Shameful after sales, two weeks after purchase of Skoda Octavia, material issues with the car identified, these guys have done absolutely nothing to help and apparently can only speak to me once a fortnight when their apparent ‘legal’ representative is available. We are three months on and no further forward. It’s absolutely unbelievable to be in this position and am now having to take legal action, disappointed and hugely out of pocket. Cost of living crisis going on and paid £4.5k for a car, now having to get a loan to pay over £1k to get it fixed as need a car and still can’t be confident it will be fixed, they are refusing to refund me, it’s just shocking. Clutch has today just gone as well whilst visiting family, just goes from bad to worse so another cost, worst purchase ever made from worst garage. They should be ashamed of themselves ripping off people like this.

Good morning, we thank you for your feedback, we appreciate all feedback as we can use it to enhance on the service that we offer all our customers, we are very sorry to hear of your position and will help as much as possible to get your issues resolved. We sell between 120 to 150 cars a month, all units get a full pre-sales preparation, Mot, Service and the Timing Belt plus water pumps are changed, they all get a "No Quibble" 3 months parts and labour warranty included. You purchased a your Skoda over the phone and it was delivered to you, at the drop off point, your husband, fully inspected the vehicle and there were no issues and the transport company returned to site. Weeks later the vehicle developed a speedo/clock issue, you were advised to get a diagnostic done and to supply a full cost quotation, we were fair and requested for you to take it to your local garage and we would deal with them. A few days later you returned with a colossal price from the main dealership and demanded that we pay that quotation, we advised that the same job can be done by your local garage for a fraction of the cost, as your demands were not met and you would not compromise, we ended up in a stale mate situation and only Management would deal with you then not our normal After Sales staff. As per the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you were requested to return the vehicle for a refund as stipulated and guide lined by Law, to date you have failed to adhere to this request too. Almost three months later, you claim to have an issue with your clutch, as you are still in warranty, we will, fulfill our Legal Obligation and carry out a full diagnostic and cover (FOC) any and all mechanical failures that your vehicle clutch system has incurred, please arrange for the vehicle to be returned for this, if you wish to use a pool car whilst your is in for this, please notify us and we will arrange this. As a valued customer, we will help you with any issues that you have with your vehicle, we understand that the distance is great between us and appreciate that if you were closer we would not facing these challenges, however, you need to understand that we are also a business that is trying to survive during these "High Cost Of Living times" and cannot meet the costly main dealer repair charges that you demand, when the same repairs can be carried out at a fraction of the cost. From the moment we set foot in this place, we were treated very warmly as guests. The young man who sold us the car was really brilliant. We were struck by how friendly and good-natured all the staff were with us and each other. We are absolutely thrilled with the car and will definitely shop there again. The overall service is second to none and we have no doubts about recommending this place to others. You won't regret it.

Please avoid at all costs!! Firstly all of the positive reviews on here are mostly from customers who have yet to pick up their car (they offer you an extra months warranty if you leave 3 reviews). The sales team were very nice and friendly so even I left positive reviews at this stage to get my extra months warranty. However, since the moment I picked up my car it had faults (a loud ticking noise on acceleration and I also found out a couple of days later a huge oil leak all over my drive - neither of which were present on the test drive). I took the car back to north West autos on 2 separate occasions to fix the faults - they could not diagnose the noise on acceleration and instead I was told by the aftersales team “it is probably just age and mileage related”, “just drive it and see if it gets any worse”, and finally “there’s nothing wrong with your car” (even after various members of the team and their ‘specialist’ agreed there was an issue). I was basically told to go away. I asked for my money back under the customer rights act 2015 and they refused. They told me they had at least fixed the oil leak, but they hadn’t and the car continued to leak oil at an alarming rate all over my drive. At this point I completely lost faith in north West autos so I had to take the car to my local garage to fix the faults - it cost me £217 which north West autos have refused to refund me. The car was in the garage 6 times within 3 weeks of me owning it. The faults also turned out to be directly related to works carried out by north West autos prior to me picking up the car (2 washers on the sump plug (it’s only supposed to have one), and no washer at all in the dip stick pipe which enters the sump) - no wonder the car was leaking oil! The noise on acceleration was caused by poorly positioned cable ties on the hand brake cables (which north West autos had replaced for me) hitting the prop shaft. It took a reputable garage to diagnose and fix this for me. They also used a ‘specialist off site mechanic’ to put a recon turbo in the car but refused to tell me who this was (they said it wasn’t my business to know - it turned out to be a body shop repair company nearby). They still haven’t provided me any paper work for the turbo replacement despite me asking several times. The only thing north West autos has done for me is to provide me with a replacement AA warranty so I don’t have to visit them again - however I am still £217 out of pocket to fix a car that they broke and my drive is still covered in engine oil. The aftersales is very poor and I would certainly not recommend anybody buying a car from this company.

Hi Sean, Sorry for the delay in response. I am shocked at your description of the issues you have had. I would like you to have been more honest in how you portrayed the service you have been given starting with the fact you test drove the vehicle which had been fully serviced and had a full 12 months MOT prior to you taking the vehicle. You then contacted us and I quote your words "I picked up my new car on Saturday 22nd October and was looked after by Jimmy from sales. Upon driving home I noticed that there was a ticking/tapping noise coming from the car only when you accelerate sharply that was not there on the test drive." Our response and i again quote you "I have spoken to someone from after sales who advised me to bring the car back on a week day for inspection however this is impossible for me without taking a day off annual leave (I work Monday-Friday in a hospital and annual leave is difficult at short notice). We have agreed that I can bring the car in on Saturday for inspection by your on site mechanic. Hopefully this is a simple fix, however if the vehicle does require to be worked on during a weekday I hope we can find a suitable solution that does not inconvenience me further." At no point were you not offered a solution to fix your vehicle. Following this you requested a free 3 months AA warranty to cover the inconvenience to which Ali went one step further and gave you 6 month instead to cover any expenses you may have incurred (£81.00) to show we go that extra mile when it comes to customer satisfaction. In response to this you claimed to have other cost which were never agreed (as you took it upon yourself to take the vehicle elsewhere without inspection or agreement with aftersales). You now tried devalue the cost of a £400 warranty which is over 4 times the cost of what you originally stated and asked for a refund. As a business we cannot agree to your unreasonable demands and I believe that a refund is the only solution you will be happy with and to discontinue any further issues please return the vehicle to NWA and as per CRA2015 and our terms and conditions we will buy back the vehicle less deduction as per your request.
