Was sold a 2012 car with a good service history according to the service book, but clear signs of a front nearside accident, and after a raft of electrical faults found a large section of botched wiring. While putting a case together to contact them I came across these reviews and felt my heart sink into my guts. I can join the back of the queue or I can take it on the chin. £1000 in repairs so far, and that's before the extensive rewire I'm looking at...

Hi, I am really sorry to hear of your experience with this company. Could you tell me if they are still operating as I had heard that they had gone bankrupt and if you try to go on their website, it coms up with "this site can't be reached". I also have some unfinished business with them
Anonymous in response to Professional bad car flippers
Hi Lynn, I hadn't heard they'd gone out of business, but am not at all surprised. Sorry to hear you still have unfinished business. To update my review above, the car has so many faults it's going to have to go for scrap.
Lynn Spencer in response to Professional bad car flippers
Thanks for replying. Just one more question - are they still operating from the premises in Warsop Road, Mansfield?
Liam Shannahan in response to Professional bad car flippers
I have spoken to the performance car garage next door who told me Oakwood motors left the premises back in March 2020? They believe they went into liquidation.

I can also agree that these people are probably the worst car dealers I have ever come across. Evasive, slippery, outright liars and probably the most dangerous of all - they supplied a vehicle with obviously a dodgy MOT certificate. Promised everything - delivered nothing. Held onto settlement payments, never refunded deposit, sold huge finance agreements, would not honour the fact that original fault was present....the list goes on. They appeared to be in cahoots with a repair (bodge) shop in a nearby village. If they have ceased trading then good - we lost plenty of time and money due to their dodgy ways. Just watch out their Director does not re-surface under another trading name. I have my eyes peeled.
These guys buy cars from auctions give them a quick clean and sell them on. Great if you get a good one but if like me there is a problem Liam and his merry band will rip you off. The Mondeo I bought was immediately found to be seriously faulty. Returned it immediately and sat around for hours. Liam is the only one who can refund but never answers the phone. So I spent about £6k on car and have since spent more than £3k putting it right. To get rid of me they gave me an RAC warranty supposedly worth £800 and said to take the car home and claim on the warranty. Naturally the warranty didn't cover the problems found. They offered several hundred pounds to get a faulty auto gearbox checked out and then refused to pay for it. I took legal advice and sent letters. There own legal company advised Liam to pay up. He never did. In the end his own legal company, which initally were fighting me agreed that this company was out of order and they were in despair that they would not see through the payment as agreed. So since this I have had replacement DPF injector, EGR valve, front wheels (buckled), bearing, suspension arm and CV joint. Much of this due to some accident at some stage no doubt but sold to me by Oakwood as being a good car. Do not ever buy from these people. How one earth they continue to trade baffles me. I would hate for anyone else to be ripped off by these people. I could afford to pay more than half the sale price to sort the car out.

I write this review as a warning to others. I would never recommend this garage to anyone or ever purchase another car from them.. ever! I purchased a vehicle from dean the so called sales person and on my way home the rear suspension collapsed and in turn them pushed the suspension leg into the tyre causing a massive tear in the tyre.luckily I managed to pull over on the dual carriageway before the tyre exploded and avoided something a lot worse. I was advised by dean that the vehicle had an mot done at a reputable garage shortly prior to purchase. I contacted dean to advise the vehicle could not be driven and that I would need to get it repaired locally. Lian the supposed owner then advised that they would honor the cost of repairs but only upto the amount they would pay for parts through ebay and labour at a local garage which was a ridiculous amount and left me very much out of pocket anyway. I had the car inspected and was told that both rear suspension arms had completely corroded through and that it should have been picked up on the previous mot. I had the suspension and tyre replaced at my own cost and emailed the pictures and receipt to dean/ liam. Since then I have sent numerous emails but no response and I have called and spoken to dean who advises me every time that the owner liam is the only person that can reimburse me and he would get him to call me to discuss as he never seems to be there no matter what time I call. This has been going on for approximately 4 months and I have still not had a response or any money. In the meantime the clutch has also gone and when I called again I was told that that would not be covered by there warranty. I am now having to consider legal action against oakwood motor group at a further cost to myself to get back the money I have spent on the vehicle purchased in good faith that was not fit to be on the road in the first place almost £1400.. let this be a warning to anyone that is thinking of purchasing a vehicle from these people.........

