I bought a car from MMC in 2014, I recall it was trading under a different name then (SMC?) but it was definitely Dominic from 'Can't pay take it away' that sold it to me. Engine management light came on after 10 minutes driving, Took weeks of stress and arguments, had to cause a scene to get my money and car I'd part ex'd back. Please do not buy from him you'll just get problems that never get fixed!

Purchased a car from Nottingham Autogroup, on the way home (180 miles) several problems arose. After several calls, spending money, messages, arguing and email I returned it and collected my original car I part ex'd. Over 200 miles put on it, over half a tank of fuel used and it was grubby. Avoid them completely.

My car from MMC ar broke down on the way home on the M1... They didn't want to know.. Leave well alone. Accelerator cable tied with string.. Rear light cluster stuck on with mastic.. Avoid at all costs.... Laughed when I wanted them to arrange a tow truck off the motorway... Then totally blanked my calls.. Avoid Avoid Avoid..

Just don't do it! They have a bad reputation for a reason despite them putting 5 star reviews on in the last 2 weeks... It won't change people's opinions! Seen the wheeler dealers on 'can't pay we'll take it away'. Would not touch MMC Nottingham with s barge pole.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE! MMC/Dans Motor Group, SMC - all the same Rainworth and Gedling. I bought a car in 2013, I didn't even get it 2 miles away, engine management light came on, they reset it, it didn't even get it home again. Messed me about for 2 weeks until it was 'fixed' then light came on again before I got it home. Got money back after 2 more weeks of arguing, stress and having no car. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE, THESE GUYS WERE ON 'DON'T PAY TAKE IT AWAY;' - DOMINIC - SAME GUY!

For people that don't know the history. A38 direct cars trading standards shut down that then became Dealer direct cars that changed to approved motor group that merged with spectrum motor company aka Armstrong developments ltd which was a half decent company before the Jones family got involved and took the company assets and set up another company in Derby. Please research Robert and Amanda Jones, he's free from prison now for the offences. Dominic Jones aka William and Tom are his sons just acting as yes men for their father. They will just shut down and reopen elsewhere or try change their name. They are only in Mansfield and not hard to find. Shocking dealer (Nottingham auto group).. the scum wouldn't sort the issues under warranty on my range rover sport. Told me i was nit picking as i am a mechanic, Had my car for two weeks with no communication, stereo on full blast when I went to collect, my cd's all over the car, no fuel remaining after I left half a tank, avoid like the plague! Just seen these crooks on TV aswel lieing through their teeth! Will get the repairs done myself and see these fools in court!

Bought a golf from MMC in January 16. Notice a lot of black smoke from the rear view mirror. Booked the car into the garage for check over noticed it has never been serviced, cambelt needed changed, brakes where low, tyres needed changed, oil was was thick sludge. After a service it was still blowing out black smoke so took it to a specialist garage and carried out a diagnostic test which carried out more problems including an inlet manifold replacement which the the garage stated is the worst they have ever seen. I would not recommend anyone to buy from this garage if they are looking for a second hand car, the cars may look good on the outside but once taken to a proper mechanic you will then notice serious problems.

My son bought a bmw 130i m sport from MMC but from their Mansfield branch, the car was advertised by Dan motor group, which is a MOT centre and told me that MMC often advertise using their name without their knowledge on Auto trader. My son paid £5995 for the car and ask all the relevant questions before the purchase. When he took me for a drive I noticed a lot of shaking on the steering wheel, not happy so I booked the car in for a retest, it failed, classed as dangerous on two aspects, I did a bit more digging and found out it's a cat d write off, not advertised as a cat d through auto trader, my son then exercised his rights to reject under the consumer rights act, it's been 6 days,2 visits , numerous phone calls to MMC nothing back .
