COULDN'T BE MORE IMPRESSED WITH THIS GARAGE!! I left a £200 "non refundable" deposit (which I can see the review before mine wasn't happy about losing! Get a life mate, if you leave a deposit to buy something then change your mind, that's your problem! What is wrong with people these days?!) Anyway, when I was due to collect my volvo at the end of July, my boiler gave in and needed replacing, £2500!! I rang the garage and told them of my circumstances and how gutted I was cause I'd been after a 1.6 diesel for ages and this v50 was in great condition and excellent value for money compared to all the others online.. understanding I would lose my deposit, Mr Yekta got in touch with me later that day after his salesman told him my problems and said he would hold on to the car for a couple more weeks to give me a chance to source more funds, avoiding me losing my deposit, I was over the moon to hear this! now to me, that is first class customer service! I did manage to get the money together thankfully and purchased the car 11 days later, after about 4 days I took it for its first motorway run and noticed it pulled to the left at about 70mph, informed Gary at the garage and told him that it was the first time on the m - way, he kindly booked the car in to get the tracking done, on inspection it turned out the track rod was bent slightly, they took the car off me to be repaired and gave me a loan car too so I wasn't left without any wheels.. Car now drives superb at speed and couldn't be more happier with my purchase, how understanding the staff were and I would definitely recommend LDY cars to all my friends and family.. Nearly bought a car here and glad we didn't. We left a £200 holding fee and decided against buying and the owner refused to return the money which we paid on credit card. Eventually, after trying to get hold of Liam the owner for a couple of weeks, he said if we went back to the garage he would return the money...knowing we lived over 100 miles away! His whole demeanour was threatening and unprofessional, even warning us never to contact him or his staff again! We were polite at all times and yet he stated we had threatened his staff! AVOID!

Mr Jason Abbott paid a deposit for a Nissan Juke (RF13XGC) on the 18/06/2016, 5 days later (the day before collection due date) Mr Abbott informed us he had found a cheaper vehicle and that he would require his deposit back, whilst informing us his occupation was "police officer." This was not a legitimate reason to cancel the contracted sale and the services ordered. It clearly states within our terms and conditions the deposit is not refundable. Despite legislation I agreed to return the deposit and Mr Abbott has since been refunded. I had a further telephone conversation with Mr Abbot and the agreement we personally discussed was broken by him. Mr Abbott was informed any refund must be (on the advice of our card terminal supplier) physically at the terminal and he did not inform me he was unable or unwilling to make the journey before leaving several negative reviews. During our telephone conversation I assertively informed Mr Abbott that in not carrying out the agreed transaction this had caused great inconvenience to my company, there were no "threats" made or accused and no quotes matching his description of our conversation. Mr Abbott caused great inconvenience to my company and I am saddened and extremely confused as to why Mr Abbott has attempted to cause further damage to my business by leaving multiple negative reviews. Anyone reading the review and this response I would encourage them to consider why Mr Abbot hasn't offered an explanation as to why he wanted to cancel the transaction to begin with. I bought a x5 from this garage and within a week it had faults seller took it to get fixed and have of what was supposed to be a courtesy car which had the engine management light on and absolutely disgusting inside and refused me anything else. The car was in the garage for two weeks and drove from Cornwall to collect and it had another noise which it never even went in with, so had to leave it to be fixed again and the seller was not helpful and very rude to me on the phone there was no updates I had to keep calling and they was in no rush to fix my car that I paid 4650 for. The car then took another week and a half and I asked for a refund but they refused. I have had the car back two weeks and the noise on the back and crunching is still there so I now have to get it fixed and I will be contacting trading standards!

This statement about not hearing from me is not true at all I phoned you before this review and said the noise from the suspension was still there and the problem had not been sorted and asked for a refund and completely understood that it may be slightly less due to me having the car a few weeks for wear and tear, but for you to say you would need to speak to the owner Liam and say he will probably only offer me trade price is disgusting! And then you never even called me back to let me know the outcome so now as the rear suspension noise is still there its been booked into my garage where I will then contact trading standards with the fault that net say you could not find. As for threats made by me I never made threats I said I would contact trading standards as you just ignored my messages and calls and became very rude to myself. The car you gave my partner was full of mud from top to bottom and my partner did complain to you at the time stating he was unhappy to take our small children in this. I have tried to resolve the problem with you but your offering me trade price on a car I had two weeks before faults which you clearly agree was there. You also offered me a different car which was much cheaper than the one I purchased and you was not willing to refund the difference! I have all calls logged and messages emails to you, I am happy te try and resolve this if you want to call me?

Liam Yekta from lyd cars has now worked with me and offered to repair and inspect the vehicle. He has replaced all the suspension struts bushes on my vehicle and I am happy that we was able to work together to resolve the issues .

Since all the problems with the X5 and taking it back a 3rd time fir repair I have now received a parking fine for when my vehicle was supposed to be in safe hands being repaired. I have emailed ldy cars and had no response and also phoned liam who pretended he knew nothing of the X5 I bought and never got back to me so I have now had to send proof from emails to Torquay council to prove the car was not in my care at this time. Disgusting garage would never approve this garage .

Mrs Barnecutt purchased a BMW X5 from LDY Cars Torquay in May 2016, the day after the purchase she contacted us to inform us she didn't like the car and could she return and be given a full refund, to which we said we can repurchase the car for a slightly lower price. She didn't seem very happy with this offer and two weeks later phoned to make a complaint reporting a minor mechanical issue. She was told to return the vehicle for us to investigate, to which she demanded her money back however we refused. We offered her a Suzuki Vitara as a loan car (the loan car is not a legal requisite for us to provide) the next day she told us the loan car wasn't good enough for her. After the issue was resolved a further complaint was made and a minor mechanical issue was remedied. The final complaint Mrs Barnecutt made detailed of a noise from the rear suspension. The suspected faulty rear bushes were found not to be faulty and were within their tolerance. However despite this we replaced them anyway in a seemingly impossible task to keep Mrs Barnecutt happy. Further social media and telephone abuse ensued after these repairs from Mrs Barnecutt and her partner against myself personally, my solicitor and authorities were informed and I decided not to take legal action.

Even after buying the car, they continued to assist me with anythinf I required. Even sending information to insurance companies about the car. Had my car now for 3 weeks, no issues or problems. 1st Class service at the dealership. Undercover showroom really helps.
This is the second car I have purchased from LDY and have founf them to be honest and helpful on both occasions. When a problem occured, it was sorted immediately and efficiently Top marks for service and reliability!
I bought a nissan 350zx from him in dawlish, cost £6,500, the car broke down after 3 days. Core plugs gone, asked for money back told me no take it to his garage he used, got car back problems with the car for 3 weeks and 2 brakedowns later, asked for money back nope, days later blown engine, wish i had taken him to court as advised.
