Never buy from here. We were sold a rust bucket. £5k for a vehicle that we were assured was a great vehicle for its age. We specifically asked about the undercarriage /chassis and were assured about this. In fact we received it a week late because they wanted to ensure the chassis was sound. Less than 9 months later the rear axle is completely rusted off. Undrivable. Trusted garage has it on lift and says underneath is so riddled with rust there's no way we could get it to pass an Mot without weeks of work. They've suggested getting it to a scrapper to see what value we can salvage and warned us never to buy from the garage we bought it from again. We supposedly had a 15 month warranty, which was supposed to reassure us. Went to claim on it, found they hadn't put it in place! Only retrospectively put it in place under pressure. Even then, it doesn't cover this and even if it did max £500 limit to cover! So, my advice - avoid like the plague or get a mechanic you trust to look at the vehicle before you buy.

I have used Owens Express motors for 5 years now and I have never had one bad car from Leon he as Allways looked after me and allways gone out of his way to find me a nice family car. Thay are the best in Liverpool

From start to finish my experience with Owens was faultless. I found the car I wanted online, requested a test drive they called me back and booked me straight in. When I arrived at the dealership I came prepared, I have had poor experiences with car sales in the past so didn’t want to make the same mistakes again, however this wasn’t needed. I didn’t feel pressure, all my questions were answered, Joe spoke to me about the car and then gave me the keys to test drive it. I was very grateful for the trust I felt, being given the keys to a car I didn’t own and allowed to make it out without having someone breathing down my neck was wonderful. When I returned Joe spoke to me about the experience and I mentioned a few points regarding the car e.g a mark on the side which I was guaranteed would be sorted if I decided to take the car, again, no pressure. I left, grabbed a coffee to think it over and returned to purchase the car. Now, when I say the service was impeccable I truly mean it. I purchased the car that day and picked it up a week later. When I picked it up it was like a new car, I was overwhelmed by the effort and work that the team at Owens had put in. There was a dent by the wheel arch, gone! All small marks, gone! Inside valeted to perfection! It had a full service where anything that was highlighted was fixed and a full MOT. Now I know you’re probably thinking that sounds like a lot of added cost, well you would be wrong! I paid for the car the day I took it out for a test drive and everything else was included!! They also transferred the log book and got everything ready for me to tax the car while I was in the office to pick it up. Did I mention it also comes with 60 days GAP insurance AND complementary warranty? No, well it does! Honestly, they were amazing, everyone I came into contact with both before and after I bought the car were friendly, attentive, helpful and generally just nice people. I can’t see myself changing my car for many year but I know when I do I will be coming back here. They will also be the at the top of my recommendation list when I speak to friends, family and colleagues about buying a new car. My car is more than I could ever have hoped for and team at Owens made my experience the best I could ever imagined. I highly recommend!

