My daughter Jo bought a 2007 Astra from Mark Andrews financed through The Car Finance Company when she was 19 and the idea was to get a reliable car while she was at Uni and to help her build her credit history for when she finished her degree. The way this company treated her was nothing short of disgraceful as that car is a wreck thats been anything but reliable and from my own experience of dealing with them in my opinion Mark Andrews Car Centre are nothing but devious underhanded money grabbing con artists. The brake pads on the Astra they sold her were badly worn and all the discs were heavily pitted and starting to rust. To knowingly sell a car with dodgy brakes to an inexperienced 19 year old driver is scandalous. The central locking key fob didn’t work properly and needed to be replaced by Vauxhall and the alternator also had to be changed as well as an issue with one of the rear electric windows and we had to pay for the lot within the first month as Mark Andrews refused to change the car or cover any repair costs and were rude to both Jo and myself on the phone about it shouting the phone and refusing to listen to anything we had to say. The head gasket went earlier this month and I’ve cleared off the outstanding finance for her so she can just move on and get another one without damaging her credit rating because that cars given her nothing but stress since she had it. It honestly doesn’t surprise me to see that everything that’s written about Mark Andrews is negative they are a vile company to deal with but as long as they offer finance to people who think that they won’t be approved anywhere else they will only continue to treat people in this way. I wish we had seen all these reviews before the ordeal they put my daughter through, my advice to offer any car buyers thinking of getting a car from Mark Andrews is is just avoid these contemptable people altogether especially if its your first car you will only regret letting them get their grubby hands on your hard earned cash, I would give them 0 stars if the option were available.

Had an appointment with these and didn’t even get shown a single car! Its pretty clear that they’re just hard selling the finance options and train these kids up to give every customer that comes through the door the same spiel but it wasn’t ever going to work on me I’m 45 years old with my own business and a mortgage if I wanted financial advice I’d make an appointment with Barclays not some 2 bit garage flogging hire purchase! I could see the young lad was just trying his best to do his job so I tried not to give him too much of a hard time and I told him nice and polite I’m just here to look at your Mercs pal and I want to be out of here and clear of that stretch of the M6 before the traffic starts to build up so lets crack on but no he still wants to talk about my past credit history etc which is of no concern to Mark Andrews at all I’m approved for finance now just show me something German within my limit or I'm gone but he wouldn’t budge bless him well I don’t like to make a habit of repeating myself so I finished my coffee and I was on my way I’m guessing they must get it in the neck if they don’t finish their BS economics lesson first because if he would of just shown me what I asked him to the kid was onto a sale but looking at some of these reviews off people that did go the distance they don’t seem to be best pleased! I’d probably say I’d say its best for all parties involved that I did walk away.

I had the same problem when I applied for credit I just wanted a new car but it didn’t happen cause they were chatting bare about my credit score.. yawn.. strange way to sell cars bore ya customers away?? I knew my credit wasnt the best like but that was already out there I wouldnt have been there otherwise? There was a older couple who got there before us moaning they were there 4 hrs ago and no idea what was going on or why it was taking so long!?! It was jokes that people were getting so mad when they just wanted to buy their cars and leave dont get why they make everyone wait? My sister who drove us there had somewhere to go and when we heard them saying how long they were kept waiting for she wouldn’t wait any more and wanted to go so I had to go before I got a car!!! But I’m glad I didn’t get 1 now I’ve seen all these reviews!!!! Wont be going back that’s for certain!! You can keep your car finance thanks lol!!!!!

"Financial Ombudsman Will Help You Cancel"

I had to make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service just to cancel my finance on a faulty car that Mark Andrews sold to me, I could tell something not right as soon as I picked it up it just didn’t feel right I called them back up but they said it’s a new car you just have to get used to it but I wasn’t buying that I knew it didn’t feel right so I booked it into the Renault Service centre in Leicester for a full inspection, Renault quoted me just under £2000 for repairs which Mark Andrews refused to pay and said I had to bring the car back to them, Renault would not release the car to me full stop unless I arranged for it to be towed out because they said its not safe to drive, went back to Mark Andrews and they wouldn’t pay for that either so getting fed up of the situation now and having lost all faith in the car. I told them straight that I didn’t want the car anymore, they then tried to tell me that I had to pay the full cost of the car up front if I wanted to cancel the finance but that’s just nonsense and the Financial Ombudsman ruled in my favour and got the finance cancelled without me having to pay a penny, I won in the end but it sickens me that they sold me a car that wasn’t fit to be on the road then refused to do anything about it and tried to lie to me about my right to cancel the finance, The Car Finance Company were great afterwards and went out of their way to help me get another car but as for Mark Andrews anyone else having trouble with this company I would seriously recommend going to straight to the Financial Ombudsman without even wasting your time complaining to Mark Andrews, they only care about taking your money from you and if you don’t get what you’ve paid for well that’s just bad luck for you it’s a disgusting way to treat customers I would never ever recommend them to anyone ever.

