"Torn arm rest hidden away!"

I bought a car in January 24 and was happy with the experience. I've bought 6 cars from Motorpoint across three sites in the UK. I found, when I finally dropped the rear armrest nearly a month after buying the car (my mistake!) that the stitching was completely torn and lose. On complaining I was told I'd signed to say I was happy with the condition of the vehicle and there was nothing they could do. Staff were confrontational and said we had done this, so basically called me a liar.

I found out when a professional looked at my car that Motorpoint had resprayed my 1 year old car, voiding the BMW warranty, I thought it was just wax and because I didn't realise the seriousness until later, they told me they weren't interested in helping at all. This was after ignoring both an email and a form submission which had a supposed 3 day response time. Don't assume you're getting anything better here because the cars are newer. Clearly something must have been wrong with mine and now I'm worried it's been in an accident.

Most unprofessional experience I have ever had in car business. At all costs, please avoid - especially Hugh, Justin & ‘customer sales’ manager Victoria, who all couldn’t care less about customer satisfaction. I ordered (£150 charge) for a vehicle to come up from Chingford store to Glasgow - and was promised a week max for delivery. I got a text on day 6 to say your car is ready for collection and to come along to the store. After turning up, I was told that this is just a ‘standard message’ from the system and actually the car wasn’t yet here. After day 9 I had to chase up the status of the car as no one from Glasgow store would take my calls/emails, to find out it had failed transport and was in fact still at the Chingford site. At this point I confronted the store again, only to be told (without apology) they knew nothing about it, and were reluctant to give me my £150 fee back. Furthermore, my settlement for my current car was due up that week, so I suggested selling my car to them without trade in (as they have failed to provide their end of the trade in), at which point £1K was slashed off my trade in price - simply because ‘the system said so’. No one would give me a straight answer, and after being passed about from employee to employee, I ended up taking my business elsewhere. I understand a trade in value is different from a sales value, but if they can’t hold up their end of a trade then I don’t see why I should be punished. Please avoid at all costs, con artists at work and inadequate staff who are incapable of taking any responsibility. Take your business elsewhere to someone who actually cares.

"Customer Service Is So Disconnected."

Having bought a car from Motorpoint Glasgow with low mileage and what I believed was still under the warranty my troubles started from a car less than 3yrs old. I discovered micro blisters along with the trim had not been attached properly I contacted Glasgow not interested as I did with BMW/Mini thinking it still under the warranty NO WAY are they entertaining me. I contacted the finance company who sent out their own engineer from Dekra to inspect the car his findings are as follows. 1.Paintwork is very dull in patches. 2.Micro blisters on roof. 3.Signs of rust on top of front passenger door frame. 4.Trim around the car isn’t flush. 5.Someone has used MASKING TAPE to keep the trim down in some parts. I could go on and on but it’s just wasted energy the list is endless. The finance company have upheld my complaint the car was taken away to be put right or so I thought how wrong I was. The same issue was still there with the trim.Having asked to speak to a customer service manager their both off on the same day. The usual they’re happy to take your money but the after care sales is shocking. Some have had a good experience but for me personally it’s been awful dismissive beyond belief with my complaint.

Bought a car from here and had nothing but hassles since I got it. Currently paying for a car I’ve not been able to drive for the past 4 weeks due to underlying damage, due to having the car out with the 6 months (I’ve had it 7 months) they have no interest in helping, simply saying they won’t can’t do anything!!! Was on calls for over 4 hours at a time waiting to speak to someone! Avoid at ALL COSTS

Had my car 3 months and I have had nothing but nother from it. This ranges from noticing a chip on windscreen the next day. Took it into branch told not a chip but filled it over. 3 weeks later 2 warning lights come on, told to take to nissan dealership for diagnostic test - camera lane camera needs replaced. Also told by garage that my breaks were excessively corroded and needed replaced. Argued with branch as this was queried on test drive that breaks didn't sound right but was fobbed off. Eventually after weeks of perseverance, breaks were replaced. Then only last week wiper blade motor broke and now car cannot be driven until replaced - car currently been in garage 4 days! Contacting them is only viable by email it seems tried calling and don't get anywhere with branch. Stay away selling cars which are faulty!!

After purchasing a car with a warranty from yourselves in your Glasgow branch on 10/08/22 I have had nothing but bother with it and continue to do so. After picking up the car the tyres felt bumpy, I took it into a garage, and they said the tyres were on their last tread. Ended up in Kwik fit after various calls to your customer service team which costed me money as you don’t have a free telephone line. The car ended up off the road as it got fitted with 2 new tyres although 4 were required according to Kwik Fit regulations however you would only pay for 2. A couple of weeks later I was driving along, and the engine management light came on. I took it into Halfords after contacting various Skoda dealers who said the car would need to have a diagnostic check, but they were unable to do this check as they had no availability. Spoke to several customer service agents at Motorpoint again at my expense, advised that the warranty which was just up would not be covering this though they would uplift the car and take it to a Skoda dealer. The car had been checked at Halfords where we were advised that a Skoda diagnostic test would need to be done. They also advised that we would be told it would be the spark plugs that were at fault, but they said this would not solve the problem. After much inconvenience the car was taking to Skoda at Titwood road Glasgow where a service manager said he would arrange when they had an empty spot to check it over. They did this and as advised previously by Halfords it was found to be ‘’spark plugs needed’’ this cost would be £229. The car was in skoda for over a week bearing in mind it was supposed to be in good condition when purchased. It came out of Skoda has ran another week and low and behold the light is back on again. I contacted the AA who told me I should wait until the car conks out before calling them back. Motorpoint I would like to say your aftersales is RUBBISH and I am sorely tempted to return the car and leave the car in your forecourt. The car was bought in good faith with good money paid.

Arrived expecting Mr Shiney Shoes ..Mr Gellhell Hair..or even Mr Big Mouth ... alas it was not to be .. The best welcoming interesting and pleasant staff informed me they don't have to act like a Turkish Market Man or a Bad Private Eye ..nobody followed me around stressing me out. It was soo refreshing to walk round at MY pleasure having a wee nosey at all the thingys with 4 wheels ..oh yeah CARS .. honestly I'm BLONDE and I only ever put petrol in a car because I HAVE to ... The boys/men were honest fair upfront thoughtful considerate and relevant and kind even although they could have taken advantage of my blondeness.. I never felt preasured and I left with more information about a couple of cars than i know about the one I have been driving for years.. Financialy i felt they were fair factual precise ..and I left with all the information to contemplate without any stress at all ... So much so I will be rushing back to make a purchase ... The BEST car buying experience EVER XXX

I’ve used Motorpoint a few times now and have always been delighted with the value for money. I had a problem with my recent purchase which I tried unsuccessfully to get sorted via warranty with a local dealership. I then went back to Motorpoint and they were fantastic to deal with. The end result was that they took my car back and I exchanged it for a different vehicle. On arrival at Glasgow I was anticipating problems but the sales team were superb and processed the change smoothly with no stress resulting for me. Thanks to all involved - Phil , Lewis and Adam for all your help. Will definitely plan to carry on using as it definitely works for me.
