PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING FROM HERE!!!! My wife recently bought a Kia Carens from Mike Neal in Castleford, Advertised with dvd players in headrests, guess wot no dvd in the head rests but hey ho these thing happen as they said they just put the car description on from autotrader. On the test drive I noticed that the brake pedal had a lot of travel on it and also a slight vibration under braking, I mentioned this to the guy who said "don't worry it will all get sorted out", great no problem I thought. My wife paid full price for the car in order to get 12 months mot and 3 months full warranty as agreed. The problems with the brakes had not been sorted so I took it to an independant garage for checking, diagnosis? brakes sticking on on drivers side worn discs on both front and back. Upon checking the previous mot's I noticed that this had been an advisory on the last 2 tests but guess wot not a mention on this one- possible dodgy mot? upon ringing Mike neal to enquire when this fault could be rectified under the warranty we were told in no uncertain terms that it was the braking system and "we don't cover that under warranty it's down to you" Anyway after some arguing back and forth we are taking it to an independent garage for the work to be done basically because we don't trust Mike Neal to do the job!! This firm is happy to promise you anything to get your money but when you need anything from them the warranty ( and anything else I presume) is not worth the paper it is written on!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALER Happy to take your money but aftersales service ....... whats that????

I bought a car from this dealer at the start of the year, I never dealt with Mr Neal, to be fair the young lad was very helpful and polite! And that's where it ends in afraid. My car came with a fresh MOT which was an absolute joke, handbrake doesn't work and I've replaced a propshaft, 12 bushes, two front flexi brake hoses, cv boot and the fuel filter head! I'm a little disappointed as I have two young daughters and this company couldn't give a damn. It's all sorted now and a real mot has been put on it! I didn't even contact him re warranty because he clearly doesn't care. Oh and I serviced it myself, all filters were old and dirty so yet another lie...... It's a fantastic car now!!!!

Be-aware of this seller. Put a down a deposit and was told car comes with full service and 3 Months Warranty. After a few weeks car failed to start and after contacting Mike was told it was not under warranty. I also noticed the oil was black , Car had not been serviced. These people would not speak to me denying all knowledge so I wrote letters but no response now have a ccj out and will see what happens. Avoid them at all costs they are so dishonest and once they take your money they don't want to know.

Hi, Ive just had a similar terrible experience with mike neal garages, got a TT from Castleford garage, turned out to be a complete lemon. Might be off to small claims court soon, just waiting for financial ombudsman to get back to me (claim is currently with them)....was just wondering if you've heard anything about this ccj youve got on them?

WATCH OUT FOR THIS DEALER, DON'T BE TAKEN IN BY MIKE NEIL'S LIES!!!!! My daughter found a car at Mike Neil in Pontefract. Car was tidy enough, and bought on the understanding that it would be serviced, MOT'd and had a six month warranty. To be fair the a couple of they employees they were helpful, promised to fix a couple of minor cosmetic issues with the vehicle, which they did. When it came to collecting the vehicle, I checked the oil, to find that it hadn't been changed as it was still black,( I had previously noted that it hadn't been serviced in the previous 2 years) I asked why, Mike Neil himself jumped up from his desk and started shouting at me. I mentioned the oil was still black, he tried to tell me it was because it was a diesel car (for those of you who don't know, oil is clear when its changed, especially halfway up the dipstick) I asked him not to insult my intelligence, explaining A) I work in the trade, dealing with trucks and oil samples & B) after reading how bad their reputation was, I felt I had to check. Mike Neil, in his full & very, very arrogant glory tried to tell me all his reviews were verified and 100% (correct, if you believe Autotrader) and that any others on the internet were written by people who were jealous because they see him driving around in a Bentley!!!! He then proceeded to start ripping up £20 notes and throwing them in the bin, asking what possible reason did he have not to service a car??? I told him HE WASN'T IMPRESSING ME WITH HIS GESTURES OR THE SIZE OF THE CAR HE DRIVES! He did then return to his desk and shrugged his shoulders, saying deduct the price of the oil from the bill, which I did. If I hadn't been so angry at this point, I would have been quicker off the mark and taken his torn up £100 out of the bin, which would have helped with the cost a the rest of the service items that needed doing. After this, I also put the car through another MOT, just to make sure it was legitimate. I'm laughing about it now, but BEWARE, MIKE NEIL IS A LYING, ARROGANT CHEAPSKATE. If he promises a service CHECK YOUR OIL BEFORE YOU HAND OVER YOUR CASH! Better still, if you have a credit card, pay for it on that, at least the credit card company will also help you if you have a problem.

Bought a car from Mike neil and I thought I was getting a good service and boy was I wrong. When we picked the car up it was fine the a couple of days later the oil light came and I rung the so called transport manager lmao and he said bring it to us and we will sort it true to his word I took it back and he did sort it. And left happy. A couple of weeks later the engine management light came on and wouldn't start so I took it to my local garage and got them to check it on the scanner and it came up with egr valve so once a gain a rung mike neil transport manager and he said that would sort it which was good so I asked if they was going to get it recovered and I had to stand the cost to get it to them which was over 1 1/2 drive away so I said I shouldn't have to do that because it's still in its warranty. He said no I have to pay so I said okay ill get it there and will you be fitting a new part OH NO WE WILL BE PUTTING A SECOND HAND PART ON WHAT SORT OF GARAGE FITS SECOND HAND PARTS UNDER WARRANTY. He also said he would post the egr valve to my local garage and 2 weeks later no show on the part so i have had the garage put a new part on ( brand new from audi) I can honestly say stay well clear there after car is shocking . And to top it off when it was at my local garage the discs were that bad one was cracked and my wife and children use this car and it could of been alot worse so when it was moted it must of been a blind man doing it so they must fug there cars through a mot I will be reporting the mot station. Because since having it checked out the discs and pads all round are knackered and sombody has put a screw in the bleed pipe for the coolent the clutch will need replacing because the cable has been adjusted with a couple of washers........

