I purchased a Vauxhall Corsa from Motorpoint Birtley earlier this year. I was initially reluctant to make the purchase as the branch were not in possession of the full service history for the vehicle. The sales Rep, 'Kimberly Herron' informed me that all of the services had been carried out and she could obtain them if I purchase the vehicle. She promised to send then to me once received. I needed a vehicle and foolishly went ahead and bought the vehicle! Months later, I had still not received any service history from Kimberley. I even called into the branch and spoke to Kimberley personally. She once again promised me she would chase this and even denied guaranteeing that the the vehicle had a full service history. Again I heard nothing. Despite me ringing continuously and calling into the branch, Kimberly Herron has refused to take, or return any of my calls. Out of shear frustration, I decided to contact Customer Services (Head Office) myself, where I was informed that no request for the service record had every been requested by Kimberly Herron. I must say Customer Services were great and sent them to me within hours. Kimberly Herron will promise you the world and fail to deliver. She is only interested in making a sale! I cannot comment on the other sales team, but do not buy a vehicle from Kimberly. I have submitted a Personal Customer Complaint against Kimberley Herron to Head Office Motorpoint. Date of experience: 12 November 2024
Love my new Audi A3 S line, fantastic price and great car!
Purchased a vehicle from birtley motorpoint in march 23 gave it the quick once over had a little test drive, during the paperwork process the sales assistant said it had a full service history. I checked the paperwork to find the vehicle had not been serviced in 2022 sales assistant apologised. I took this up with the service manager who told me that it was down to the owner, who could choose the 2 year service option. I visited my local dealer service centre for confirmation, they said the vehicle is registered as a fixed service plan, which basically means every year or 10,000 mls whichever comes first. So I was told a load of rubbish by the sevice manager. I drove the vehicle home and found water leaking into the footwell from the window wiper/washer system quite badly. In the paper work they gave me on the inspection sheet it had a section to test which they had dealer stamped but not tested. I have on going issues with my vehicle, which motorpoint are eventually going to fix so they tell me. If you are thinking of using motorpoint take the time to read the T and C's so that you realise. You only have 7 days to try and return the vehicle to get a full refund if your not happy. Motorpoint sound great showrooms look great but if you have any issues wuth your vehicle dont be dissappointed if they take months to sort out, maybe your warranty will run out in that time too.

Left a £99 deposit to secure a car while finance was getting sorted, unfortunately decided not to go through with purchase, was informed it would take 3/5 working days to have deposit returned,we are now in day 6,so called customer service have informed me they cannot help,so it looks like I’m going to have to go down the legal route,it’s amazing they can take the money in under a minute put can’t give it back,
Drove away on the same day, 1st class service from start to finish!
Bought a car being 18 months old 4 days before Christmas 2020, now 5 months on I find there is a fault on the aircon. I didn't use the aircon in the winter so the problem wasn't found. Booked the car in to the Peugeot Garage (still under warranty) only to find that there is no wheel nut key in the vehicle. Rang Birtley number of Motorpoint only to find you are put through to Derbyshire. Drove miles to return to Birtley and explained the problem. They argued that the key was in the glove box (according to their paperwork) then said it could be in the boot. So clearly the paperwork IS wrong. They refused to help me saying I had it when I drove away. I explained that I had no reason to remove the wheel of a practically brand new car so why would I have even had the key. I was told the manager was not available and she would call me the next day, I am still waiting. In the meantime I have had to buy the key at a charge of £100 through no fault of my own. I have lost my slot for the aircon to be fixed and the next appointment is two weeks time, they don't know how long they will have my car but they will give me a courtesy car but I will have to pay £10 per day for insurance. I have insurance. Where is the courtesy in that. So basically it's cost me £100 for a new key, and then who knows how long they will have my car so more money. Absolute disgrace. They are all over you when you enter to buy then they are not interested. I had full intention of upgrading after a year but I will not be returning or recommending to anyone. Their loss.
About 4 weeks ago we (my wife and I) paid £15,000 (including P.E.) for a car from Birtley Motorpoint. And all seemed well. The salesman was friendly and helpful and did not pressure us at all. Our 'new' car was less than a year old and it had done under 10,000 miles. I know I should have checked under the bonnet or even had my own engineer check it out, but I didn't - I don't think everyone does. Anyway just over 2 weeks after I bought the car I popped the bonnet to refill the windscreen wash and I saw that a big chunk had been ripped out of the insulation sheet. It looks really untidy. If I could show a picture you could see what I mean. And yes I know it's not much. A piece ripped out of the insulation. But everyone has pride in their new car and they want it to look its best. So on Tuesday this week I drove down to Motorpoint to ask them about it. The customer service rep had a look at it and said, "no problem, I'll take the car down to the service bay and have it fixed for you". I thought great, I've chosen a decent company here. I waited in the company cafe and about 15 minutes later the service rep came back and told me that his manager said that this was only cosmetic and the car can work perfectly well with this damage, so they weren't going to do anything about it. After the previous relatively good experience, I'm so very very disappointed at the after sales service attitude. Maybe they deserve more than one star. But I'm so disappointed in their attitude that the appearance of the car, even if it is under the bonnet is not something that they want to have at least near perfect in a car that is under a year old and has done less than 10,000 miles. What do you think?

In September I bought my Ford Focus from Motorpoint in Birtley and I am really happy with it! The car was really nice and clean and in excellent condition and up to now I have had no issues with it at all. The staff were happy to help and I think I got the car for a really good price. I would recommend this dealership.
