So i went agaisnt all the negative reviews surrounding maclan marsh and still went and purchased a car from them, HOW STUPID OF ME. The car didnt even get me home and found myself getting my new 3k car recovered. darren does everything to avoid paying out on the 3 month warranty he claims to offer, he will leave you with a bodge repair and claim that it's acceptable. What makes it worse is the fact I find out the fault that occurs was an advisory on the last MOT yet the selling ad claimed the car passed with no advisories. All I can say is if your considering buying a car from Darren really do your research on them as a business and the name changes, location changes etc and wonder why they have had to do this. It's really scary people like this can still be trading and getting away with it.

Avoid this dealer at all costs. I bought a Vauxhall Insignia from him as they are represented as a family business that sells "good honest cars" that are only sourced from dealerships. Before signing the vehicle over I noticed on the vehicle MOT and service receipts that the vehicle was flagged as having an EML warning to which the salesman assured me it had been fixed. I was assured this vehicle was checked before the sale. Being a dealership I was under the impression this car would have been checked so all should have been in order. However, within 15 minutes on my journey home from the dealership the EML and a second warning message came up indicating a fault with the headlight. The car was also advertised as having sat nav which although the car would have the functionality, lacked the correct software DVD. I contacted the business via eBay and I was asked to not contact the gentleman that sold me the car as he had nothing to do with the business and he would deal with the issue on his return. In good faith I honoured his request and only communicated with the "owner" of the business. I explained to the "owner" that I wished to reach an amicable solution; this was far from the outcome I am still fighting for. I contacted the "owner" as soon as the faults occurred and told him I would like to enviro my right to return the vehicle for a refund; he refused this claiming he had spoken to a legal representative advising he has no legal responsibility to comply with my request. The owner denied any faults with the vehicle and insisted I were to get the vehicle diagnosed at a garage to prove the fault; this of course was done at my own expense The inspection was carried out at a vauxhall main dealer and they confirmed numerous faults the main one being the eml light which was on because of a fault with the emissions mainly egr valve. The vehicle was also sold with a 3 month warranty and at no point has he mentioned the work would be completed at no cost under said warranty. The lesson I have learned from this whole ordeal is to avoid Maclan Marsh at all costs, they are unethical and have no understanding of customer service.

Bought a 10 year old Fiat Panda from them back in June. "Full service history" as well as a full check sheet filled by Darren / the garage. Fair enough shouldn't foresee any expense. Except that once I reached home, with all the documentation now in hand, I started wondering if the timing belt had been done earlier this year as recommended by the manufacturer / called by the service book. Phoned the garage that did the last service, not been done. Phoned Darren / Marclan Marsh, the tone had now changed, not helpful, "it doesn't need to be done". I got it done locally and the garage pulled a completely cracked timing belt, could have been a disaster. Darren did lie about the "full service history" and his check sheet stating the timing belt was fine. He was also very unhelpful trying to fix things. Raised a complaint through the credit card company and documented all the exchange I had with Darren and got a full refund of the timing belt cost. Demonstrating I was right and Darren's dealings were unlawful. One cannot lie selling you something. Between the answer I got on the timing belt and other things such as not giving the right amount of previous owner of the car over the phone (said 5, when I unstapled the document about it: it said 9, why would one stapled that document if it's not to hide something, only realise this after the sale), tire pressure checked fine, was at 15psi on 3 corners of the car, after market sunroof not mentioned and not working... I had to come to the conclusion that this is not an honest business. Dodgy car dealer at their best, avoid, avoid, avoid... Check out the google reviews it's full of similar stories.
Bought a vehicle from Darren. Was all nicey nicey at the start. Until the car developed some problems after 3 or 4 days after purchase. . Then he wasn't pleased that we took it back. Had no car for 4 days and didn't answer our calls. Customer service skills are none existent. . And reacts angrily to any questions. Thinks he knows everything but was caught out. Very un pleasant man. Would definitely NOT recommend this garage. . In fact we had that much trouble with the car we traded it in for a car from a very good garage in Congleton..
r bowyer in response to Yep your arrogant
ive just had the same problems today turned up all nice nice soon as you dare to ring him with a problem though its you dont not nothing and im right your wrong complete split personality refused to refund my deposit after is caught him out lieing numerous times.. BUYERS beware cars are seriously suspect and if you do have any issues or queries expect problems.
Very poor. Warranty isnt worth a thing. Rattle from clutch unresolved. Brake issue. Investigation led to brake pads being metal on metal for which I was blamed and had to pay for. I'd only had the car for four weeks! Reported to trading standards.
Absolutely THE worst car buying experience of my life, I would NOT recommend Maclan Marsh to anyone wanting to buy a car, Darren Tarry didn't resolve the existing issues with the car! DON'T buy from this garage if you don't want headaches and STRESS!!!!!
My son bought his first car fron here. A great family run business. Few weeks later the car had a water leak. Contacted Darren who arranged a repair the very next day. Excellent service and I would definitely recommend this garage.