Great service. Quick and easy process. Wont go anywhere else and tokd Leon needed a car as soon as and what I wanted and found the perfect car in 3 days.
On 12th June I drove from Stoke on Trent to Owens Express cars and bought a Fiesta. Shortly after driving away the Fiesta, I got a “Bonnet Open” warning message on the info screen. Stopped at the local Wickes car park to check and the Bonnet was definitely closed (I opened and closed it again to make sure). The warning message was still there but I continued driving knowing that the bonnet was fully shut. After reaching home and parking the car on the driveway, some minutes later the car alarm went off. Dealt with this, but happened again after a few minutes. It seemed obvious that the “Bonnet Open” warning sign was triggering the alarm. I then parked the car in the garage so I could leave it unlocked which at least stopped setting the alarm off. Reported the issue on the Monday to Vaj at Owens Express who asked me to get some quotes from my local garages to repair the problem. I spoke to Vaj again with the quotes but he said it would be lot easier if I could drive the car back to Bootle and get it repaired at the garage Owens Express uses. I agreed on the basis that the car is repaired while I am there and he pays me for the fuel for the 150 mile round trip which he agreed to do so. He “WhatsApped” me to bring the car in as early as possible in the morning. On 28th June set off very early to drive up to Bootle. I first I had to first pop-in to Owens Express to get the address of the repair garage (as Vaj had failed to send me this) where I met Toni (one of the directors) who said that I should not have had to drive all the way there and that she would have organized to pick up the car and apologized for the trouble. I got to the repair garage around 9am but discovered that Vaj had not even made an appointment and was actually on the phone to the garage at that very moment to let them know to expect me! Carl at the garage was very good and asked me to give him a couple of hours to check the problem and do the repairs. Unfortunately, they needed to order a part that was broken but with no guarantee of exactly when it would arrive it was very unlikely to be delivered the same day. After the garage had spoken to Owens Express, I got a call from Toni (the director) who asked me leave the car there and go home by train (but she would not pay the costs, and in any case it would have taken me hours to get back home). She was then apologetic and said she’ll arrange for the car to be picked up from my home once the replacement part had arrived, get the repairs done and drop the car back to my home. The ordered part was in but days and days passed and all I got from Toni was “they can’t find any drivers to pick my car up” but that she has got me as her “top priority” and she will get it sorted. While this was “good to hear”, the trouble was that nothing was happening for days and days and there was no communication from Owens Express, and none of my calls were being returned by them. Worse, when I called again they would pick up slam the phone down instantly. I finally called them from another mobile and when someone did pick it up I had tell her not to put the phone down on me and politely asked her to make an appointment with the garage and that I’ll drive up in the morning and get the repair done. So finally, I got the full repair done on 7th July. In conclusion, I can only say that the After Sales service at Owens Express is pretty appalling, their communication is equally pathetic and don’t expect them to keep any promises they make. They've not even offered to pay for the fuel costs incurred in driving to Bootle twice! And finally, if you are really desperate enough to want to buy a car from Owens Express, please make sure you’re not desperate enough to need to use the lavatory – it’s appallingly disgusting!!

We are having the same problem with this garage and been chasing them for 2 months now! We bought a Maserati off them but their was a crack in the rear window but was told this would be sorted! We drove the car to Hull and 2 months on! Still driving round with a very cracked window! You end up chasing them but they do not want to know once they have your money

Are any of you guys able to contact me please? I’m having massive issues with this dealership.
I bought a car off Mr Owens that he had only just acquired in stock. On driving the car home over 150 miles we noticed several problems with the car which needed rectifying. Despite Mr Owens answering his phone every 5 minutes during the sales pitch which got slightly frustrating, He was very easy to talk to and gave us a lot of confidence in him. He assured us that the car would be fully repaired for us, at his expense, due to the fact he hadn't had the car in stock long enough to carry out his usual checks and make sure the car he sold was faultless. Mr Owens claimed that every car he sold left his garage without any problems. I took the car to my local garage and obtained a quote to repair the issues. Mr Owens agreed for us to go ahead and have the work done. Upon the garage commencing the work, they noticed that further parts were required to complete the repair to the heating. I sent Mr Owens an email to inform him of this extra work and no objection was received. The work was completed and upon Mr Owens receiving my email of the repair bill, my phone rang and Mr Owens was objecting to the bill total. Mr Owens paid me a random amount which equated to about half of the bill and claimed that he would pay me the rest in due course. Three months have passed and after over 18 phone calls to Mr Owens who although has always said he will pay me, It has become clear that he has no intention of paying me the remaining amount. Mr Owens has been a very friendly character on the phone, however I feel that he promises the world to you during the sales pitch in person, and any further correspondence is over the phone, yet he will not put anything formal down in writing, be it email, text, letter, etc which gives the customer no further comeback should there be any issues with the car in the future. This is no way to run a business and treat good customers. I feel let down and disappointed as we naively put our trust and confidence in Mr Owens' salesmans charm and empty promises. The car is a lovely car which is mechanically sound and should last well. The problems were heater matrix and fan direction motor issues, headlight issues, wing mirror loose, and glovebox tabs which hold the glovebox up had been snapped off. The heating issue was the majority of the works needed and was an issue that you would not notice during a test drive as some time needed to pass in order for the problem to show.
