Stay away from Penybanc car centre. Be warned that the after sale customer service is appalling, atrocious and substandard. Worst experience of my life in buying a car from Penybanc. I bought a discovery and within about couple of miles of driving from the dealership warning lights for faults in the car was displayed. Returned the car within 2 days for repair work. Car was with dealer for almost 2 months. Car was returned with part repair work completed and more faults identified in specialist report. 2 Courtesy cars given during that time, one was very small and very low power for a family car and other in a very unhygienic state. Two parking tickets were stamped on me without proper evidence. When asked for clarification and to give feedback of the service I was verbally assaulted with swear words and threats to throw me out of the dealership by the owner. I was left traumatised for a number of days. I had to file a police complaint. I had to take the help of the financer to return the car back to the dealer. I have lost £4.4k of my hard earned money in the deal with all kinds of allegations of damage to the car due to the return. I have now raised the matter with Ombudsman. What goes round comes round. Beware of your actions today, tomorrow is coming.

Hi Sanjay, We're disappointed to see the review you left giving the circumstances. Especially considering half the story has been told. When you initially complained that there was a problem with your vehicle, we booked it straight in to get the work done. Your initial complaint was that the EML was illuminated, due to an EGR fault which we put right immediately. Whilst having an inspection at a Land Rover specialist, they recommended that we do the timing chain and some other remedial work to ensure you had a good car for the foreseeable future. Our bill was in excess of £5000, which we did not quibble. During this time we supplied you with a brand new Toyota Aygo X to keep mobile (which we have no obligation to do). On many occasions you phoned up to complain about the lack of 'power' and proceeded to become aggressive on the phone. Despite this, we actually went out and purchased a Volkswagen Touran for you and your family to use. Despite this, you were still unhappy! Upon completion and return of your Discovery, there were 2 x parking fines that we had paid in advance for you to ensure the charges incurred did not get out of hand. Instead of being amicable and paying forward the fines we had already paid, you got defensive and accused us of lying over £70's worth of parking tickets. Despite all we had done for you. In conclusion, I am pleased to announce the ombudsman, the finance company, and the AA vehicle inspection did indeed side with us, and that is the end of the matter.
The absolute check on the two blokes that work there selling me a faulty car and tell me I have to keep it even tho I'm still with in my 30 day writes and after me paying a fee for paper work haven't even got the courtesy to send me my deposit back waste of space pen y banc !!!!!

would, I’m so annoyed, So I’ll try and make a long story short, I spent £12k on a 2020 Citroen Dispatch van from Penybanc car centre Ammanford to find out it had numerous electrical and mechanical problems, I emailed Penybanc and it was booked into NG Carworx Ltd Ammanford to have the problems sorted under warranty, the van went in for 2 days, I got the van back and only one of the 8 problems was fixed, NG Motorworx assured me everything bar on item was fixed, I put it in writing (e.mail) to NG carworx that numerous items hadn’t been fixed and heard nothing back, I also put it in writing to Penybanc car sales (e.mail) and heard nothing back. Then I phoned penybanc and got excuses why no one replied, next they booked the van into Bassetts Citroen in Carmarthen, penybanc wanted me to help pay for it, I said no way, anyway it went in under warranty for nearly three weeks, I got the van back from penybanc, they said everything was fixed, but only one item was fixed again, Just been to my local garage and there are error codes on the van that they say were either not looked at or penybanc told them not to fix possibly because of cost, either way I still have a van with problems, penybanc executive is now getting funny with me saying book it into my local garage then, & pay for the work to be done, and they will refund me…I can see what will happen there, they themselves should be sorting it out, I’ve lost all trust and faith in penybanc car sales and the sales executive there now. Think twice before you buy a vehicle from Penybanc because once they have your money that’s it, there’s definitely no AA Dealer Promise with these guys.

I would not recommend pen y banc car sales to any one i would keep well clear the amount of faults I have with my car is unbelievable going in to the thousands being told I've got to keep my car even tho its not even a month in to my finance agreement luckily I've been told by the finance company they can not do that and I have every right to return the car and the finance company will collect the money off them the attitude with 1 bloke up there is disgusting so my advice would be keep well clear the cars look nice but also nothing but issues with them

Shocking, deception, lies. Owners shouting down phone stating they were not cowboys was final straw. Be still waiting now if I hadn't caught them out, me cars engine required a new one, went straight to Penybanc where they said it would be ready in 2 days, unaware that I had gone to the garage where the car was getting repaired! Check out the owners past on Google, made it difficult to get my cash back after paying in full, stay well away.

