We are very pleased with the car but perhaps just as importantly we wanted to pass on our compliments to James Horner for his customer care. In fact, all the staff were excellent, checking we were being looked after and making us a drink. From our initial meeting to driving off the forecourt with our new car James was just lovely! He was professional and courteous, nothing was too much trouble and he took time to make sure all the information was understood. Everything he promised he’d do was done (this is not the norm from our experience) and was approachable and friendly. First class service.

The exhaust on my 21 year old Golf had developed a minor problem while I was on holiday in the area. As a precaution, they took the car in at very little notice that afternoon and welded a bracket back on to ensure the exhaust did not drop and start making lots of noise. They were very helpful in the circumstances.
Customer service superb, telephone and text communication clear, informative and helpful, video showing car 'health check' both useful and interesting, demonstrates a company completely on the ball. My car was serviced ahead of the time indicated, which was immensely helpful - what is more it was washed, cleaned and polished to perfection, which came as a lovely surprise to me. A few months back I bought my daughter a 2013 Tiguan with 58,000 miles and a full service history from Marshall VW in Taunton. The car had been well looked after and had *Pirelli Scorpion Verde M+S tyres fitted in May 2019 with less than 3000 miles on them. *Gearbox oil and filter change at 45,000 miles. *Brake fluid flushed and renewed Nov 2018. *Last service by a VW independent Nov 2018. *New Bosch wiper blades fitted September 2019. My daughter booked her car in with the Service Department at Marshall’s for a routine oil change service a few days ago. She then received a call from the Service Dept informing her that her tyres were close to the legal limit, her brake pads needed replacing, the gearbox oil and filter required changing, brake fluid needed changing and her wiper blades should be replaced. So close to £700 to put all the “identified faults and service items” right! Luckily her boyfriend is an Automotive Engineer. He spoke on the phone and Marshall’s agreed to carry out the oil change service as requested. When they went to pick the car up she noticed that they charged her for windscreen wash even though she had filled it completely the day before. They immediately removed this from the bill. No apology for trying to gain extra money for work that just didn’t need doing. So, if you are a lone female or someone who doesn’t know that much about cars you need to avoid these cowboys like the plague! Unprofessional rip off merchants hiding behind their main dealership status
Purchased New Tiguan 1.4 from Marshall Volkwagen Taunton at a great price.Found the staff friendly and found the technicians very helpful when asking some technical questions.
The 2018 polo handbrake will not hold and you have to be extremely strong to pull it up. Denial of the design fault which is apparent soon after buying from Taunton Volkswagen.
Bought a £25K golf gti from Taunton VW, Turns out it had been in the sea! Sand and shells found under the carpet when they stripped car after mold kept growing up! (told to us by their own technicians) The car would cut out completely (engine + electrics), They said they couldn't find any problem and sent it home, My wife had 4 kids in the car and it cut out on motorway 2nd lane, Could have been a horrific accident! they took car back again and had for 7 weeks in total. Awful customer care, they don't phone to tell you anything, had to keep phoning them. Worst car dealership anywhere, I am now selling car to we buy any car losing £10k in 9 months (they had for nearly to of these months) as have no faith in anything they say or do! In seven weeks of having the car to repair in total we received NO phone calls to tells us what was happening!! We all know cars go wrong but its how you deal with it, and these are the worst! Please Please use a different garage and not Taunton Volkswagen.
