Just bought a corsa for my son from Lane Autos . They were great to deal with, I can’t fault them. No fuss, friendly service. No pressure to buy and really helpful. The car seems to be a great price and comes with a six month warranty which is great. I would not hesitate to buy a car from them again or recommend them to others.

I was on the look out for a Seat Ibiza petrol TSI but eventually changed my mind & decided to look for its bigger brother the larger more powerful Seat Leon TSI 1.4. I was struggling to find the more powerful 1.4 engine (a lot of 1.2 about) and was lucky enough to find Auto Lane selling a 1.4 SE. The images showed the car was well presented, well described and they were happy to hold (deposit agreed) the car for a few days until I was able to travel down from Wolverhampton to complete the purchase. Upon collecting the car, it was immaculate, just been washed and valeted with all paperwork including spare key & service history. I cant fault the guys at all. The car was competitively priced with full service history. The drive back to Wolverhampton was perfect, no noise or rattles; solid. I'm well happy with the car but more importantly the service that was provided was 1st class. Good job guy - very happy customer.
Bought a Vauxhall Astra, on arrival to collect I phoned them to let them know id be there within the hour to only get there n full yard was locked up, had to wait a short while for them to come n open up. Once they opened up not one of the men looked round the car with me gave me no information on thecar just information on the ad basically left me to it whilst he was eating his dinner in the office! I thought I was happy with the car seemed a good little run about. Only until I drove away n realised the car jumps between gears, misfired on acceleration. I put this down to maybe the car needed a good running in. Only until 24 hours later the car was not getting any better if not worse! I phoned Scott and told him I wasn't happy with the car they sold me felt like I had my eyes ripped out, his response was that car was fine when he drove it basically insinuating I broke it within 24 hrs. He also turned round and said to me "I'm surprised your still conscious you've not took a breath" he was very partranising, end of the day I'm a paying customer who bought a car which was suppose to be fully running no issues. Scott told me to bring it back Monday n hell have a look at it, this was on Saturday day, by Saturday night the car did not run at all. Starts fine but has no revs or acceleration. Very bad customer service, very poor quality cars. Wouldn't take a car from here if they was giving them away for free!
Scott from Lane Autos in response to Stay away!
Thanks for the review .. you bout the Astra for a few hundred pounds advertised “taken in part exchange priced to clear” you test drove it and purchased it .. unfortunately on the way home an unforeseeable fault occurred .. which I tried to resolve immediately, but could not due to not being able to speak on the phone .. after twenty minutes of being spoke over and listening to statements such as “ cos what it is right ?” And yea but no but “ I was forced to ask for a pause of breath to enable a two way conversation.. at which point I offered to collect and give a full refund.. even your mother came outside and said “ much respect top man “ I would find it bizarre that your review leaves out these vital key points .. but having tried to have a simple conversation with you I am not surprised I’m the slightest.
Great service in the sale of this car and also very re assuring after sales call from Scott checking on how the car was driving. Very professional and would definitely recommend Scott to family and friends!
Phoned to arrange a viewing & drive of a toyota aygo. Man on the phone seemed nice, answered all my questions & was happy to arrange a viewing. He said we could look at the car with no pressure. When we arrived the car was parked up on the road. The outside of the car was dirty & more scratches than I could see on the photos but i can look past this as I'm looking at old used cars. The cars clutch was very high so I was unsure what this meant so I wanted to go away, have a think about buying it. I had gone with the intention to buy that day if I was happy & this was something I just needed to talk to someone independent about. The sale guy stayed in his office throughout&left me to it. I felt no pressure off him, if anything happy because of covid. However, the next morning I recieved a phone call off a man who was angry asking why I had left a negative review. I was left shaken by this call even after having to explain it wasn't me. The man did apologise but I'm now put off buying it

Drove 200 miles to buy Toyota Avensis in "excellent condition" with "everything in working order" and "excellent bodywork". The car had slipping clutch, two coil springs broken, empty AC, water in rear lights and scratches all over. Clutch replacement cost me £500. Dealer does not communicate, does not accept recorded post - refuses to accept mail. Not responding to text messages. Towing car back to the dealer would cost £300 for a refund of the purchase price which doesn't look like a good deal. Stay away not matter what price they offer. You will end up spending time and money on fixing the car and with no cooperation from Lane Autos. Their adverts are not to be trusted in.

We were made to feel very relaxed by Scott & Max. Buying a 1st car for my daughter Saffy who is 17years old is daunting. The car was everything it said in the advert & more. Had a test drive & very pleased we were able to get this car. Thank you & would definitely recommend Lane Auto’s Bolton & we will be be back again in the future. Bought and car needs a botched repair sorting at cost of £280 to myself. Avoid
Owner had to open up especially for us and asked me on the phone was I going to buy the car if he did cos he didnt want to "waste his time" otherwise! Car was filthy even though he had a days notice that I was going to view it. Sidelight not working. plip key damaged, cracked dashboard button. When I said I'd think about it he asked "think about what?" and said he'd close his gates whilst I thought! Then turned his back and started saying I was a timewaster. I felt rushed and like I was a nuisance. We travelled 20 miles to see the car and were very disappointed by the sellers attitude and the whole experience. We left quickly and would not go back. I would not recommend this garage.

Martin Harrison in response to Very poor viewing experience
Response to dealers response to my review!-- I'm not sure which bits you think I'm lying about here. When I contacted you the day before to ask to view the vehicle the next day you said it was fine and to ring you before I set off, which is exactly what I did just as you asked. You never mentioned your family's circumstances, and if hadn't been convenient for you I would have completely understood. Instead you choose to make me feel bad by taking the tone of 'I can open up but it's a lot of trouble so unless you're going to buy it don't waste my time.' This was a bad sign to start with, and I probably shouldn't have pursued it any further at all if I'm being honest. The car looked good though. Having seen other reviews this seems to be a common theme- asking people whether they'll definitely buy the car if they're allowed to test drive it! I work in sales and believe me, this is not a good sales technique. You would sell more cars if you make the customer feel that nothing is too much trouble! I don't see what you have to gain by asking that question? I'm sure most people would agree with me that it's not creating a good impression, just putting pressure on people. I didn't say I'd viewed a "great number already"! You have entirely made this up! I said I had seen a few, which I had. I also did not say to you that I didn't like some "salesmens attitude"! Again you have just made this up, and try to turn this on me accusing me of a bad attitude! I think people will make their own mind up about you if you accuse people of having an attitude just because they give honest facts about their experience. Not very professional! You were about 10 minutes late, not two. I chatted for several minutes with my son about how long to allow after you became late! This would really not have been a big deal to be honest because I understand that anyone can be delayed. It's just another little red flag. To be honest I daren't ask for a test drive because I felt you were just waiting to get rid of me . If you were muttering within earshot about me being a timewaster even without me test driving it just because I wanted to think about it, what would you have said if I had test driven it and then said I wanted to think about it?! Feeling pressured like this isn't how a buyer wants to feel. I'd already told you I'd driven 20 miles to see the car, which I had. I've now bought a car from elsewhere, so am not a timewaster! As a professional salesman, would it not be courteous and good customer service to offer a test drive and to see paperwork etc? --- this is what I get from other dealers.. The car may have been good for its age and well priced (I gave you 4 stars for value for money), but a potential buyer doesn't just make a judgement based on the car, they need to feel they can trust the dealer and that the signs are he is helpful, and that he is professional. Whatever people believe about my initial review is a bit irrelevant,- the unprofessional way you have responded to it will help tell people what they need to know about you and your professionalism. It doesn't in itself mean you would handle any aftersales matters badly, but to many people, me included, it would be a good indicator.