Good Afternoon David, Just to address the above review - You bought a 1 Owner Full Service History 2013 Mercedes Benz E Class from ourselves. Upon enquiring I sent you in depth video's on the car, highlighting the very very few defects present. We put a new premium brand tyre on the car, and sent it for MOT where the vehicle passed. The vehicle was then delivered free of charge to yourselves. You then took it upon yourself to take the car to multiple garages for 'free health checks', where the findings were farcical. With the Halfords one in particular recommending that my brand new Falken tyre was deemed 'dangerous' where in fact it had done merely 10 miles on the road. This is just one example of the absolute nonsense Halfords made up on there report. This was all explained to you, and you agreed. However this still wasn't enough. The car was taken to another garage local to yourselves, where another issue was found, and the garage deemed the car to be dangerous. At this point we offered to repair the car straight away, and furnish you with a replacement car whilst you waited for the work to be done. You declined the offer, and wanted a cash settlement of nearly 2k?? We even offered to give you a full refund for the vehicle. Despite this, you were not happy with any of our offerings, and instead took the car to VOSA for another independent MOT. Where I'm sure we were both elated to find out that it, indeed passed. I assumed this would be the end of the matter, as there is nobody more thorough than VOSA, however you have proceeded to leave us negative reviews, on multiple platforms, despite our offers to rectify at every opportunity. In conclusion, I do not see how we were able to do any more as a garage. Kind Regards, Penybanc Car Centre

Just to update my previous review…. I was sold a car that had been serviced by Penybanc, the only proof being an emailed pretend invoice showing a service kit for the car as I was told “you can’t add to a Mercedes service record because it’s online (another lie) After a couple months of ownership the “major service required” message has come up on the dash. My local reputable garage informs me that the car hasn’t been serviced recently as the filters are obviously not new. The major service including a gearbox service has cost £800. Just another lie from Penybanc car centre. AVOID
Well where do we start…… Buying a vehicle from this garage has been the worst car buying experience I’ve ever encountered and would certainly NOT recommend them at all to anybody. Firstly, we were seriously messed around with the delivery of the car, we received excuse after excuse until eventually the car was delivered after 2 weeks of waiting. The vehicle was delivered with the incorrect part of the V5 log book which made it a hassle to tax and also assign a personalised registration. A day after delivery of the car we noticed that the pressures on 3 of the alloy wheels were very low and after correct inflation they went down again within a matter of days. We took the car to a local garage to investigate as we suspected that slow punctures were to blame. Low and behold the garage were unable to remove the wheels off the car due to damaged locking wheel nuts, which in the end, resulted in having to get a mobile specialist to remove all 4 of them at a cost of £90! - the dealer did in fact contribute £50 towards the cost of this, but in all fairness should of paid the full amount. At the same time, the local garage advised us of the appalling condition of the rear brake disks, they were badly worn and one was also cracked! What added insult to injury is that the car had just had a 12 Month MOT prior to delivery, we were advised that the car should have never passed the MOT due to the condition of the brake disks. They weren’t even highlighted as an advisory item!!! We have had to buy replacement brake disk and pads in order to rectify this and at a further cost of £260 When the deflating wheels and tyres were inspected, the cause of the constant deflation was discovered, it wasn’t the fact that they had slow punctures at all, the cause was due to 3 of the 4 wheels were cracked on the rim resulting in slow loss of air. The alloy wheels also show signs of being welded in the past due to previous cracks. Also during this investigation of air loss, the 2 front tyres were also deemed illegal and should have never have passed the MOT either, the inside edge of the tyres was completely bald with no tread. Again, the cost of replacing the 2 tyres was £338!!! We are absolutely mortified that such issues and added expense exist after spending £11995 on this car from what we thought was a reputable dealer, and we certainly didn’t expect to have to pay out all this money to make the car useable. The issue still remains with the cracked alloy wheels and we are having to seek legal advice as to where we go next in relation to getting a satisfactory resolution. This has been our honest and genuine review of this dealer and unfortunately on this occasion we cannot recommend them due to the issues mentioned and our poor buying experience.

My partner purchased a car from Pennybanc Car Centre last month. We initially drove 2 hours to collect my new car only to then have a phone call to say it wasn’t ready yet and to drive back home. Me and my partner were due to go away and it was agreed the new car would be delivered upon our return. The new car was then delayed again due to a suspension related issue which they agreed to fix but couldn’t guarantee a day despite stressing I use my car for work. My car eventually arrived 3 days later- delivery driver had no service history or proof of suspension related work and water pump/timing belt being completed as requested- multiple paint related markings to the chair which weren’t stipulated in the original advert- advised to contact the garage the following day- garage agreed to post all relevant documents and to contact Land Rover for a touch up pen which were more than happy with. 4 weeks later we still have no paperwork, no touch up pen, and are now covering a bill for faulty parking sensors which again weren’t stipulated as broken. My partner has had multiple dealings with the garage over the last few weeks- customer service has been disgraceful from both staff and management- swearing at him down the phone, shouting, and stating ‘we’re p***ing him off’- initially agreeing to cover work, then only certain parts, now not responding to messages, just abusive phone calls. We will now be taking this further as we have spent £100’s of pounds to repair the parking sensors to ensure the car works to the correct standards as outlined in the Consumer Rights Act 2015- after giving the garage multiple opportunities to repair!!!. Pennybanc Car Sales you are a disgrace.
