LAURA FROM SERVICE DEPARTMENT RETURNED MY CALL VERY ABRASIVELY WITH NO PLEASANTRIES ADVISED HER THAT IM A SERVERLY DISABLED & NEED MY CAR SERVICING & WOULD LIKE TO BOOK A PICK UP & DROP OFF SHE WOULDNT EVEN LET ME FINISH BEFORE REFUSING TO ACCOMMODATE MY NEEDS VERY DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE & UNNACCEPTABLE!!!!

We recently bought a used Seat Ibiza for my wife from Marshall SEAT in Leicester. Positives: The young salesman Sam was fine. Helpful and attentive. The test drive was given after we reassured him that we were serious about a purchase. We like the car, it is low mileage for four years old, and in good condition above the floor level. Negatives: The site is rammed and chaotic, and there is nowhere to park. Be careful if you park across the road as that is limited to 2 hours, with NPR to make sure you are fined if you overstay. It was not possible to identify which cars are for sale as most do not have any indication of a price or if they are even for sale. None had any information in their windows as do most other garages. The only way our salesman could tell us what cars they had for sale was to look on Autotrader. After four trips to ask his manager, each taking ages, the price had no room for any reduction. The salesman had no authority to haggle, and his manager did not come over to speak to us even after four trips from our salesman. They wanted to sell us 4 or 5 different “add ons” for insuring the tyres (??), paintwork, extended warranty, finance etc. The sales manager did not speak to us even when we were outside picking up the car the next day, even when we were standing next to him. The car had a new MOT and a service but on the way home my wife noticed a pronounced brake judder which occurs with any braking beyond the very gentle type she had used on the test drive around town in slow traffic. The next day, in daylight, I looked at the brake discs and they were in very poor condition with deep pits of rust all over them. Also the rear exhaust box was literally falling apart with pieces coming off it and with long split sections due to rust, and the exhaust pipe was severely corroded along its length. I rang them and they said to take the car in the next day to be looked at. They eventually agreed to replace the front discs and pads, but as the exhaust was not actually blowing they would not replace it. I was dealt with by a pleasant young lady in the service department, through whom the service manager conveyed his decisions regarding the two issues – leaving her to take the flak.. It took an afternoon to sort out the brakes, with me waiting there for over 3 hours in total. The young lady apologised for my length of wait BUT nobody apologised or expressed any regret whatsoever or discussed with me the state of the car. I find it hard to believe that the issue of the brakes in particular was not evident on the new MOT or the new service they claimed to have done, and the car could not have been taken for a test drive above 30mph at any time or the judder would have been obvious. Overall, I would not recommend buying a used car from this establishment, mostly because of the poor and unchecked condition of the car and because of the lack of involvement of the managers. Perhaps the management of the sales and the service departments would give better service if we were buying a new car, and they would then be prepared to talk to customers who had questions only they were authorised to answer. It felt as if the company considered that they were doing us a favour by selling us a car, we could take it or leave it, and the words “customer service” are not ones they seem to embrace at any depth. NO OPTION FOR NO STARS !!! What a truly unpleasant experience I had at Marshall SEAT Leicester ... The service department is geared to try & up sell at every opportunity !!!! Book you in for a "Health Check" knowing that by the time they get round to it your warranty has expired !! Even when you let the Service Manager know this?? SEAT must be mad to let them have the franchise or whatever it is .... AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was sold a great little seat ibiza connect. Eversince buying the car it's had little problems up until the while media and navigation system turns off and on on its own. After booking an appointment with the garage and driving an hour before work to get there being told I was guaranteed a hire car u was then told this was not possible. There was no apology and no other help. This was over a year ago and the issues still persist and I'm finding it hard with other seat garages to resolve the issue s that they were already aware of with these cars.