I bought my vauxhall astra from them when they were in a smaller garage near Bilston, I didn’t have a good experience with them to be honest, the cars not too bad now its been looked after and they were ok with me when I first bought it but they made fun of me when I had to bring it back in they were not taking me seriously in the office when I was telling them what was wrong with it and laughing and mocking me it felt intimidating and I didn’t want to go back there any more with the warranty and just had it fixed at the garage by me in Bilston instead

absolute joke this place wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy had nothing but hassle with the car you phone them up and they couldn’t care less weve had the phone put down on us and had them putting on silly voices when we call back and this is supposed to be a professional business never ever known anything like it well they wont get another penny out of us the finance people can tow the useless car away for all i care we would have been better off burning a big pile of cash on the front drive least we would have got some heat off that UNLIKE ANY OF THE HEATERS IN THE USELESS CAR and that’s just one of the minor issues its cut out while being driven and wont start again and had to been towed home that many times that my bf had to pay more money to upgrade his AA cover in case he needs them again before the breakdown cover is due for renewal I wont allow my kids to be in a dangerous car with that many faults so its useless to us and its true what people say o here the internet is full of people who all say the same thing you get no help from mark andrews at all once they get your money they sold us a car with that much interest on the finance your paying for it twice over and for a car that not even worth its weight in scrap then when it fails on you they tell you to go through the warranty who tell you they are a separate company that refuse to work with mark andrews anymore!!!

You're deliberately missing the point this lady was making, nobody has a problem with repayments until the penny drops and who then in their right mind would be happy about paying for a faulty car? Decent hardworking honest people put their trust in your company when they choose to buy a car from you and you repay that with false promises, poor service and disappointment.

I didn’t purchase a car from Mark Andrews Car Centre. My review for them is based only on the service I got from them while I was at their “head office branch” in Walsall, as a potential Mark Andrews customer. I called in on my eldest daughter first who lives fairly close to their branch in Walsall town on the way for a cuppa and a chat and to see my youngest Grandson before going to see Mark Andrews. I’m glad I did this before and not after, because that cuppa with my daughter turned out to be the only hot drink I was offered all morning. I made my way over to an industrial estate just off Junction 10 of the M6 where Mark Andrews is based and this is where I completely wasted the next 3 hours. While I was there, instead of looking at cars with low access like I had told them I wanted, or going through what finance options were available, the majority of my time there was actually spent sitting on my own in their showroom, feeling cold, thirsty, and bored. A sales boy in his 20s with a thick accent spoke to me briefly then told me to sit tight as he would be back in 5 minutes. So I sat tight. And waited. And waited. Waited some more. Played a couple of games of Bingo on my phone. Didn’t win anything. Never do. Waited a bit more.“This certainly has been a long 5 minutes”, I remember thinking to myself, almost 2 hours later. Perhaps even the longest 5 minutes I’d ever known. My gut feeling was telling me something was not quite right about this place. I couldn’t put my finger on it but there was definitely something. Who leaves a potential customer completely unattended for so long? Literally hours I was sat there. I typed “Mark Andrews Car Centre Reviews”into the Google. And this was how I discovered Car Dealer Reviews. I wasn’t timing it any more but I'd say I was a good 25-30 minutes into reading what other customers had got to say about them on here (STILL no sign of salesman at this point) butIt turns out that they weren’t just being deliberately ignorant to me, no, Mark Andrews Car Centre have earned themselves somewhat of a reputation for upsetting EVERYONE. At least I didn’t feel so confused about the situation any more. I made an excuse and left hastily. Yes, I will say that I was feeling a tad disappointed to be coming away from there without a new car, because I really did need one urgently and they had promised me I would be driving away in one the same day so I’ll also admit that I was a little tempted to go back, but I'm glad I didn't because I knew I’d made the right choice in leaving and also knew I needed some reassurance that the next place I tried would be of better repute. So I had another look at Car Dealer Reviews this time with my daughter who showed me how to find the places with the good reviews and I was most pleased when we quickly found a helpful, friendly and much more professional car dealer close by. If I hadn’t been left sat around waiting for Christmas at Mark Andrews I wouldn’t have seen any of the reviews and being an old timer theres a chance I might have been talked into buying a racing car instead of my Jazz, or perhaps even some magic beans, as we’re that gullible us old folks that we believe anything we’re told, but sarcasm aside, I do want to say that I’m grateful that I found the Car Dealer Reviews community just in the nick of time to be pointed in the right direction. I still wonder to this day about that boy with his weird accent from Mark Andrews, and what exactly it was that was so important to him on that day that it cost him a guaranteed sale. But I don't lose any sleep over it, because some mysteries as they say are better left unsolved… Alice Walsall

