Recently bought a car from here. The rear brake started making a noise on driving within 100 miles of driving away. Turns out it needs new rear brake discs and pads both sides. The start-stop function did not work. The USB connection to the entertainment system did not work. On informing the seller of these problems, he showed no interest whatsoever, claiming it was all wear and tear and part of buying a used car. Not pleasant to work with at all. Avoid this seller who is clearly only after making as much profit from as little work as possible and does not care about safety or customer service.

Staff from Paul Whatley Cars in response to Avoid
Thanks for the review but i feel the wording "avoid" is a little strong as it does not reflect the over all picture of what occurred over the vehicle in question ,which had just been reduced that week only for this lady after seeing and test driving the car and commenting how nicely it was presented at the time to ask for a further discount which was agreed on the basis and written on her invoice for any wear &tear ,which when she called the following month after purchase to mention the discs had started to corrode and could do with replacing it seemed obvious that she had received money in hand for this servicing repair,as for the other matter of her stop start issue i offered to have that looked at free of charge but she replied that I dont really use the feature and i cannot be bothered to bring it back anyway.
Paul and his son were an absolute pleasure to deal with, even staying open out of business hours to allow me to collect my car. They took my old car as a PX against a beautifully maintained and presented 3 series BMW tourer. Both are very friendly and approachable, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment in recommending them to anyone.

I have had no issues at all getting my Golf from Paul Whatley Cars. The dealership made the process really smooth and easy. The car was nice and clean and in very good condition and the value for money is brilliant.

I have had a few issues with my car from Paul Whatley Cars. The dealers definitely could have been more helpful. The Central locking isn't working properly and I have had to buy a new fob which still needs to be reprogrammed which is going to be very expensive. The car was in good shape when I received it and it would be good value for money if I wasn't having all these issues. I would recommend this dealership on the condition that the issues are resolved to a standard that I am happy with.

I bought my 05 golf in 2012 which was a great car. I returned to Paul to buy my Audi a3 which i am very happy with. He offered me a good deal for my budget and the car was presented well, as expected. I recommend anybody after a used car to go here, you wont be disappointed!

Brought a 2007 Honda CR-V with 1 previous owner and FSH from Paul in September 2016 for £5595 and unfortunately had nothing but problems from the start. I have spent over £1000 and still got problems. I fully serviced the car when i received it as the car had issues starting in the cold. They picked up that the battery was at fault so i purchased a new car battery which solved this issue. (I was told this was wear and tear even though it was very shortly after purchasing the car) They also said the steering rack was leaking but Paul told me this was wear and tear. I also had to pay for a new shock absorber which burst within my 3 month warranty period (as this was also categorised as wear and tear). The car had issues with jumping on light acceleration which turned out to be problems with the EGR valve. I paid to get this mapped out and blanked out. The main bulk of the cost however was from clutch problems. I had issues with the clutch very shortly after getting the car back. Paul's garage bled the clutch to see if this would solve the problem. He did also put £100 towards a slave cylinder replacement as it was still within the 3 month guarantee. This didn't solve the problem. Honda looked at the car and noticed the fault very quickly. They suspected it to be a problem with the clutch plate or flywheel. At this point it was coming closer to the 3 month period ending so Paul offered to let his garage look at the car again. They could find no fault so replaced the clutch pedal. I did advise them of Honda's diagnosis (which cost me £45) and left them with it whilst they were working on the car but it was just the pedal assembly which was changed. Once i took the car back the problem continued, and after taking the car to another garage for a second opinion it ended up costing me £1011 for a duel mass flywheel replacement and a clutch kit. The clutch feels as it should and since the flywheel and clutch replacement i have had no further clutch issues so it would appear that Honda and the other independent garage were better at diagnosing the fault than Paul's garage. I now have more suspension problems which i have been quoted another £260 to repair. My honest opinion is as follows - I believe that Paul did not know of all the issues the car had when it was sold HOWEVER the guarantee offered on his cars does not offer any kind of guarantee that you wont end up spending £1000's of your own money to fix the car. A lot of faults are classed as wear and tear which makes it difficult to get him to dip his hands into his pocket, and after the misdiagnosis from his garage (whether that was intentional or not) i wouldn't trust them to fix the issues even if it wasn't classed as wear and tear. All the above means i am unable to give Paul any more than 1 star - Sorry Paul!

I bought a Nissan from here back in August. The car was not sold as described at all. The dealer lied about the service history and the general service and after care was poor. I would not recommend.

Paul Whatley Cars from Paul Whatley Cars in response to POOR
This is a post from a man which just does not make sense he had a full service history/ vosa history which he was given with the car on purchase (nothing false) he had a couple of minor issues with the Nissan Qashqui which he brought it back to have done including a door adjustment /rear child lock fault which was repaired with a full check over while it was at the garage as a good will, then it was bought back to claim the child lock was faulty again and to replace a mirror(even though i explained mirrors are fair \wear & tear\" and something we do not have to change but when the garage checked the latch it wasnt and he had got me to buy a second one for no reason but one thing is to be agreed with is wording poor as his post is."
I Bought my Focus last year and has never let me down highly recommend this dealership.
Paul sold us a Mazda . The service history he told us about was false, and he [promised a FULL service to remedy any current faults. When we collected the car it had only been given an oil change. We are currently taking action to cover the £500 cost of his breach of contract. Avoid this man.

lol why would you pay 500 quid for a service its like 80 quid max
Paul Whatley Cars from Paul Whatley Cars in response to Ripped Off
John the buyer of the Mazda in question believed the garage was carrying out a full service instead of an oil service it caused friction between us and he had around £300 paid for his own garage to settle the matter on what work he claimed needed carrying out as for the \service history\" this post does not state that he looked through all the paperwork before agreeing purchase so i reject the false history statement however since this he has gone on to do a google review\"more\" to claim how happy he is with the vehicle now and i would like to wish him well for the future (Paul Whatley Cars)".
The guys at the dealership were as sound as you like, there was no hassle or dramas everything was straightforward and went through smoothly. I got a good guarantee thrown in with the price and the car is lovely. They get top marks from me.