Well I've made the mistake a few people have done by not reading reviews about these first. I purchased an insignia from these which I had to wait 2 weeks for them to fix the afl headlight to get it through an MOT liam/dean which i think are the same people said they would fill the tank with fuel for the inconvenience which they didn't then said to my partner who went to pick car up because i couldn't if you fill it up we will refund you which they didn't also the mileage was wrong to what they said bits were missing out the interior stereo head unit was all loose headlight bulb hadn't been put in right oil cap hanging off boot wouldn't open had to replace the switch and so on they are 2hrs away from us on top of that anyways stay well away from this company is my advise.

If only we had read these 1star reviews before we had the unfortunate experience of Oakwood Motors. They lies to us saying they had paid over £800 to the local Ford garage to get a problem fixed that came up when we test drove the car and a fault light came up.Turns out Ford didn’t do a thing to our car , other than salesman Dean turning up with his own cheap oil for them to change , with no cost whatsoever to Oakwood. Dean was also supposed to replace an unsafe tyre and fix an electric mirror before we drove over 150 miles to collect the car , they has said all was done.Even in the office when we paid , Dean reassured us all was done.2 minutes down the road , we see the tyre and mirror not done so drive back to him.He tells us to drive the car to the nearest tyre place , that they will pay but get the budget tyre of course. We had to pay £120 , it was their cheapest, Dean said a cheque would be posted next day to us.To cut a very long story short ,12 weeks later still no money, emails and phone calls not answered or returned. We decide to put a review on Google. A week later Dean tells us the owner has seen the review and he will pay us if we send the invoice for the tyre and take the review down, we do both , at our cost of registered post. Guess what . Still no money , what a way to run a business. And no replacement mirror, more lies and stories, the latest that Dean has found a mirror , second hand of course , but the owner won’t pay the postage to send it to us. The owner is either on holiday or visiting the sick in hospital, what a good guy he is ! AVOID THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT BUSINESS.DONT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Oakwood Motor Group are realy stealing my money. the ask to put a reserve fee on a car as its refundable if i dont have it. all done over the phone. when i tell them my circumstances have changed and so i can not go for it as i would not be able to afford the finance,so please would they refund the £200 they so no problem sir yes we will do that. then they dont contact me, they reject my emails and ignore my phone calls always saying the boss is not in and wont be for another few days. when send emails the message comes back email rejected as their email box is full, what a load of hog. because i send another email from a different address and it gets accepted its been almost a week of phone calls and emails. absolute con im putting 1 star on the below questions but most are not relevant as i have not even been to see that car. it was done by phone.

I bought a 2012 Mercedes Benz from Oakwood Motor Group in December 2018. when I collected the car I noticed some of the lacquer that protects the paint was peeling and the Sat Nav that I paid extra for wasn't working. I revisited as agreed after Christmas to have the paint work corrected but when I collected the car over a week later the paint/lacquer was still peeling and the sat nav wasn't repaired. Despite at least a dozen calls since and assurances that someone would get back to me I still have a car with no working sat nav and paint work that is peeling itself off. I traded in my beautiful Porshe for this car as I needed something more practical and I really wish id not bothered. Please avoid.
Oakwood Motor Group sold me a dangerous car to drive, I took it back and they said they would have it fixed in a day. It’s now been a week and I have tried to call and they don’t even know where the car is.
Liam from Oakwood Motor Group in response to Sell cars without even looking at them
Hi, Sorry what car is this in question? You have left no name and make or model of car? We don’t currently have any cars in for repairs? Many thanks
dean from Oakwood Motor Group in response to Sell cars without even looking at them
hi im sorry to ask but are you sure you have the right oakwood motorgroup as im sure i know the whereabouts of all my cars and have had nothing that has returned to me this month many thanks Dean
Be prepared to be disappointed by Oakwood Motor Group from the get go. The car will not be as described. It certainly will not be serviced before delivery, but the service light will have been reset! Any problems you encounter after parting with your cash and you're on your own. YOU WILL BE LIED TO, IGNORED, ABUSED AND THREATENED. They sell cars that have finance owing and they will not provide paperwork to show that it has been settled despite assurances.

Violent and aggressive men! Owner never returns calls! Bought a car from Oakwood Motor Group 4 months ago, full of problems! I contacted the previous owner from the V5 information who has told me that all the service history in the book is FAKE! Next stop is the solicitors office!
