Recently bought a car from Mawsley Motor Company and was very happy with the service. Picked the car up when agreed and everything was explained in a helpful, understandable way. Had a small issue with the Sat Nav not working so went back. Rishi was extremely helpful and arranged for a replacement Sat NAc SD card. He kept me updated via email and installed a replacement card. All working and I'm happy with my new car.

I paid a deposit for a car from Mawsley Motor Company only to find out that the car has outstanding finance remaining and also cannot be tracked on the Dvla database.This place doesn’t like having to sort out their mistakes and certainly doesn’t help the customer in any way possible

Hi, Mr Mohammed, the car in question originally came from Northern Ireland. Although (still) part of the UK, they don't have the same MOT/VOSA system as us on the main land. Hence not being able to see the MOT/VOSA history online. This was all explained to you before leaving your deposit via phone. The car had Full Toyota Main Dealer Service History to back up the mileage. The car had recently been cleared from Finance from the previous owner, and we could prove this via email from the Finance company, but you could not wait for this confirmation. After your concerns, we did refund you instantly, yet you still left a negative review. Good luck in finding your next car Mr Mohammed To anyone else reading this. I live in Sywell Village and had heard of Mawsley Motor Company but had never visited them until now. Whilst recognising the staff as users of our village pub, I knew that a good 'local' reputation would be an important quality not to have damaged. The premises is situated at the end of a very long drive in very pleasant surroundings, nearly off the beaten track, as you could drive past the turning on Holcot Lane and miss it very easily. A very good choice of previously owned vehicles of varied models and specs, very popular makes and at very competitive prices (Check out their website). Neither Rishi or Jason were pushy as sales staff/manager, but both were very pleasant, professional and calm. I eventually saw the VW Golf '14' plate 2.0 TDi and arranged a test drive. I bought it and am very happy with it. The sales purchase, registering the V5 and Tax was so easy and done on premises while you wait. The MOT was also done prior to collection with no advisories. The proof and test of good sales, isn't during the purchasing but when an issue happens soon after. Well it did resulting in the need of a new windscreen due to some wiper blade etch marks that were totally across the drivers side wiper blade arc in full and about 2-3 cms wide at that. This happened the day I drove the car away, it having been washed/cleaned prior to collection. Neither myself, my wife, my best friend and 3 neighbours noticed this, each having a thorough inside/out and all around inspection when I test drove it. It simply appeared when I flipped the wiper blade once, driving back from Wellingborough. I took the car back the same day as collection, Jason examined the marks and attempted to address them professionally but this was unsuccessful. Rishi agreed to go 50/50 on the cost of a new screen approx £150 each, very reasonable. However, I went through my Ins Co and Autoglass replaced the windscreen, my excess being £75. Rishi refunded my excess without quibble. You cannot ask for fairer or better than that!. I have no hesitation in recommending Mawsley Motor Company and will definitely consider them again when I need to change the VW. Thank you everyone David C Sywell Village

Honestly do not recommend Mawsley Motor Company. Purchased a ka last year all seemed okay. Requested as part of sale deal that the car was mot and serviced! Well the car was barley serviced as the timing belt was due for replacement at this time of service. Have since found out a year later due to needing the car to be serviced!! When trying to solve the issue they half heartedly offered to let their garage look at it! very convenient considering the garage they used couldn’t even advise on the service belt??? Apparently a timing belt is merely a serviceable item- pretty big serviceable item? Funny it was not serviced by them... Obviously doing back handers with the garage!! Also must have terrible records and suddenly couldn’t remember selling the car and had no record of it? AVOID!

Alyce bought a 5 year old Ford KA from us in December 2017. As part of the sale deal, She requested us to do a fresh 12 months MOT and an oil change. She then rings up almost a year later, complaining that the cam belt was over due when we had serviced the car in 2017. The car when bought had only done 26000 miles. We asked her to bring it back so we can investigate why it was missed, and whether in fact it had or hadn't been done, but she refused for us to look at it. Alice came across very rude and in the end terminated the call after calling us con men. We since have tried to email her, to offer, as a gesture of goodwill to change the cam belt for free. She will not answer us. We are a small run family business, as a Director, I personally work 7 days a week and have built a very honest, reputable business over the last 10 years. We sell approx 800 cars a year and I personally feel this is an unfair review. We always do our upmost to make sure our cars leave in satisfactory condition for the age and mileage. Yes, things do go wrong and mistakes may happen but we always try and rectify things as best we can. Alyce didn't give us a chance to try and resolve her issues but just slated us on here. I was very dubious about buying a car from this company as usually only go to a main dealer, but they happened to have a vehicle I was looking for that had done 22,000 miles. Most of their vehicles appear to be very high mileage though. They offered me the lowest price of any other dealer for my car which I had purchased from a main dealer only just a few weeks earlier, but I decided I wanted a bigger car. I expected lower prices than from a main dealer as they offer no warranty except 30 days which they are legally required to do. They actually are selling the car I traded in for considerably more than I paid so they do charge the very top end. I had the vehicle serviced and a tyre was bald on the outside so I then went to a tyre company who said the tyre was illegal and the other back one also needed replacing. I rang Mawsley and spoke to Simon who was less than helpful and said that was wear and tear and not covered. ( I had done about 50 miles!) I asked for the director to call me back which he did very quickly ( Think his name is Nisha?) He actually agreed to pay for one tyre, like for like which I think is fair. However, the tyre company then said he could not pay by card over the phone and they could not give a vat receipt. I then took the car to an MOT inspector of long standing that I trust who said the tyre was perfectly legal and the other was fine, both have 3ml tread. It transpires the tyre company were trying to con me. I have only had the car 2 weeks yet, but everything else seems fine. I would have given an extra star, but they changed their mind on price from when I first went to see the car by then offering me less for mine and also agreed to provide a hand book, but then wouldn't so I had to pay Citroen £30 for a book and service book. Luckily there was a paper service record and the service was only a month overdue. I think I personally would stick to a main dealer in the future as not all the employees have very good customer service and appear a bit in the dark about procedures, but if you know what you are doing they are probably OK.

We are a small independent dealer. We have the same procedures as some of the main dealers. The staff we have, have main dealer backgrounds and we always treat everyone the same. On this occasion, the reviewer, was quite a hard person to deal with. She came across with no trust, we did everything she wanted, but yet she couldn't be 100% pleased. Mate, u just coated me 2min of my life I will never get back. Why the whole story about a bloody tire if in the end it was ok? It didn't concerned the dealer , so why waste time your and other people? And you seriously couldn't tell the difference between bold and legal tyre on your car? Good job, you must be amazing driver .
