I was looking for something different through Gumtree actually, and Next Car were there with a lovely deal on a low mileage Mazda 3 with a unique colour that I felt was perfect, the salesman was a gentleman and gave me n the wife a lovely deal, thanks for a lovely day out to Inverness ..

In the field of commerce and especially cars there is a saying: "The customer is always right". I bought a 2016 VW Passat from these gentlemen. I paid the money in advance including a two-year warranty. At six months I detected a strange noise coming from the center of the front axle (it appeared when the wheels turned). I waited a month because it was his turn to do the service for them to diagnose the problem. At first the mechanics commented that it could be coming from the gearbox. Since most of the mechanics did NOT work with the warranty company that these gentlemen sold me, I took it to the dealer who at least had the courtesy to take the car to their mechanic. According to them there was NO defect in the car and everything was correct. The tone of the commercial (Ronnie) annoying, as if I was making the problem up. After that I took the car to Les Maclaren, whose mechanics immediately saw the problem and have solved it. £400 of a car buy it with 44,000 miles. I'm sorry but I don't recommend this dealer even to my worst enemy. Not because of the existence of the problem, but because of the absurdity of paying a two-year warranty and, above all, because of his behavior with the client after the sale of the vehicle.

Reply to: Mr Jose Daniel Dominguez-Bermudez, 5 Cromartie Gardens, Tain, IV19 1BY Well, Mr Dominguez Bermudez Although we are advocates of the “customer is always right” school of thought, please allow me to demonstrate to you how (on this occasion) the customer is not always right, using your very own example. 1. The warranty company that you’ve purchased the external 3rd party warranty from is a highly respected Nationwide company, and they will work with any VAT registered garage anywhere in the UK. This is one of the reasons we choose to work with this superb company, after having constant issues with other warranty companies we’ve tried in the past. So, this is the first time you’ve been wrong. 2. The alleged “knock from a gearbox”. You very categorically and very specifically told us that you were experiencing an issue with the gearbox. An intermittent noise emanating directly from the gearbox. Having had the car inspected by not 1, but 2 independent mechanics, with a combined 80 years of experience, carrying out various hardware and software diagnostic checks, they concluded that there was absolutely no issue with the gearbox. Furthermore, we have additionally spent over 30 minutes driving around for several miles in the car with yourself and your sister in the car (your sister incidentally who has never experienced any such issue either) and not one of us had the privilege of hearing that noise that you were so terribly concerned about. So, this is the second time you’ve been wrong. 3. The invoice that you’ve kindly since sent to us after the alleged issue with gearbox “was found and fixed by another mechanic” very clearly itemises a couple of wear and tear service items that you have had replaced – nothing regarding the gearbox!! It’s the same as brake pads – wearing parts that are never covered under any warranty. But most importantly, still no problems with the actual gearbox. So, this is now the third time you’ve been wrong. But let me tell you where you have really gone wrong. We always look after our customers, hence the reason we have many thousands of happy customers, and many of whom are repeat customers and we think of them as friends now…….and even in the case of clearly non-warranty issues, we always try our best to help as much as we can to save cost for the customer. Had you come to us after the alleged issue with suspension was diagnosed, we would have possibly assisted you out there too. But now, after getting this absolutely unfair and unjustified 1* review from you, you have lost that privilege. (It does make us chuckle out loud though when individuals such as yourself, full of vitriol leave a 1 star review over a year after purchasing a car, simply because they have incurred some regular servicing / motoring costs (the typical sort of costs that are involved In running a motor vehicle) …..implying the car wasn’t clean…..the service was poor…..salespersons knowledge was lacking……not good value…..etc…etc….but as they were the one that made the decision to go ahead purchase……well, if all these things were really true, why would anyone be stupid enough to buy such a vehicle, from such an establishment?) (many of our customer who truly know us enjoy a laugh at this, and it usually leads to fresh business – so we thank you!) Wish you all the luck in future motoring, Next car **ADDITION: since leaving this false review, we have since received further emails from you now where you have gone on to refer to our Managing Director as “a person who lacks education”, and you have completed a full 360 by now claiming “No one ever claimed that it was a gearbox problem”, when in fact this is PRECISELY the claim you made. It is our opinion that only a very ignorant individual would ever make such comments.

Luckily I have only visited three garages in my life here, and I can easily give the names because they have given me magnificent service and most importantly, they have solved the problem of the matter we are talking about here. Certain comments the only thing that reaffirm is that I am right. The one who lies ends up using the insult. Congratulations.