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS HERE!!!!!!! I recently purchased a Renault Megane from Mikes dealers in Pontefract , I had spoken to Phil and Mike about the car and all seemed well at first, I agreed to put a deposit on the car over the phone as I'm 4 hours away, the car was then mot'd (failed it) and had its so called pdi service (total bull) , a week later I travelled nearly 4 hrs to collect the car, when we arrived which was early in the morning the car was not there but did turn up 15 mins later when they started to wash it ?? Strange as they knew I was coming early. On inspecting the car on arrival it was relatively clean and tidy, but the parcel shelf was missing (which they did forward on after), I had a short test drive and all seemed well, deal was done and i drove away. Shortly after wards it started to rain heavy on the m1, I switched on the front and rear wipers and I could not see a thing out of the screen, front wiper blade were totally warn out and heavy smearing and the rear one didn't even have a rubber blade on it, it was so bad I stopped at halfords and purchased new front and rear wipers to the tune of £40.00, I carried on and then used the washer jets guess what no water I checked the bottle and water was fine then noticed the broken pipe to to washer jets, another stop to purchase a 99p joiner (how did this car get through its mot I wonder. Any way after this I carried on and got home ok, I Am a motor technician in a main dealer and decided to take the car in to work to put it on a ramp and look it over and also replace a key battery (as the warning was on the dash, oh dear me my new car had 3 virtually worn out tyres, a engine oil leak to be proud of, play in the steering rack joints (described as slight on mot) more than slight I will say, seized front suspension hubs, a very stiff gear change which turned out to be a seized gear linkage and also I had developed a crunch in 2nd gear. As well as a/c not work in (cracked condenser), rear window demister only working on 2 bars and a cracked alloy wheel and a buckle alloy as well, I text, emailed and spoke to Alistair their so called after sales manager (what a joke), basically the cars are prepared to take in to account the age and value, so as mine was not that expensive it got bugger all done to it, I asked for some help with the cost to put some of these things right (they refused ), they did ask to bring the car back and they would look at it and get there local welder to weld the wheel back together, at this point I needed a reliable safe car, so I carried out a full service, replaced the leaking sump gasket and freed off the gear linkage and replaced all 4 tyres and had the tracking adjusted (replaced all 4 tyres as the one they had fitted for the mot was a brand my local tyre supplier had never heard off and was probably a £20.00 ditch finder from China, the key battery turned out to be a fault I the key and with only one key that's another £200, the crunch in 2nd gear turned out to be a clutch fault £900 yes £900, front hubs need total rebuild £400, steering rack joints £200, rear window demister £200 plus fitting, alloy wheels well I purchased a second had wheel for £40.00 and had the other wheels straightened and welded and refurbished at a cost of £280, TO TOP THIS OFF THE BEARING THEY REPLACED FOR THE MOT WAS NOT FITTED CORRECTLY AND THEY DAMAGED THE LINK BAR WHEN THEY FORCED IT TOO FAR BUT JUST LEFT IT!!! PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE, THEY DO NOT DO ANY CHECKS ON THE CAR, THEY MUST HAVE AN ARRANGEMENT WITH THE LOCAL TESTING STATION AS TO PASSING CARS THAT SHOULD FAIL AN MOT, THEY REFUSE TO LET ANY ONE ELSE REPAIR THE CARS AND ARE VERY ARROGANT TO ANY ONE ELSE'S APPRAISAL ,EVEN THE MAIN DEALERS ??? I'M LUCKY AS I'M IN THE TRADE AND I DON'T PAY LABOUR , TO BE HONEST I COULD HAVE PURCHASED A MUCH NEWER CAR WITH WHAT I HAVE SPENT ON THIS CAR, DO NOT BUY, WARRANTY THEY PROVIDE IS SHIT, ATTITUDE IS AWFUL, EXTRA WARRANTY THEY SELL CHEAP IS AWFUL (Google it see the reviews), I've actually spoken to trading standards now and they have advised they will look in to them as they are known, solicitor is now dealing with it for me, Google mikes garages and look for all the poor rewiews, no landlines numbers all mobiles, different company names, not registered with companies house, has dept markers again him for a dept with a previous partner all together not trustworthy. Trust me buy from a main dealer the cars are properly prepared and warranteed. It's cheaper in the long run.

Mike Neal is one of the worst dealers I have ever come across. Bought a lovely looking car. Wouldn't allow me to test drive it though and drove it himself. I asked questions about the car but he seemed dismissive and said he doesn't get involved in the cars. Strange answer! After a few days I rang to say I had a problem with the car. He said bring it back and I will sort it. Windscreen washer wasn't working and suspension bush was worn. Both these things should have been picked up on the new MOT provided. Gave me a car to use while it was being fixed. Car they lent me was an MOT failure and dangerous. Probably uninsured as well leaving me uninsured as well. So far I have spent £1000 to keep this car on the road. Car was supposed to be fully serviced on delivery but this is not the case. Spark plugs and air filter are definitely old and should have been changed. I am now in the process of going through Trading Standards and will see him in court if he doesn't refund all the money I have spent. Stay well away from his forecourts and buy elsewhere.

Recently purchased my second vehicle, Jeep Grand Cherokee from Mike. Yet again I can't fault the vehicle or the service from all who dealt with me. It was second to none. A very satisfied customer for the second time around. Thank you.
