Do yourself a favour and walk away from this dealership. Online sales require a lot of trust and good customer service; well, both are missing here, once they drop off your car don't expect anything else. So, here's my experience with Mountbatten Car Sales. At the beginning of July I contacted them to buy a 2015 Evoque with a finance agreement through their partner, Blue Motor Finance. Everything went fine and Mountbatten promised to deliver the car in one week. I insured the car, signed the finance agreement and... the car wasn't delivered; Mountbatten didn't contact me about that, I called and was told that the reverse camera suddenly stopped working after passing the MOT! And the new camera requires a software update. That, took another week and the car was finally "driven" to my address, 250+ miles on July 19. The engine compartment was never washed, I found old leaves in there, I even found cobwebs! The left rear reflector arrived broken, they promised to get a new one shipped ASAP to my address, it's now August 17 and nothing arrived. The right backseat has a spot of discolouration much larger than a 2-pound coin which was cropped from the car's listing advert pictures, and the pictures sent to me. I have been calling them for over nearly weeks now; Jeremy, the salesman who sold me the car is always "not in today". I finally got a hold of Jeremy a week ago, and promised to call me back about the broken reflector, and here we are, again. Hence, this review.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BUY FROM HERE I'm hoping Jeremy from Mountbatten Car Sales does not reply with their account of events, as I did not have the pleasure of meeting them. I went to view a car in September of this year. After taking the car on a test drive, I was informed by Richard (a member of the team) that unfortunately, I would not be able to drive away with the car today as there was some damage that needed repairing. This was understandable and we agreed on a week that would suite best. Whilst there, I was not given the opportunity to view the service documentation for this vehicle. Due to working in the NHS and having varying shift patterns, I called Richard to see whether I can reschedule coming back to view the car for a second time and get an opportunity to go through the service history. Richard explained that this can be done however he "wanted a favour in return" which was for me to pay £5000 over the phone by the "end of the day". I am extremely disappointed that your salesman demanded me to pay the full amount over the phone without me being completely happy with the car and viewing the cars documentation, which any prospective buyer has the right to do. I have never been asked to make full payment upfront for a product or service without being completely happy. Upon investigation of the vehicle's MOT history, a recurring advisory was noted 'sub-frame corrosion'. It is important to note that I was not informed of this when we asked about the cars history, and was not possible to inspect on the test drive. Below is taken from Trading Standards which outlines: "As a customer when you buy a second-hand vehicle,you have certain legal rights. These are: - You are not misled by the seller, including how the vehicle is described - You are not pressured into a sale". Due to the lack of information provided to me and the pressure put on me to pay £5,000 over the phone without seeing the car a second time and the opportunity to through the cars documentation, I will never buy a car from here. Having paid a refundable deposit to secure the car, I have not received this back from Mountbatten after three months of chasing.

Avoid like a plague, cost me thousands and put my family in danger. Gave me just the right amount of options to comply with the consumer rights act but options that didn't help the consumer at all. Ignored and left to fix the car myself made zero checks before it left I even had a bald tyre. Not Safe Not Helpful not registered with any ombudsman. Do not buy long distance 100% as in the fine print anything goes wrong with your vehicle, you must get the vehicle to them they will not collect it. Loose turbo putting toxic C02 into the car in which my 10month old son was asleep in. Could have killed my child!!!!!! no apologies just plummeted my family into debt.
I am highly recommending Mountbatten Car Sales. Great service, polite and helpful. Richard was an excellent sales person. Everything went smoothly. Very pleased customer.
I bought a Fiesta ST2 in June 2020, on the drive home it developed an oil leak. Contacted them straight away, I was unable to take it back as live over a hour and a half away. They gave me permission to fix it at local garage,, minor bill which they paid for . The faults then kept coming and car spent more time off the road then on it, Mountbatten would not take responsibility for any problems even though it was within 6 months of purchase and my legal rights said they should replace or repair. I am now without a car as the piston has gone and £7500 down. They avoid everything to give you your money back or the car fixed. Worst garage I have ever been to, avoid it.

