I had an excellent service in buying my new car with Stephen Veale from Peoples Ford Sighthill. It was a smooth transition from selling my old car to buying my new one. I'm absolutely delighted with my new vehicle.
Having taken my fiesta into the dealership on advice from my local garage due to an low oil pressure warning light on. Charged £96 for them to tell me that i need a new engine, charged £96 to tell me it was not in the policy to strip an engine down to find the problem, and it would cost me £1500 to get it fixed. Only too take it to a mechanic friend to look at it, IT WAS A CLOGGED OIL PUMP! I just wonder how many customers they are told that there car is knackered for it only to be £25 for new oil and a good clean, not impressed in the slightest, And had the cheek to offer £200 for the car to be auctioned off. There only interest dealing with myself was trying to buy a new motor from them....

DO NOT USE THEIR ONLINE BUYING CLICK AND COLLECT FEATURE, WE ARE LEFT 2 WEEKS LATER WITH A MOUNTAIN OF STRESS, A CAR WE BOUGHT HAS A MAJOR GEARBOX FAULT ON THE FORECOURT AND CANNOT BE SOLD TO US AND THEN TO TOP IT OFF WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEIR SYSTEM TO REFUND OUR FULL BALANCE WHICH COULD TAKE 10 DAYS!! WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD.

Emailed the dealership for photos of the car my daughter was interested in , they were sent through. Emailed again asking to test drive the car the following day, no reply. Called them in the morning and spoke with Ian , the manager, who apologised and said we could come along for a test drive. We arrived and were greeted by an older gentleman who seemed friendly and sat us down, gave my daughter the keys so that she could go and sit in the car, the car was not ready to test drive. We did that and then were told that Colin would be taking over. I expressed concern to Colin about the dog smell and hair all over the seats and carpets, the amount of scuffs and scratches on the bodywork and the scratches on the plastic inside. His reply “it is a second hand car”. He then removes the car and drives it to the other side of the forecourt with no mention of what would happen next.He then tells us there is no fuel in the car and he needs to go for fuel. When we came back Colin was with customers and the manager Ian came over and asked us what we thought,I mentioned the things I said to Colin and he basically said nothing . I could go on and on but too much to say. I was so disappointed in our treatment on the day. Was it because we were looking for a second hand car or the fact it would be a cash sale or the fact we were 3 woman that we did not get the customer service I have come to expect when visiting other dealerships?. This was my daughters first experience of buying a car from a dealership and she feels that she does not want to do it again. Businesses should take heed my daughter may not be able to have a brand new car now but she could have been one of your returning future customers buying a brand new car every few years for many years to come if she had been treated differently.

Having booked a test drive with People’s Ford for a replacement Motability car for my disabled son, I loaded the whole family up, keen to try out our new car, and get an order in at the factory. When we arrived, we saw the car parked out in front, and were excited to get going. When we finally found our sales guy, he informed us that the car had “just been sold” and we could therefore no longer test drive it. Poor show guys... You definitely have to up your game and improve your Motability customer service. You’ve really no idea how hard the work of looking for a car for a disabled child is.
Taken my car back to Peoples Ford in Edinburgh for a 2nd time with zero visibility during rain car steams up so bad that i had to stop put heating on 20 degrees outside heating on full inside car. Peoples ford havent done anything this time the receptionist test drove it and its fine for me and my family to go out in, cars a death trap in bad weather ..but peoples dont mind.

Went to buy a ranger on finance through Peoples Ford Edinburgh, filled in the application, got accepted and 5 months later went to pick the car up. Told when asking sales guy It's definitely not a lease he said 4 times I'm 100% buying it....turns out it they frauded and conned me into a lease only agreement. Had meetings with them to correct it and all they say is I can't buy it at the end at all. The best vehicle for me, fully spec'd up for me is now just a nightmare and a constant reminder of a poor dealer that is clueless about anything
Bought a Focus RS from Stevie at Peoples Ford Edinburgh who is excellent. His knowledge of RSs is exceptional. He is straight forward and honest. The service tech headed by Bob are excellent to. Great customer focus from all.

My son bought a 20 k Ford Focus from peoples last Friday. He had saved for years to be able to afford it. After the shortest test drive in history we struck a deal. When he arrived the following Tuesday to collect the car after paint rectification and a quick valet he was left almost in tears. The paint work looked like stevie wounder had done it and it wasn’t valeted at all. It have 4 badly scuffed alloys and a gouge out of one tyre. All he was told was you can’t get paint to match!!! What a armature operation please don’t waste your time or money going to peoples

I wish I found these reviews a lot earlier than now.....Ive been totally conned into finance which is a lease only and my sales guy told me 4 times when I was there that I was 100% buying it....now im held to ransom with a 33k 18 plate ranger
4 years ago, I visited Peoples Ford in Edinburgh looking to purchase a new combo van....I left after 30 mins, as nobody seemed interested in me! 2 years ago, I visited again looking to purchase a Ford Galaxy......same issue as above again! Yesterday, I visited looking for a new Ford Fiesta, again 20 mins wandering around the showroom with my family. Never once were we acknowledged, or approached, in fact no interest shown whatsoever. I think I saw 2 other customers being attended to......all other staff seemed to wander around aimlessly! Poor, poor customer service!
