Dealt with two individuals, Masoud, the business owner, and Zubair, an associate and owner of the car I was interesting in buying. Confirmed with Masoud on the day the car is available and the listed price is correct. Check the car over, am happy and want to discuss how to pay. Am shown by Zubair a text message sent from a mystery customer 15 minutes ago offering £700 more than the listed price. Am told if I want to buy the car, I need to improve upon that offer. Get up and leave. I took a day off work, spent five hours on the roads and took out temporary car insurance only to realise I am dealing with a pair of muppets. If they cannot even be honest about what price they are willing to sell a car, God only knows what else they have lied about either intentionally or by omission. My experience says that these are cowboys, not professionals. Give them a wide berth if you value your time and prefer to deal with honest individuals.

Apologies for the capital letters, it probably makes this appear like it is going to be some unjustified rant but I have genuinely never experienced such horrible service and what I am almost convinced has been largely orchestrated by them and the fact they are covering for a fault they were aware of. 12th September I bought a Ford Mondeo, to be fair to them and the previous owner it drove perfectly on the day and looked spotless inside and out it was hard not to say yes. Three weeks later the cars gearbox malfunctions with my 2 and 4 year old in the car on an A road causing me to pull over, I just about made it off the road for the car to get stuck in random gears or neutral. After AA, RAC and a Ford garage inspection they told me a new gearbox is required. On their invoice they reference the Consumer Rights Act 2015 twice, however they do not adhere to this and would not accept my request to return the vehicle. Bought for £5700 and with a £5000 quote from Ford for a NEW, not refurbished gearbox it was not something anyone could be expected to keep. I live 2 hours from the garage, it was slow to start shortly after buying it so I put a new battery in it and did not consult the garage, something they maintain voided their warranty and is the sole cause of the gearbox breaking......I accept it says on the warranty they should do all the work but is it unfair of me to pay and not request a reimbursement for a new battery? Seems normal wear and tear and safeguarding for the cold weather. The argument for them not adhering to the Consumer rights Act 2015 is that the warranty was voided, but the warranty is not what is in question here is is the sale of goods not fit for purpose within the 30 days. Sadly after much expense on my part, I sent the car back on a flatbed truck to them to attempt to fix it (even though I do not trust for one moment any work they would do) and they ignored my emails all of a sudden, I sent the car Friday 3rd November 2023 and it was placed in a parking bay next to the garage and have evidence attached. Saturday morning comes and I call for the first of 4 phone calls to request they move the car to a place they would prefer it rather than leave in the car park, each time I was fobbed off as they were busy. Monday morning comes, I call up to check they have moved it and the response I get is the car isn't there. It appears of have been stolen, now I obviously have no choice but to accept some responsibility for that I guess had they just helped a customer they have basically screwed over and offered no real support other than to blame my batter change on an automatic gearbox completely failing. They couldn't even be bothered to show any emotion, just we will call you back later. I just cannot believe this is their service level and it leaves you no alternative other than to be suspicious they didn't want this car back they knew it was a bad car, for all I know they had someone remove the car because they know I am not local and now I am left out of pocket, no car and very little recourse other than to take them to court. IF you do not believe this please search reviews online, I since found plenty of bad reviews, taking them to court and them just not giving a damn. Do yourself a favour, there are so many cars out there, please please do not buy anything from them. I will do all I can to help raise awareness as I know I don't deserve this and neither does anyone else especially in a time where life is already so hard and expensive. If you want to contact me I will happily speak to anyone, I have no doubt there are more like me out there.

I wanted to give Langley Motors and honest review , I have just brought a beautiful car from Dave @langley motors I’m literally over the moon with this car , I’m a local girl and truly believe in helping local businesses. Dave was helpful and made everything so easy , so far I have had no problems at all …. I would like to think that if I did have any problems then I could go back and I’m sure they would help out , This is the 2nd car I have purchased , I had a major problem with the first car but Dave took the car back and sorted it and even leant me a car whilst mine was being fixed . Happy
I have recently purchased a VW convertible from Dave at Langley Motors I did this sight unseen and it was delivered to me in Devon by a nice guy called Sam. The whole was arranged in a gentlemanly and trustworthy manner. Thanks Colin E.

WE TOOK LANGLEY MOTORS TO COURT: Don't buy from them and have to go through what I did. The company is owned and run by David Childs and his two sons Benjamin and Jamie Childs. The limited company was transferred to Jamie Childs who declared himself bankrupt in 2005 with debts of over 16k. However they have since been running fraudulently Langley Motors under the name of ‘managing director’ Steve Jones who they use as an alias on paperwork to avoid legal obligations. (In 3 years of court proceedings he never made an appearance and was always ‘away’ you’d think as ‘managing director’ he’d want to defend his company in court! His handwriting is also coincidentally exactly the same as Ben Childs.) In our 3 years of court proceedings we also discovered that they already had 2 outstanding county court judgements against them from 2010 of over 6k. They have used different company names over the years. One of my receipts says Langley Ford Centre. After our dealings with Langley Motors we were amazed to find good reviews of their company online, looking further into these reviews we found them all to be written in the names of the Child’s family and their friends who we were able to trace through the social media pages of both Ben and Jamie. (Also notable there were no connections to Steve Jones through their social media sites- again confirming to us that he does not exist!) Once we had dismissed the positive reviews the only ones left were those with a similar story to ours. The landlord was able to confirm that David Childs had always been the owner of the business and he had never heard of Steve Jones. I bought a BMW from them in May 2012 where Ben Childs told me it was in full working order. After a few weeks I discovered an oil leak and took it to a local garage that also discovered the exhaust sensors were not working, the wires from them had been cut and the engine management light had been disabled. I took the car back and Ben Childs said they would sort it; they cleaned off the oil residue, hid the cut wires and told me it had been sorted. When I took it back a second time, they laughed at me and said it was not covered by their 3 month guarantee. David Childs told me to take them to court. I will leave out his expletives. So I did. They were ordered to either give me a full refund or repair the car. They chose to repair the car. They use PW Autos at Langley. The owner told me Langley Motors supply all the parts and he only does what Langley Motors tell him to do. Langley Motors tried to get all the parts from breakers yards. They had the car for 6 months even though the PW Autos owner told me it would only take 2 days if they had the parts. Langley Motors made up every lie and excuse they could as to why the car was taking so long to repair. After 6 months they said they had fully repaired the initial faults and had MOT'd the car. However the car had been dented while in their possession and after all the lies we’d received we thought we’d look into this further. On inspecting the paperwork we found that the emissions test had been done after the MOT certificate had been produced. (Alarm bells started ringing again.) We had the car independently inspected and as suspected they had not repaired the faults and there was a great list of additional faults, including structural parts missing, buckled wheel, 60,000 missing off the clock! Needless to say we took them back to court. It took 6 court hearings and over 3 years. Even after the court had awarded us the cost of repairs they refused to pay up! We had to send in Court Enforcement Officers with a High Court Writ and to get the money out of them, it took them several hours of lies and deceit from David Childs before he finally paid up costing him several thousand pounds more than if he had settled in the first place.