I'm so happy with my new car and the customer service at Mountbatten Car Sales is brilliant. Right from the beginning with the several calls that I made regarding my queries, Richard the sales man was very courteous and patient. Going through the process of buying cars is one of my least favourite things to do (happy when its over and driving in new car though!) But buying a car from these guys made the process a whole lot better and it is obvious that good customer service and selling good cars is important to them. A very happy customer when I drove off the forecourt with a good car and all the paperwork sorted out. I would highly recommend these guys to find you a good quality car with a professional but down to earth approach.
Got my first car in UK and as a foreigner I’m really proud of myself for this step, however when it comes to cars I’m a Rookie but Mountbatten made it way easier then I thought! My finance processe wasn’t easy or straight forward however Liam and the team they really help me out by searching for a different financiers and taking in count that I would not afford my car if that finance was over my budget by presenting a High APR, they also taught me how the processe work and what options I would have in case I would like to make yearly payments. Thru the hole pepper work Liam had the opportunity to go thru the car service documents and history, really support me on be close contact thru calls or any question by WhatsApp (not to mention that my purchase was on distance due to lockdown restrictions). My car was handover by home delivery, precisely on the clock, incredible clean and in good shape. I got no words to express how much I’m please to find this Car-sales team and if one day I come to purchase a new car I’m pretty confident to come back to Mountbatten!

I bought a used car from Mountbatten Car Sales independent Approved dealership and within the first month of ownership I experienced: Flat battery; Serious misfire and associated limp mode; Blocked air filter; Blocked cabin/pollen filter; Faulty coolant level sensor; Faulty MAP sensor. I have had to rectify these issues myself as I haven’t the time to keep taking the car back to the garage once or twice a day. There is an issue with poor communication between Richard in Sales and the mechanics in the garage. Liam is not responsive to issues and has poor communication in after sales. The dealership operates under a dis-honest sales manner which causes confusion for what is expected when it comes to purchasing a car. Be very cautious when relying on the Pre-Delivery and Vehicle Inspection & Service check list (conducted by Ray in the garage in my case) which is promised to the customer on purchasing a car. It is very likely that it will not be honoured as in my case any of the items that were ticked had not been checked. This led to multiple faults.

Occasionally it does happen that things go wrong. I believe it is fair to say that the other reviews for Mountbatten Car Sales show your experience to be the odd occasion. When you first raised this with us mid-November, we responded the very next day with an apology for your inconvenience, an offer to reimburse you for the parts you bought and we sent you a gift voucher as a token of our appreciation for your business and for bringing the issues to our attention. As we said when we replied to your e-mail, sometimes things can get missed. It isn’t fair to try to name and shame our staff when we know that the similar issues weren’t picked up during a Peugeot main dealer inspection. I also don’t think it is fair to suggest you would have needed to return the car “twice a day”. Fact is, you decided to operate outside of our Dealer Guarantee guidelines and didn’t give us the opportunity to address the issue(s) directly. Liam’s responses to your queries were, in fact, prompt and courteous. It is actually helpful for us to receive the occasional bad review. It shows the credibility of the 99.45% of reviews we receive that are 5 Star and suggest very different experiences than you describe.
i bought a bmw 3 series In August 2020 from mountbatten car sales, after about a month, some noice suddenly starts shrilling under the bonnet, and the power lost almost completely, I have no choice but to take it to independent garage for inspection. I was told that the turbo is blown and it will be EXTREMELY dangerous to keep driving the car, since the pieces from the worn turbo may get into the engine!!! I called Mountbatten car sales and was told THERE ARE NOTHING THEY CAN DO AT ALL.

Recently purchased car from Mountbatten. Can only say they are truly fantastic. Richard looked after us and dealt with a few hiccups on the finance, showed tremendous patience. Liam and team really are the best we have seen. Would recommend Mountbatten to my family and friends as they are true professionals, polite and hardworking. Many thanks to them.