Alice, we would like to thank you for taking your time to submit this review. There are however some points we would like to address with yourself. Firstly, you state that you were left unattended for three hours ? we find this somewhat bewildering as when entering our business there is a waiting area and reception desk (you would know this considering you say you have been here) upon arrival our receptionist will take your name, offer you a drink and call the sales office for a member of staff to come and assist the customer. This is procedure and is adhered to day in day out. Secondly you claim you were left "sitting on your own in their cold showroom thirsty and bored" we also find this odd as our "heated showroom, with open access kitchen with refreshments and all facilities available i.e.Kettle, Tea, Coffee, Milk and sugar" is all available once a member of our sales team has welcomed you sat you down and discussed our process, before this our customers are asked to sit in reception where we pride ourselves in a warm and friendly service. Finally, our customers never spend more than 10 minutes in reception waiting for a member of the sales team and even on our busiest days we pride ourselves on our fast and friendly service even if our managers have to step in and assist the sales team. We don't believe that your review is genuine nor based on your review have you visited our Showroom in Walsall. We had the same problem with them Alice! I went with my partner but we actually waited until we got the car off them.. We did a joint application with them and turned up for our appointment at 12.15 all documents required were present and in order as requested in a neat little folder but for some reason we still hadn't got the car when some of the the staff started going home 6.00 only to be told we can take the car but theres no log book!!! Had to buy a new one before the car could be taxed! I was fuming! My hubby has a theory that they keep you hanging about on purpose cause they already know you need a car so when they do finally stick a contract in front of you'll just sign it and don't bother to read it properly cause you just want to get off home! not going to lie thats exactly what we did but you could be signing literally anything but once youve done 6 hours there you cant wait to get out! Just a thought but they do seem to have a lot of unhappy customers so who knows?

First of all I am very sorry if you found any part of my review for your business “bewildering” or “odd.” I didn’t mean to confuse you and I am more than happy to address these points that you seem to be having trouble with. If you had read my review correctly, you would have noticed that I said that I had a brief conversation with one of your staff before he disappeared upstairs. He accompanied me into the showroom through the reception / waiting area that you mentioned. I decided to accompany myself back out the same way after I discovered the awful reviews you get from your customers. This to the best of my recollection was roughly 3 hours after I arrived. I also mentioned that I had already purchased a suitable car elsewhere so I don’t think there is anything else you could help me with if I did contact you, but thank you for the kind offer. I would also add in closing, that when someone takes the time to offer you genuine, honest feedback for your business, it may be advisable not to be so dismissive of it in future. In my opinion the tone in which you replied to me comes across as though you were trying to make me look foolish, which I can assure you that you are nowhere near capable of achieving. If anything, you have done that to yourself, because all you have actually done is state what you believe should happen, as though the very thought of any deviation from your processes are totally inconceivable. Anyone looking for reviews of your company on here that reads your reply may now take the opinion that by trying to belittle me and call me a liar, all you have actually accomplished is to live up to the reputation that your company and the staff you employ have earned for yourselves as nasty pieces of work. If there is anything that I missed or that you still find “odd” or “bewildering” please let me know, however if you do, please do make sure to adjust your tone next time to avoid causing any offence.
