Take your money to someone else other than Oakwood Specialist Cars!!!
On the 1st of April I put down a holding fee down for an Audi Rs4. Before picking up the car I had the car inspected by a third party provider. It was discovered that the car had the following issues;
1. Diagnostic checks – error 05137, Bank 2 secondary air system too low (Which is linked to the engines vacuum system).
2.The headlamp adjuster, which secures onto the wishbone had a broken bracket and cable tied in place !!!
3. The front two tyres were balled.
4. All 4x brake discs require replaced.

I called the dealership and requested to opt out of the purchase and requested the deposit back.
Note: I put a deposit down on a Monday, had car inspected on Tuesday and notified them on Wednesday that i did not want to go through with purchase, I thought i acted quick on the dealers behalf.
The dealership was very defensive saying that the could of sold the car to someone else and refused to refund my deposit.
Seeked citezens advice and Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 , I am entitled to a full refund of my deposit. Sent a letter to request deposit back ...... no reply

We bought a car at OAKWOOD GARAGE WHITLEY BAY and regretting it now may have to take action against them. 4ty July 2019 got car about 2 .The next day went shopping about 12 loud squeaking and scraping noises as we travelled, been back twice had it oiled but problem still happening obviously a waste of our time not feeling safe in this car they act like your best mate when they want you to buy ,but act as if your putting them out when you want problems resolved. WOULD DEFINATELY NOT RECCOMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY.

I would agree with this review having had a similar experience years ago. they sell broken cars which they must buy in from people that wouldnt have the face to sell a broken car. dont give them your money they will face you down unless you go in with ten of your mates and threaten them even then they will probably be prepared for this reaction. they are scum

Do not use Oakwood Specialist Cars. I bought an Alfa Romeo giulietta from these. The “owner” of the business shouts at you in the street to the point of everyone looking. Accuses you of lying, always acts the victim. When I wasn’t going to buy the vehicle after being shouted at he said that I would be paying for any work done to the car so far out of the £1300 that I had already paid, only £300 of which was a deposit. So basically I had to buy the car. The car was recovered by the rac a few weeks later because they hadn’t correctly reassembled the vehicle when they put a new clutch in which resulted in a damaged clip coming off a hydraulic pipe, when the car was taken back to them by the rac (who also couldn’t drive the vehicle onto his truck) Oakwood cars said the car was fine and they drove it straight in the garage, and that there was nothing wrong with it. However, upon inspection by a proper mechanic, 1 cable tie had been put on a high pressure hydraulic pipe, not exactly safe. I must say and give praise to Steve as he was the only kind and considerate person I have dealt with, however he’s only a salesman so has to get everything checked by the “owner”. Save yourself the stress and go elsewhere.

We pride ourselves on a ‘no pressure’ sales approach and have done for many years. If at any stage before your purchase you were unhappy you certainly did not have to go through with it. We want all of our customers to be excited and happy collecting their new car, like most of them are. I have checked on our database and shows that we had fitted a full clutch free of charge. We had put other jobs to one side to have yours done, to get you back on the road the same day. When we sell cars for under £5k and over 50,000 miles we can’t always guarantee that the customer won’t have an issue. We can’t prevent issues with second hand cars, but we can rectify them under warranty, as soon as possible, to get our customer back on the road. This is the difference with a good used car dealer. We have spot inspections from the RAC throughout the year, they check all of our vehicles on site. We are proud to have their approval and wear their logo with pride on our website. Completely agree with you Bought a car at OAKWOOD GARAGE WHITLEY BAY at around 2 on 4th July 2019 next day went shopping at about 12 lunchtime loud squeaking and scraping noises. We returned to the garage and arranged to return it to be looked at on returning to collect it we were assured it was fixed . IT was not, back again the owner seemed very put out. AS IF we''ve got nothing better to do.I Would not reccomend this garage to anyone and dont feel safe in this car . Looks like going to have to take it further They act like your best mate when buying from them. afterwards a different story. .

Been more than fair with me over the years and I’ve done loads of deals with them, when ever I’ve had the odd issue they’ve always been willing to fix it.
I fully understand that the cars a used car and may get issues (as all cars do) but these guys have always helped. So I would highly recommend anyone, if the car suits your requirements go for it. 10/10

Oakwood North East were a pleasure to deal with! Rare to find a dealer who answers questions straight...no sales pitch, just facts. Recently bought a Range Rover from Craig, couldn't be happier with the car at the service. Got more than I was expecting for my car as a trade in, new car was prepared well, standard Rangey teething problems but everyone has been sorted quickly and first time. I'd looked at a few cars of the same age and mileage and Craig was the best value for money! The AA checks gave peace of mind, long warranty that no other dealer was offering!

I purchased a Volvo from here in January and I am very pleased with it, it was clean and in good condition and up to now I have only had one issue with it which was sorted very quickly and easily. It was clean and in excellent condition and up to now I have had no issues with it at all.

I bought a car from these Oakwood North East without viewing the car .. when i got there, everything was hasci was told in fact better,i leaving a review now has i have just done the same again with another car, same again and without doubt will be back,craig and other guys that have helped are genuine helpful people, 250 miles round trip but will be back, Craig, thankyou.

I would recommend Oakwood North East!I purchased a Vauxhall Insignia from here back in August and I am really happy with it. It was clean and in good condition overall and up to now i have had no issues with it at all. The dealers were very helpful and the car was a very good price.

I purchased a Land Rover from here in August. The car was very nice and clean and in really good condition and up to now I have only had a couple of very minor issues which were resolved by the dealership straight away. The car is great value for money and the dealers have been really helpful. I would happily recommend.
