First impressions were good, no hassle to look around at cars. Bought a car and but within 2 days problems started with the entertainment screen, then it was the engine management light illuminated and warnings of other issues with the Audi A1 I had purchased. This was all less than 6 days after purchase, unable to call the store direct you have to call through the main call centre. I did try to email the salesman Hugh (which he had advised me to do if required), and got no reply from him just customer service who said they would pass it to him, I never heard back from the Hugh. I was given incorrect information on my legal right to cancel the sale and my refund of the deposit! They insisted that I had to book the car in at a later date for a diagnosis test to see what the faults where before they would allow me to reject the car.. this is wrong informationand a delay tactic! Again after I insisted a full refund from customer service instore, katie (customer service) advised me I was not due any refund on my £4000 deposit, after disputing this Katie from customer service stated she was not financially trained and she was only telling me what she had been told to tell me! In the end I did get a full refund and the faulty car was returned, but they tried every tactic to avoid this. Customer service really need training on customer service full stop as they dont provide any, shocking tactics and mis information. Just avoid would be my advice!!! 0/10
Be very careful with this company. Heavily profit driven. We had finance approved by alphera and wanted to do a straight bank transfer but because we didn’t take their finance (so they get commission) they refused the sale. Never heard of any car company EVER refusing a cash sale. They always push for you to take their deals, fair enough, but never refusal. Would have been nice if this information was stated at the start of our 1.5 hour visit to the showroom. Also one of their cars on the forecourt stank of cigarettes and another had burger wrappers in the pockets. I think they’re valet team need a wee push on what’s acceptable! Everything happens for a reason though and thankfully we got a much better deal at Arnold Clark.
Thankyou motorpoint for resolving issue once I’d purchased Citroen aircross a few months after buying it. I was worried that I would have to bear the cost but once I highlighted the fault Glasgow came through. I very much appreciate the help I received. And a big thankyou to Enja (England) for persevering and Hugh (Glasgow) for highlighting problem. Also the lady at reception in Glasgow who organised fault to be fixed. I would certainly deal with motorpoint in the future and add that I’m very pleased with my car. (Mrs) Shirley mccoard
Was due to pick up my daughters new car on Friday 30th August 2024 from Motorpoint (London Road, Glasgow). Unfortunately this was not the case which now I am very fortunate that we didn't. I have picked up two cars in the past from Motorpoint with little to no issues. Apart from long waiting times to be seen to. Have given the 1 star rating due to the fact we managed to get to an agreement of sale and agreement of trade in price for my daughters 12 year old car (or so we thought). At the start of the process it was good to be allowed to brows the cars on site with no hassle or interruptions from the sales team. My daughter was excited about picking her new car up with documents received confirming price and trade in price for her car at £900. The issue was the value of her trade in based on an intermittent engine management system light on the dashboard. We had an independent garage look at it and could not reset this light as it kept re-appearing after a few drives later, but were assured this was ok and not a detrimental issue or concern when driving the 12 year old car. My Daughter had been driving it in this condition for over 6 months with no issues. Issue was when the sales executive seen the light he said value dropped to £400. My daughter was in tears and really annoyed. I was certainly not happy to see my daughter suffer and have this poor experience. The Branch Manager talked to us and felt everything was down to how much money he would risk losing at auction when car was valued between £400 - £1200 at auction. He only increased the offer to £550 after noticing how upset my daughter was. Felt customer satisfaction was not ever considered during this whole process and this has resulted it my worst ever experience of buying a car. I was so proud of my daughter to say she would not be taking the car as after administration charges, tax and fees she would only be receiving £160 off the original advertised window price of the car. Further to this, we did notice a large torque movement from the engine when starting which was noisy and did not look right. Was told this was normal for small 1 litre engines such as for a Corsa etc. and it settles down once out of 1st gear. It did drive ok during the test drive so was not too concerned until we turned engine on when we were about to pick it up and noticed less movement as if the engine had been tightened up. This was very strange. I do not usually complete reviews but felt it was important to highlight issues when buying a new car. I would advise making sure agreement is made and a full check is made when valuing your trade in as this was far to subjective and not a very pleasant experience. Also feel Motorpoint should learn from this as not acceptable to be treated in this way. We were not even offered a drink/coffee or greeted nicely when we arrived to pick up my daughters new car. Felt Motorpoint just wanted to make as much money as possible and did not adhere to customer satisfaction standards at any point. I would definitely have serious thoughts about returning to Motorpoint in the future and advise people to be aware of this and ensure full and final agreement of trade in is agreed and clear prior to picking up of your new car. I would also suggest Motorpoint take note and learn from this feedback and have some consideration for the customer as I'm sure if they were in our shoes, they would definitely not be happy with they treatment they would have received. This type of experience will guarantee less customers returning to Motorpoint in future for their next car purchase. Just to finalise that my daughter was so upset that she wanted to look elsewhere for another similar vehicle. We managed to source one on that same day which had 14,000 less miles, a newer model and received just over £1300 more for her trade in vehicle. Daughter now delighted with her new car.

