealership has since been re-built I thought the attitude may have changed, seems not. Please Note: This review is for Sales only as I've only had a good experience with the Service & Maintenance Dept.

Had a terrible experience buying an XE from Lancaster Jaguar in Reading. Initial salesperson was clueless and didn't listen to our requirements. They messed up quotes, never called/emailed back when they said they would and we repeatedly had to question and correct missing items and prices on the order. We were then transferred to a different salesperson who didn't bother sorting out the mess and still caused complete confusion right up to the hand over of the car. It turned out the Service Plan wasn't correctly ordered, despite us repeatedly asking. A month after picking up the car we were told we had to pay an additional £475 for the plan, despite the mistake being totally their fault. Avoid Lancaster Jaguar at all costs.