I bought a car from Glasgow Motorpoint for nearly £20k. The handbrake was "completely shattered" as stated by the car dealership I took it to. Also there was a bald tyre which had been added by Motorpoint, This is against the manufacturer's advice as it can damage the four wheel drive system. I have now spent two months dealing with their shoddy warranty company, Spectrum Insurance. I have not gotten through to them once to discuss this with them. Only an email refusing to pay for the work carried out on the handbrake of over £500. I asked to forfeit the warranty and have a refund, but was refused. Motorpoint eventually admitted liability for the faulty handbrake and paid for the work. However, they are still refusing to pay for the tyres, even though this may be damaging the four wheel drive system. I have informed them I have a serious heart condition, and that the stress of dealing with this is making me ill, but they just keep sending me random emails telling me they won't pay for the faults on the car.
My daughter’s first car buying experience at Motorpoint Glasgow was supposed to be a positive and memorable milestone, but it turned out to be anything but that. We arrived for our appointment to collect her car, only to wait around for an hour before a trainee informed us of an electrical fault she had just discovered. This was particularly frustrating since we had been told the car was ready for us five days ago. The trainee, although lovely and doing her best, we asked for the manager. Unfortunately, this ’customer care’ manager demonstrated a shocking lack of customer care. She was condescending and seemed utterly indifferent to our concerns. Hoping for a better response, we spoke to the general manager, but he displayed a "take it or leave it" attitude, offering no solutions or apologies. To add insult to injury, when we finally inspected the car, it was clear it hadn’t been cleaned and had numerous scuffs and dents – issues that should have been addressed before our appointment. Given the overall poor treatment and condition of the car, we decided to leave. As we walked out, the so-called customer care manager didn’t even acknowledge us, solidifying our decision to take our business elsewhere. This experience was extremely unpleasant and disappointing. I strongly advise others to avoid Motorpoint Glasgow if they value good customer service and a smooth car buying process.

Purchased car 15th May 24, Highlighted a couple of issues relating to presentation of vehicle on day of collection. Car had to be taken back to valeting guys as had not as much as been hoovered out or cleaned. Also taken into paint shop to touch up a chip on front bumper. £30,000 car which they told me didn't come with car mats. Scratches to the glass screens on both the infotainment screen & control screens. Removable centre console cup holder cover missing...told they wouldn't replace. Spoke to Katie next day 16th about these issues...was told she'd call me back later that day after speaking to someone in the workshop about buffing out the scratches and getting me booked in......4 days later still no contact. We have your cash, you've signed the deal...we don't really care anymore.....fantastic motorpoint !!

The service was excellent from start to finish. The salesman Justin was very knowledgeable about the car and products. Not a pushy sales pitch. Would recommend Motorpoint and asking for Justin.

SHOCKING AFTERSALES CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I have multiple issues with my new car which should have been covered under under the 3 month warranty but they didn't care and stated "due to the length of time I had my car and when I brought it to there attention" , that is irrelevant, it's still within the 3 month warranty period! FACT!. Therefore I will be bombarding social media with there shocking customer service, so everyone knows about it, seeking legal advice and a complaint has been sent to the Motor Ombudsman. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE, YOU WILL REGRET IT! READ ALL THE OTHER AWFUL REVIEWS. I WISH I HAD BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR!
